CHILD WARNING EFFORTPOST Documenting Hamas' war crimes and human rights violations

I've seen a post on here documenting Israels' war crimes, so I thought why not show the other side of this conflict which seems to be getting pushed away by the pro-palestinian side on here.

Before I start this off, I would like to also link @I_farted's post about Human Rights Violations in Palestine, this mostly covers crimes in Gaza committed by Hamas. Everything I didn't get to cover or fully cover in here is inside of it and it goes more indepth about crimes against the Gazan people

Rules from the Geneva convention broken by Hamas (Not all are stated in here)

"Persons taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, color, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria. To this end, the following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever with respect to the above-mentioned persons:

(a) violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture;

(b) taking of hostages;

(c) outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment;

(d) the passing of sentences and the carrying out of executions without previous judgment pronounced by a regularly constituted court, affording all the judicial guarantees which are recognized as indispensable by civilized peoples.

(2) The wounded and sick shall be collected and cared for."

— Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War (Fourth Geneva Convention), Article 3. (,founded%20on%20race%2C%20colour%2C%20religion)

They shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction. It is prohibited to order that there shall be no survivors.

2. Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, the following acts against the persons referred to in paragraph 1 are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever:

— Additional Protocol II to the Geneva Conventions (Article 4)

"Protected persons are entitled, in all circumstances, to respect for their persons, their honour, their family rights, their religious convictions and practices, and their manners and customs. They shall at all times be humanely treated, and shall be protected especially against all acts of violence or threats thereof and against insults and public curiosity."

— Fourth Geneva Convention (Article 27) (

"1. The civilian population and individual civilians shall enjoy general protection against dangers arising from military operations. To give effect to this protection, the following rules shall be observed in all circumstances.

2. Attacks shall be limited strictly to military objectives. In so far as objects are concerned, military objectives are limited to those objects which by their nature, location, purpose or use make an effective contribution to military action and whose total or partial destruction, capture or neutralization, in the circumstances ruling at the time, offers a definite military advantage.

3. In case of doubt whether an object which is normally dedicated to civilian purposes, such as a place of worship, a house or other dwelling or a school, is being used to make an effective contribution to military action, it shall be presumed not to be so used."

— Article 52 - General protection of civilian objects

There are many more examples but this alone took up a good chunk of characters from the limit, I will now show proof of all of these things.

I am putting this in bold and in it's own section because the pro-Hamas people on here will mock the 40 beheaded babies but ignore these:

First paragraph:

violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture.

taking of hostages

outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment

The wounded and sick shall be collected and cared for

This man was forced to read out a script by Hamas in order to put the Israeli government in bad light, but what they did with this video is show to the world the care they give to their hostages, claims to be in "underground hell" and that he gets no food or water (although Palestine is constantly given aid daily by Israel which we all know most of is probably going to Hamas)

Second paragraph:

(e) outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment, rape, enforced prostitution and any form of indecent assault;

Captured militant admitting he and his father raped a 30 year old Israeli woman and then executed her

Full video for any arabic/hebrew speakers, I did not feel like translating this whole thing but if people comment that they want it then I might

Nvm fellers, I translated it, enjoy this mess, click on the button to open this up becaus I didn't wanna cover the post with just this.

Translation by me

Investigator: What is your name?

Kemal Hasin Ahamd Ra'adi

Investigator: How old are you?

Ahmad: 47

Investigator: And what is your nickname?

Ahmad: Abu Abdullah

Investigator: How many children do you have?

Ahmad: One son

Investigator: One son?

Ahmad: One son and six daughters

Investigator: Six daughters...

Investigator: I want to understand what is the story. Please. Reply where did you get captured?

Ahmad: In Hamad City

Investigator: Hamad? And where did you get in from on October 7th

Ahmad: Into the kibbutz... (This isn't a fuck up in my translating, Ahmad just didn't understand the question)

Investigator: Which kibbutz? Okay where did you come in from

Ahmad: From Khuza'a

Investigator: Okay, and how did you get in?

Ahmad: On foot.

Investigator: On foot, and what did you bring with you?

Ahmad: A pistol

Investigator: Okay, a pistol. Who came with you?

Ahmad: My son abdullah (Shown in the previous clip), Ahmad abu Hajaj and Hasan

Investigator: Okay, you got into the Kibbutz from Khuza'a and then what happened?

Ahmad: We went in and every house that had a person in it we would either kill them or we kidnapped them

Investigator: Okay, tell me what happened on the first house

Ahmad: In the first house I was surprised by a woman and her husband, I shot them.

Investigator: A woman and her husband? How old were they?

Ahmad: They seemed to be in their 40's or above.

Investigator: 40 something, okay... And after that?

Ahmad: After that there was another house. Hasan went into the house and I went into another house, he found a man, his wife and their 2 children.

They seemed to be around 10-12, he took them and passed them over to Al-Qassam.

I found a woman and her daughter, I passed them over to Al-Qassam too.

Investigator: Okay.. Al-Qassam, when you talked to them, where were they?

Ahmad: What?

Investigator repeats the question

Ahmad: They were walking around the area...

Investigator: In what, in cars?

Ahmad: On foot.

Investigator: On foot... And where did they take them?

Ahmad: There were cars that they (Al-Qassam) took.

Investigator: And the third house?

Ahmad: And the third house, there was also a man and his wife, 50 something years old. I passed them over to Al-Qassam too.

Investigator: Why is it that on the first house you killed the family but in the rest you passed them over to Al-Qassam?

Ahmad: I was surprised by them, the door was open, and they went out of the shelter or something and they don't know, we went in and we were surprised...

Investigator: What is your position in Hamas?

Ahmad: Normal...

Investigator: What is normal?

Ahmad: Normal means I'm not a high rank or something...

Investigator: What are you a commander in Hamas, are you a soldier in Hamas? Do you have a position?

Ahmad: I work in the government

Investigator: In the government?

Ahmad: Yes

Investigator: What is your job exactly?

Ahmad: National security

Investigator: National security, okay and what is your position in there?

Ahmad: Supervision and search (I don't know what the hell that means I'm sorry)

Investigator: Okay, you went to the fourth house and what happened?

Ahmad: No, we found a group of civilians, between 10-12 people, Men, children and women. We surrounded them and passed them over to Al-Qassam.

Investigator: How old were the kids?

Ahmad: They were small, like 10-12 years old...

Investigator: Okay, how many kids were there?

Ahmad: Like 5.

Investigator: Okay and after that?

Ahmad: After that while we were walking we saw 5 men, girls and boys that tried to run away so we shot them. (Idk how it went from men to girls and boys but that's what he said)

Investigator: All 5 of them?

Ahmad: Yes

Investigator: Okay, did you hit them? Were they injured? Did they die?

Ahmad: They fell to the ground but they didn't... (That's all, idk what else but probably means they didn't die.)

Investigator: You shot and who else? Was it all 4 of you together?

Ahmad: No, there were other guys.

Investigator: Who are they?

Ahmad: I don't know their names, we found them there.

Investigator: You killed a group.

Ahmad: Yes

Investigator: Okay. And you shot at all 5? And then?

Ahmad: And then I went into a house where there was a woman

Investigator: Where was the house located?

Ahmad: In the western part of the area.

Investigator: What did the house look like?

Ahmad: Like all the others

Ahmad: I saw her in the living room with a couple of men, I took her together to an adjacent room.

And I slept with her

Investigator: And what did you do to her? Tell me exactly what you did, detail it.

Ahmad: I took down her pants, skinny made out of leather.

Investigator: Did she want to sleep with you?

Ahmad: No, she screamed.

Investigator: Did she only scream or did she do more?

Ahmad: No, she only screamed.

Investigator: What did she say?

Ahmad: Not screams screams, but like sobbing screams.

Investigator: Okay, and what'd you do? Did you threaten her with your weapon?

Ahmad: My pistol was with me, yes.

Investigator: Even when she undressed?

Ahmad: Yes

Investigator: Okay, and then?

Ahmad: I did what I did.

Investigator: Okay, and what did you do?

Ahmad: I raped her.

Investigator: What did she wear under her clothes?

Ahmad: Nothing. Just a shirt and short leather pants.

Investigator: And that's it?

Ahmad: Yes, leather pants.

Investigator: Okay. Explain to me, I wasn't there.

Ahmad: I layed on top of her, kissed her and I inserted myself inside of her and I came and it took me around 15 minutes.

Investigator: What did she do after that?

Ahmad: I kept her on the bed and I went out, I don't know what happened. I went outside of the house.

Investigator: You didn't take her with you?

Ahmad: No.

Investigator: Did someone come in after you?

Ahmad: I don't know, there were multiple other men there.

Investigator: In the house?

Ahmad: Yes, outside of the room of course, in the living room.

Investigator: So there were other guys in the living room?

Ahmad: Yes, there were men in the living room.

Investigator: There were men in the living room.

Ahmad: Yes

Investigator: The men in the living room, were they with you or were they with her?

Ahmad: Both, with me came Abdullah and Ahmad.

Investigator: And did they go into the room afterwards?

Ahmad: No, they came out with me, but the guys that weren't with us stayed.

Investigator: They stayed?

Ahmad: Yes.

Investigator: Who was with the woman in the house?

Ahmad: I don't know, I found only her.

Investigator: Only her, alone?

Ahmad: That's how I found her, I don't know if there was anyone else with her nobody told me, maybe the guys that were there before me took someone to another room and I didn't see.

Investigator: That woman, you're sure?

Ahmad: Yes.

Investigator: Okay, and then what did you do?

Ahmad: After that we went home.

Investigator: You went home? And Abdullah, where was he?

Ahmad: He was with me.

Investigator: With you?

Ahmad: Yes.

Investigator: And what did he do?

Ahmad: I don't know, we told them we're going home and that's it.

Investigator: And you went out together?

Ahmad: Yes, we went out together, I went with Hasan and we saw people burning down houses and cars and we waited for the kids (Abdullah and his friend) to come to us.

Investigator: Where?

Ahmad: They stayed at the house, until I told them to come back.

Investigator: In the house you were in?

Ahmad: Yes, I told them to come because the plane got there and started shooting.

Investigator: Except for that woman, were there other women in the house?

Ahmad: I didn't see.

Investigator: Did you go into the house?

Ahmad: Yes

Investigator: You said there were guys? Correct?

Ahmad: Yes.

Investigator: What... There was a woman and who else??

Ahmad: Yea just her, her and the one I took.

Investigator: Before this you said there were guys

Ahmad: Guys, yes!

Investigator: Guys from your side?

Ahmad: Yes.

Investigator: Hamas, Islamic Jihad?

Ahmad: I don't know, but they were there.

Investigator: You don't know, they were just there with weapons? They were in the house?

Ahmad: Yes

Investigator: Okay. And except for that, only she was there?

Ahmad: That's what I saw

Investigator: And you're saying that Abdullah and Hasan stayed in the house.

Ahmad: I told them come and I went outside.

Investigator: How long were they inside for?

Ahmad: Honestly, between 10 minutes and 15 minutes.

Investigator: And what did they tell you afterwards? What were they doing in the house for 10 minutes?

Ahmad: We didn't talk about it, I told them come and that's it. And I told you, the planes started shooting.

Investigator: You know your son is telling us something else?

Ahmad: I don't know

Investigator: You know?

Ahmad: What did he say?

Investigator: Are you a man?

Ahmad: Yes

Investigator: If your word is the word of a man, and you told us what you had, and I know what your son said, why did you lie to me?

Ahmad: I'm not lying... Maybe I want to protect him...

Investigator: But he admitted. You did your part, keep going, why lie? You told us and he told us, so why lie?

Ahmad: There's no lie, there's nothing...

Investigator: Because of that I want your side of the story. You came in with your son and Ahmad was with you, we know what you all did. Right? Now I want the entire story.

Ahmad: I'm telling you I went in, saw the dudes and then I raped her and finished.

Investigator: Right.

Ahmad: And then Abdullah came in

Investigator: Did he stay with her?

Ahmad: Yes he stayed with her, I think he did it (Raped her), I think I don't know.

Investigator: Did she keep screaming when he came in?

Ahmad: Yes, she kept screaming.

Investigator: And Ahmad?

Ahmad: That too, yes.

Investigator: After your son or together?

Ahmad: No, no, after.

Investigator: Okay, and after that?

Ahmad: We went out, I went out, and then after that they followed me.

Investigator: After you went out of the house, who stayed with her?

Ahmad: After we went out? The guys, I told you there were guys there.

Investigator: There were still guys there?

Ahmad: Yes, around 4-3 of them.

Investigator: Did they also enter the room?

Ahmad: I don't know, we went out and after that I don't know what happened. I only saw this woman and that's it. We finished and we went out, back home.

Investigator: Okay, after that you went back to the strip? (Gaza strip)

Ahmad: Yes

Investigator: Where were you?

Ahmad: At home.

Investigator: Home?

Ahmad: Yes

Investigator: Until you got captured?

Ahmad: No, of course we went out and operated as usual.

Investigator: Did you see soldiers in Gaza? Did you fight the soldiers in Gaza? Where you in hospitals? Schools?

Ahmad: Nasser Hospital

Investigator: Were you in there?

Ahmad: No, I went there to see my brother, Osama, He was there with around 5-6 soldiers (Al-Qassam, proves that they indeed operated in Hospitals) inside of the hospital.

Of course he was in a department in the hospital and they put him along with the injured.

Investigator: What is Osama's job?

Ahamd: Deputy Minister of Intelligence in Khan Yunis.

Investigator: Okay, and he was in Nasser hospital?

Ahmad: Yes, throughout the war, yes.

Investigator: Where in the hospital?

Ahmad: In the first building, the new one.

Investigator: The new one? How's the building called?

Ahmad: Mujama Al-Yassin

Investigator: Mujama Al-Yassin... Which floor of the building was he in?

Ahmad: The first one.

Investigator: And were they armed around him?

Ahmad: Yea, with pistols and Kalashnikovs

Investigator: Except for that what else did you see?

Ahmad: I didn't see. I went and I didn't see the soldiers, but the people there that were my friends, like Abu Anas Asatari (Probably fucked this name up) and Abu Mushasi

Investigator: And why do you think they used the Hospital for offices?

Ahmad: They think it's safe there, and there's everything there and they just think there's no chance they will attack them.

(c) children who have not attained the age of fifteen years shall neither be recruited in the armed forces or groups nor allowed to take part in hostilities;

As for the third paragraph, all of that can be seen above

Fourth paragraph:

The civilian population as such, as well as individual civilians, shall not be the object of attack. Acts or threats of violence the primary purpose of which is to spread terror among the civilian population are prohibited

4. Indiscriminate attacks are prohibited. Indiscriminate attacks are:

(a) those which are not directed at a specific military objective;

(b) those which employ a method or means of combat which cannot be directed at a specific military objective; or

(c) those which employ a method or means of combat the effects of which cannot be limited as required by this Protocol;

Among others, the following types of attacks are to be considered as indiscriminate:

(a) an attack by bombardment by any methods or means which treats as a single military objective a number of clearly separated and distinct military objectives located in a city, town, village or other area containing a similar concentration of civilians or civilian objects;

Article 52 - General protection of civilian objects (Was too large to fit here)

Animal Warning!

Pet animals count as Civilian objects and therefore killing someone's dog is a warcrime.

Houses and cars are also civilian objects

Execution of surrendering soldiers, not listed in the paragraphs as I probably would've ran out of space

In this video you can see a female conscript hiding under a table very obviously surrendering, by international law the militants would have to take them prisoner, but instead they execute the female soldiers at point blank.

2 Warcrimes so it gets its own section

1. Firing missiles at Israel from a concentrated civilian area in Gaza and using them as a human shield, putting their peoples' lives in danger.

2. Firing missiles at Israeli cities mostly populated by civilians and no soldiers.

Hamas' use of suicide bombers

Since 1993 and all the way up to 2016, Hamas had used suicide bombers as a tactic against the IDF multiple times, here's an extensive list of Suicide and other bombing attacks in Israel, not all of them are by Hamas but if you search "Hamas" you will get dozens of results.

Also wikipedia:

Hamas' use of Human Shields

Hamas places their Weapon Manufacturing sites and Warehouses next to civilian areas, including UNRWA Schools.

Talking about UNRWA and the U.N, here's a post of mine showing Al-Qassam militants roaming around and flailing their guns around a U.N Facility

IAF Drone view shows Hamas militants walking around U.N Facility and firing their weapons

In another post of mine, you will see IDF Soldiers showing Weapon / Rocket manufacturing workshop, right next to UNRWA school

IDF Operating in Gaza and Lebanon today

In one of my recent posts, a picture is attached showing Hamas activity all around and inside of a cemetery

Click on the button titled "Gaza" and simply scroll down

Hamas also fires a majority of their rockets from areas heavily populated by civilians or in controversial areas such as the Egyptian border which may not be populated but would cause an outrage if Israel fires back at them.

I will add more proof to my claim other than the video above

A recent post of mine from around 2 days ago showing multiple rocket launchers on the egyptian border:

Firing of rockets from a Civilian shelter area:

Destruction of rocket launchers right next to Humanitarian shelters in Khan Yunis

Destruction of rocket launchers placed 20 meters away from Displaced persons' tents

Crimes against their own people

Hamas doesn't only commit acts of brutal violence against Israelis, but their own people. They still food from aid trucks that's supposed to be sent to the Gazan people and execute anyone who "collaborates" with Israel (Could literally mean any type of contact with Israelis) and use the civilians as human shields, even blocking the road crossing to the south during the start of the war in order to blame Israel for the civilians dying.

Whether you like the IDF or not, the footage here shows everything you need to see, Hamas uses all of their money to buy jewlery, mansions, cars and businesses in Qatar and Turkey while the poor Gazan people starve, Hamas isn't poor or some guerilla force, they are a government but choose to let their people die for PR.

Hamas' Extrajudicial killings of rivals

Limiting the aid the Gazan people are getting

According to sources associated with Fatah, Muhammad Mahand, an operative in the military wing of Hamas, advertises for sale, with a phone number, boxes of water bottles and diapers that he stole / took over...

In this video, you will see hamas militants firing around Gazan civilians an hour before a humanitarian aid convoy comes through.

Hamas limits the aid coming into Gaza by bombing the Israeli Kerem Shalom humanitarian aid crossing, the people on here are proud of Hamas' achievement of bombing a humanitarian aid crossing but will then blame Israel for not sending aid through a dangerous area for their drivers.

Just yesterday, the crossing was bombed twice, one after the other in a span of 2 minutes

This causes the crossing to get closed for a day or two which leads to Gazans getting less food, and yet somehow Israel is to blame?

Crimes against Gays and Women

Many LGBTQ+ people find it trendy to support people such as Hamas, while I think it is good to call for palestinian people to stop dying, it is not good when it starts to turn into supporting terrorism and screaming "Intifada!"

Here I will show the little research these people should've done before making that decision.

The brutal story of the gay Hamas commander

This video tells the story of Mahmoud Ishtiwi, a former Hamas commander tortured and eventually killed by Sinwar himself.

Human rights report on his story:

This video also partially goes into Sinwars' history and early career before Hamas.

Just like the Saudi Arabian one, this is going to be a comprehensive list of human rights violations in the State of Palestine. This will mostly cover the Gaza Strip since the West Bank is in mostly Israeli control.

Before the modern establishment of Israel and Palestine it was one land under the mandate of Palestine which was British and in the 1920s Britain stated that they'd allow it to become the Jewish homeland after successful Jewish immigration, due to this, many Arabs attacked and killed Jews starting with the 1920 Nebi Musa riots.

After the establishment of the Jewish state in 1948 after U.N. vote, there was the war for independence AKA the 1948 Palestine war after the Arabs decided to attack and kill Jews. This ended in massive Israeli victory, expulsion of 700,000 Arabs, and Arab League strategic failure and the 1949 Armistice Agreements which gave Gaza to Egypt and the West Bank to Jordan but due to failure and expulsion the Palestinian Arabs decided to launch the Palestinian Fedayeen insurgency in the All-Palestine protectorate in what would be now known as the Gaza Strip which ended in Israeli victory. The Gaza Strip was under Egyptian control until 1967 (It wasn't called "Egypt" it was called the United Arab Republic 1959—1967) in which the third Arab-Israeli war started, the war was a massive Israeli victory with Israel gaining the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza, West Bank, and the Golan Heights in six days. In order to gain peace, Israel gave back the Sinai to Egypt in 1980 under the Egypt–Israel peace treaty. Palestine didn't really exist until the Oslo Accords where the Palestinian Liberation Organization leader, Yasser Arafat, met with Israeli prime minister Yitzach Rabin after the peace talk of the Madrid Conference of 1991. The accords established the Palestinian Authority in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. The main cause of human rights violations, Hamas, gained control of the Gaza Strip in 2007 after the Battle of Gaza which ended in Hamas victory.

Women's rights in Gaza are systemically denied, although Hamas attempts to give off the sense that they allow women's rights by appointing a woman as an English spokesman and having a women's sector, they really don't have any political power in the basis of Gazan politics.

They are denied opportunities in the workforce, with Gaza's women's labor force is among the lowest at about 22%, to put that in perspective, the world average is 50%. With this, the heightened rate of unemployment of women in Gaza is 62% which was lower before 2007 but increased by 27% after Hamas take over. Here's the statistics on employed women:

  • 7% are employers

  • 89% are wage employees

  • 59% are due to housekeeping

  • 28% are due to studying or training

Although women only make up 30% of all Gazan civil service, they face heavy discrimination.

According to a 2015 PCBS statistics, women constituted only:

  • 17% of engineers

  • 13% of lawyers

  • 12% of doctors

  • 10% judges

18% of the agricultural sector of the Gaza. workforce is women, they barely own land with it being heavily dominated by men and less than 1% have access to the natural resources.

A major contributing factor to women's lack of property ownership is an enforced Sharia law stating that women are entitled to only half the inheritance of men. In reality, the situation is much worse, with around 88% of women reporting that they received no portion of inheritances to which they were entitled.

When the law isn't in effect of women, the social quota and norms will do so. In 2013, the terrorist group Hamas established a type of gender segregation in school and educational systems including UNRWA and Christian schools. They began to enforce a modesty law forcing all girls and women to dress modest, as what Hamas saw as modest, in public areas. The social degradation of women has even reached the level of slander, with various media sources in Gaza publishing harmful content or incitement against women, such as when Hamas-affiliated journalist Isam Shawar claimed that women were responsible for the spread of the swine flu. (Source: Such social norms stunt the ability of women to fulfill their potential from a young age, starting with decreased educational opportunities and continuing through adulthood.

With heavy concerns of gender based violence which includes physical, verbal, and sexual, is common among women in the Gaza strip. Significantly, there is no law in Gaza that prohibits violence against women within the family, sexual violence included. Read this for some quick facts about the violence against women in Gaza:

In the absence of necessary laws and law enforcement mechanisms, violence against women continues at alarming rates. 16.7% of surveyed girls aged 12-17 reported undergoing physical or psychological violence at the hands of teachers or classmates. 51% of married women in Gaza have admitted to being victims of some form of violence from their husbands, be it physical, sexual, psychological, economic, or social. Perhaps as troubling as the violence itself is the prevailing norm of silence regarding this issue, as evidenced by the fact that less than 1% of abused married women chose to report it to the appropriate authorities.

Women in Gaza must also deal with discriminatory practices within the judicial system. According to Islamic law, which is largely enforced by the Hamas authorities, a women's testimony is worth half that of a man's. The laws of adultery are also codified according to gender; an adulterer is punished with six months in prison, while an adulteress is jailed for two years. Similarly, a woman must pay her husband in order to divorce him, but a man can divorce his wife cost free for any reason. This policy was actually intended to "improve" the status of women, who were previously unable to initiate divorce proceedings except in very specific circumstances.

Hamas is known to suppress protests violently a lot of times, with protests being rare. When protests do happen, casualties are imminent due to the violent suppression when it comes to protests against the ruling figure in Gaza, Hamas. According to The Guardian in a Match 21, 2019 article during the economic protests in Gaza, they show how they used violence against protesters in which they state:

Hamas appears to have forcibly suppressed a rare uptick in public dissent in Gaza, beating and arresting scores of people over the past week who have been demonstrating against price rises and dire living conditions across the strip.

A group of activists and civil society figures calling itself “We want to live” had planned a general strike on Thursday, but after attacks by riot police since last week it was not clear whether the strike would go ahead.

This was shown again during an anti-Hamas July 2023 protest.

Protests were scheduled to take place once again throughout the strip on Monday. However, Hamas came prepared to thwart them.

“In all the locations where we announced that gatherings would take place, there was a heavy presence of civilian and military security, and police cars everywhere,” a source inside Gaza told The Times of Israel on Tuesday.

“Whenever two people were walking together, they were forbidden to stop on the street, after not even a minute [security forces] would go up to them and tell them ‘get out of here or we will take you with us,'” he said.

But on social media, at least, it appears that the protest movement is maintaining its momentum.

“People are much more outspoken against Hamas on social media today than they were 10 or five years ago,” said Rami Aman, a prominent Gazan peace activist living in Cairo, and a critic of the terror group that rules the enclave. “Back then, people would not dare make their opinions heard online for fear of retaliation.”

Most anti-Hamas sentiment is suppressed if put out in public and, as the above source says, the internet is heavily restricted meaning that many cannot voice themselves freely.

The main concern is the polls with Hamas possibly rigging them and not allowing people to vote for the actual people or party they want, which is sadly mostly a race of many evils. With most if not all parties in the Gaza strip being pro-war and having sentiments against Jewish people and Israelis. This brings us into our next section.

Freedom of Speech

There is no real rights or protections for people's speech. According to the Freedom Index, the Gaza strip has a score of 11/100 with how free they are, with them scoring a 3/40 in political rights and 8/60 in civil liberties.

When it comes to political rights and free speech, the Palestinian Authority hasn't held an election for the 132 seat PLC since 2006. President Abbas established the Electronic Crimes Law which violated human rights to privacy and freedom of speech. The law imposes heavy fines and permits the arbitrary detention of anyone critical of the Palestinian authorities online, including journalists and whistleblowers. It could also be used to target anyone for simply sharing or retweeting such news. Anyone who is deemed to have disturbed “public order”, “national unity” or “social peace” could be sentenced to imprisonment and up to 15 years hard labour.

A quote by Magdalena Mughrabi, Deputy Middle East and North Africa Director at Amnesty International provided by amnesty international states:

By rounding up journalists and shutting down opposition websites the Palestinian authorities in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip appear to be using police state tactics to silence critical media and arbitrarily block people's access to information

At least 12 activists and journalists were detained and questioned over comments and caricatures posted on social media deemed critical of Hamas authorities in 2017.

According to Amnesty International, they gathered evidence suggesting at least one of the activists was tortured and otherwise ill-treated in custody including by being beaten, blindfolded, and forced into stress positions for prolonged periods.

Another quote from Magdalena Mughrabi where he states:

Hamas must immediately release anyone held solely for peacefully exercising their right to freedom of expression and urgently investigate allegations of torture and other ill-treatment of detainees by security forces,

Religious minorities

It's not unknown that Jews don't exist in Gaza anymore, with antisemitism being extremely prevalent in all of Palestine and neighboring Arab countries. Holocaust denial is also extremely high, with the US Congress report "Contemporary Global Anti-Semitism" stating:

In July 1990, the Palestinian Liberation Organization-affiliated Palestinian Red Crescent published an article in its magazine Balsam claiming that Jews concocted, "The lie concerning the gas chambers." Gradually, throughout the 1990s, Holocaust denial became commonplace in popular media in the Middle East, particularly in the Palestinian Authority.

Though contrary to popular belief, the 2017 Hamas charter states that their fight isn't with the Jews but is actually with Zionism, making sure to put out that they don't equate Jews with Zionists.

Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine. Yet, it is the Zionists who constantly identify Judaism and the Jews with their own colonial project and illegal entity.

Hamas rejects the persecution of any human being or the undermining of his or her rights on nationalist, religious or sectarian grounds. Hamas is of the view that the Jewish problem, antisemitism and the persecution of the Jews are phenomena fundamentally linked to European history and not to the history of the Arabs and the Muslims or to their heritage.

With the Palestinian law being controlled by Shariah, many religious minorities are under persecution, especially Jews in the West Bank with terrorist attacks against them being prevalent.

Many religions outside of the ones in Israel and Palestine are also ridiculed and bullied. One example being Hinduism with this video showing their sentiments very clearly:

End. Anything else I should add and to be fair should I also do Israel?

EFFORTPOST IDF Operating in Jabalia, Rafah and Zaytoun this week

Was planning to make this about Jabalia but since I got delayed by 2 days and more footage has come out, I'll put everything here at once, although I don't think I will write as much for the others, just footage of the combat in those areas, pretty much I'm just documenting IDF and Hamas activity for the past few days in these areas, enjoy!

In the days leading up to Sunday, May 12th, the IDF intensified its bombings in Jabalia, urging civilians to evacuate the area in order to not get caught in the crossfire.

A few hours after the announcement, the IDF began heavily bombarding the area, with Israeli civilians near the Gaza strip being interrupted by the loud bombing.

Throughout the entirety of Saturday (May 11th, 2024), the IDF was bombing all around Gaza constantly and at night preparing it's troops and placing them around Jabalia in order to prepare for the oncoming incursion, soonafter, Sunday morning (May 12, 2024), the IDF entered Jabalia with armored columns and Infantry, engaging militants and killing many.

During the night and day, May 12, Hamas launched multiple rockets towards Israeli cities, with one hitting a house in the city of Ashkelon with a family inside, causing only mild injuries to the family and no fatal injuries, in the morning after, they launched more rockets towards Ashkelon, with all rockets being intercepted.

Al-Qassam footage of the rocket attack the next morning:

Al-Qassam have uploaded a video of them engaging IDF tanks using a drone, causing minimal damage, titled "Dropping a shell from a drone on a Merkava tank east of Jabalia Camp"

They have also released a video called "Targeting an Israeli tank with a 'Yassin 105' shell east of Jabalia Camp"

I decided to use this extra time to compile some more footage, here is some more footage of the current fighting in Jabalia, May 13th.

IDF: The IDF continues to operate in the Gaza Strip; IDF troops expanded their activity in the area of Jabalya overnight

IDF troops continue their operations against terror targets in the area of eastern Rafah and on the Gazan side of the Rafah crossing. IDF troops eliminated several armed terrorist cells in close-quarters encounters on the Gazan side of the Rafah crossing. In eastern Rafah, IDF troops eliminated a number of terrorists and located weapons. An IAF aircraft struck a terrorist cell that was exiting a launch site. In addition, the IDF struck a launch post from which additional terrorists operated and fired at IDF troops.

Overnight, IDF troops expanded their activity in the area of Jabalya and conducted targeted operations on additional terror targets in the area. Over the past day, the troops engaged in a number of battles, eliminated by tank fire dozens of terrorists who shot at the troops and dismantled an explosives network that was planted in the area. An IAF aircraft struck and eliminated a terrorist armed with an RPG who was identified near IDF troops and was on his way to fire toward them.

Furthermore, IDF troops have continued their operation on terror targets in the area of Zeitoun over the past day. During the activity, IDF troops located tunnel shafts and dismantled several launchers. In addition, IDF troops eliminated several terrorists and dismantled a weapons storage facility and additional terrorist infrastructure.

Additionally, over the past day, IAF fighter jets and additional aircraft struck over 100 terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip, including armed terrorists, booby-trapped structures, and additional terrorist infrastructure.

This took a lot of time and was an absolute pain in the ass to compile, please tell me in the comments if I've made some error and put the same video twice or missed something, that would be greatly appreciated, hope you enjoyed this

PMW director Itamar Marcus is the main source for Monday's Jerusalem Post feature about how Hamas and Fatah use popular media, including music videos and TV programs aimed at children, to preach hatred to kids, encourage children to seek death for Allah and deny Israel's existence. In the article, Tube of Hatred, Marcus talks about how cuddly, appealing characters are used to convey messages of violence and hate.

"Children are very attracted to these characters," he says. "Kids fall in love with them, and then right in front of their eyes, these characters . . . become shahids (martyrs for Allah), one after another, killed on television by Israel. It creates intense hatred."

Following is the Jerusalem Post article, with videos mentioned in the article:

While Israeli youngsters spend summer days crowded around TV screens watching a variety of cartoons and other entertainment programs, in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority, children will be getting quite a different message from some of their TV programming: a message of hatred.

"For many years both Fatah and Hamas have been actively using television for propaganda," says Itamar Marcus, director of the Palestinian Media Watch. From music videos to the dramatic death of cartoon-like characters, including a Mickey Mouse look-alike named Farfur, the message of martyrdom is being drummed into young minds.

From the first months of the intifada, music videos were being turned out to get young Palestinians into the streets, he says. Starting in January 2001, says Marcus, "there was one where a boy wrote a farewell letter and then went off hoping to be killed. You see the boy throwing stones, a singer sings his farewell letter, and when he falls dead on the ground, the words in the music video are sung: 'How sweet is shahada [martyrdom] - ahla shahada - when I am embraced by you, my land.' And you see him falling down in slow motion. Death as a martyr was presented as sweet, as calm, and there were periods when this was being broadcast three times a day."

Another music video

featured Muhammad Al-Dura who Palestinians claimed was shot by the IDF but which was later disproved. "It opens with al-Dura calling to children: I'm waving to you not to say goodbye, but to say: Follow me," says Marcus, whose group monitors the PA, Hamas and other Arab stations that offer such propaganda. "Then you see a reenactment of the event in which he was killed, after which he is shown in child's paradise where he's playing with a kite in a grassy field, on the beach, and he's even walking towards a Ferris wheel. He's having a wonderful time in child's paradise, where there are amusement parks, and he's calling others to follow him. Both these clips ran almost daily on PA TV for years, sometimes many times a day."

Many videos, all of which can be viewed on the PMW Website feature very young children. "The farewell video starts as the boy is riding his bike; he's portrayed as just a little kid riding off on his bike, leaving his father. But he's also a hero, secretly going to join the popular struggle," says Marcus. One program that appeared on PA TV last year featured a child in a Palestinian school getting up and reading; "I love the way of shahada, the land will drip my blood."

CALLING THESE current programs "booster shots" to "get the kids out there," when needed for rock-throwing or other violence, he says there are "many music videos with continuous violence that depict throwing stones and firebombs as glorious. There was one that ran for a few years in which one child, maybe 10 years old, tells another who appears to be about six that 'the stone in their hand will turn into a Kalashnikov >

Hatred is also promoted in the videos, like one of a young woman "sitting in the rubble of her house, and the boy says: 'I will avenge the humiliation of my mother'. Then he goes out with other boys to throw stones, and one of the stones goes through a window with a Magen David on it." >

Another key message on both PA and Hamas children's TV is that there is no State of Israel, "that there is a world without Israel," says Marcus. "A special Ramadan program last year featured a geography quiz posing questions like: Name Palestinian ports. The answer? Haifa Port, Ashkelon, Jaffa, Eilat, Ashdod and Gaza." >

But it was Farfur, the Mickey Mouse character, who really made headlines. A featured performer on the popular Friday afternoon Al-Aksa TV (Hamas) program Tomorrow's Pioneers. In 2007, Farfur appeared for a few months before being killed on TV by an "israeli interrogator". >

He was replaced by Nahul, a bee, who also died on TV >

when Israel refused him medical treatment. "As he died in bed, Saraa, the hostess, says: 'Congratulations to you. Today we don't mourn you as if you died, we say congratulations because it's your wedding. Congratulations. You are a shahid,'" notes Marcus.

The bee was replaced by a bunny named Assud, which means "lion," "because he was a bunny on the outside but a lion inside," explains Marcus. "Among other things he says that because he is a lion, he is going to kill the jews and eat them Another time he said that if the Danes ever did another cartoon of Muhammad, he would kill the Danes and eat them, as well." (deleted videos)

In his final video, Assud explains how he went to the headquarters of Al-Aksa TV because he heard Israeli forces might bomb it during Operation Cast Lead. "Saraa sits with him as he's dying, and he says: 'Tell the children that Assud has died, died as a hero, died as a shahid....' She tries unsuccessfully to revive him, and then the children all say: 'We will sacrifice ourselves for you, O Palestine.' The message is that if Assud can be a shahid, all the children can be.

"Assud was replaced by a bear named Nassur, who declares war on the Zionists. He says to Saraa: 'You are ready, Saraa, we are all ready to sacrifice ourselves for the homeland.'" >

"CHILDREN ARE very attracted to these characters," notes Marcus, "Kids fall in love with them, and then right in front of their eyes, these characters... become shahid, one after another, killed on television by Israel. It creates intense hatred. In fact, we've had children call in to the program and say: 'We hate the Jews because they killed Farfur.' The life-size dolls have been turned into the perfect tools to imprint hatred on young minds.

"They realize that if they can indoctrinate their children at a very young age that Israel and the Jews are the enemy, they won't have much trouble getting them to join the violence and terror against Israel as they grow older."

Marcus, who has traveled the world lecturing on Palestinian society and education, recently told a group of Swedish MPs, who supply funding to the PA: "When you fund the Palestinian Authority directly you are responsible for the continuation of of hate education, and for the wars we will fight in the next generation."

"Once Palestinian society has decided to teach children that death is better than life, a message we find in Palestinian schoolbooks, as well, they don't see any problem in brainwashing young children because they're convinced that they are brainwashing them to higher values," Marcus explains. "They feel they are instilling what they see as the greatest Islamic value, and will use any tool to do it, including Mickey Mouse."

Exploiting the children of suicide bombers for propaganda purposes is not beyond the pale for Al-Aksa TV. Only recently, the two young children of woman suicide bomber Reem Riyashi, who killed four Israelis at the Erez crossing in 2004, were brought into the studio, where a reenactment video clip of their mother's suicide terror was shown in their presence. >

"In the music video the girl playing Riyashi's daughter sees the actress playing her mother hiding the bomb she's preparing, and asks 'What are you holding in your hand? Is it a toy or a present for me?' Later on the girl finds out her mother committed a suicide attack and says in the video: 'You held a bomb in your hands, now I know what is more precious than us.' This program ended with Saraa telling her young audience: 'We will continue in the footsteps of the shahida fighter Reem Riyashi until we liberate our homeland from your oppressive hands,'" explains Marcus.

I can keep going on and on but I yapped enough

jerusalem post

CHILD WARNING EFFORTPOST Reckless Driving Kills a 16 year old girl :marseysteer:

On the tranquil Sunday morning of February 2nd, tragedy unfolded amidst the picturesque shores of Tremembé – Icapui beach, a scene typically imbued with the serenity of coastal charm. Yet, this day bore witness to a calamitous turn of events, as a Mitsubishi L200, its presence a stark contrast to the tranquility of the surroundings, embarked on a journey fraught with peril.

Navigating the winding road adjacent to Quitérias beach, the vehicle became a vessel of recklessness, its path marked by erratic maneuvers that defied all notions of caution and prudence. With each reckless zig and zag, the driver, consumed by a reckless abandon, propelled the vehicle into a perilous dance with destiny.

The consequences of such heedless behavior proved dire, as the driver's tenuous grasp on control slipped away, plunging the occupants into a maelstrom of chaos. In a dizzying display of vehicular acrobatics, the Mitsubishi L200 succumbed to the forces of physics, its metallic frame contorting in a violent symphony of destruction.

Caught in the turmoil of the overturned vehicle was sixteen-year-old Karem Erica Barreto, her youthful exuberance snuffed out by the unforgiving hand of fate. Tragically, her fate was sealed by the absence of a simple safety precaution – the seat belt. As the vehicle's violent motion reached its crescendo, she was forcibly ejected from the confines of the car, her tender form cast adrift amidst a tempest of twisted metal and shattered glass.

In the deafening silence that followed, the gravity of the situation became painfully apparent. Karem Erica Barreto, her life extinguished in an instant, became a poignant reminder of the fragility of existence and the profound consequences of reckless actions.

Yet, amidst the despair, there were survivors. Two women and a child, though battered and bruised, emerged from the wreckage with only minor injuries. Miraculously spared from the cruel hand of fate that claimed their young companion, they bore witness to the fragility of life and the indiscriminate nature of tragedy.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the scene of devastation, the harsh reality of the situation began to sink in. Within the confines of the vehicle lay remnants of revelry and irresponsibility – discarded beer cans, silent witnesses to the heedless actions that led to such devastating consequences.

As the community grappled with the enormity of the tragedy, a somber reminder echoed through the collective consciousness – a poignant call for vigilance, responsibility, and the unwavering commitment to safeguarding precious lives on the roads we traverse.

In the days that followed, amidst the tears and the mourning, the wheels of justice began to turn. The driver, culpable for the senseless loss of life through his reckless actions, was promptly apprehended. Charged with the grave offenses of reckless driving and manslaughter, he faced the sobering reality of his choices and the irreversible consequences they wrought.

As the legal proceedings unfolded, the community rallied around the memory of Karem Erica Barreto, her vibrant spirit serving as a beacon of hope amidst the darkness of tragedy. Through collective action and a renewed commitment to road safety, her legacy would endure, a testament to the enduring power of love, compassion, and the unyielding pursuit of justice.

CHILD WARNING EFFORTPOST October 7th - Operation Al Aqsa Flood

Operation Al Aqsa Flood was a Hamas-led invasion into Israeli soil on the morning of October 7th, This operation was a suicide mission, going in to inflict as much damage and chaos as possible to the Israelis, fully acknowledging this would cause a larger conflict, more harm on the gazan people and that most fighters going into Israel will not come back home.

Background of hamas

I will not go too far into hamas history, such as the past conflicts and attacks, but simply give some context on who carried out this attack.

Hamas are a Palestinian Sunni Islamist political organization and militant group, refering to themselves as a Palestinian Islamic national liberation and resistance movement. They were founded in 1987 during the first Intifada by a Palestinian Imam, "Ahmed Yassin", The organization formed from his previous Islamic Charity "Mujama al-Islamiya". It is designated as a terrorist organization by several countries.

In 2006, Hamas was won the Palestinian legislative election, campaigning to be a "clean government without corruption" and "affirmation of Palestinians' right to armed struggle against the Israeli occupation". In 2007, Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip from their rival Palestinian faction Fatah.

Hamas promotes Palestinian nationalism in an Islamic context. It's 1988 charter had many anti-semitic lines in them and voiced their hatred towards judaism and zionism. Accusing Jews of being behind various global conspiracies, controlling the media, and instigating wars. Their charter explicitly calls for the destruction of Israel and the establishment of an Islamic state in its place.

"Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge Islam and the Moslem people"

"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem)."

In short, they advocate for Armed resistance and Jihad against the State of Israel in order to liberate the prior land of "Historic Palestine" which is the British mandate. In their 2017 charter, they tried to change most of these points as an attempt to not seem like a terrorist group, but their actions speak louder than their words and they have continued to act with the same views as the 1988 charter.

Who was Ahmed Yassin

Ahmed Yassin claims to have been born in 1936 but his passport shows his birthdate to be 1929, in what is now known as Ashkelon, Israel. But formerly referred to as "Al-Jura, British Mandate of Palestine". Ahmed was a quadriplegic and was also nearly blind and was reliant on a wheelchair due to a sporting accident at the age of 12, in which he sustained a severe spinal injury while wrestling his friend.

Ahmed and his family fled to gaza during the 1948 Civil war in the British mandate of Palestine between the Jewish and Arab communities which lasted until the termination of the British mandate, After that was the 1948 Israeli-Arab war between Israel and the Arab league, In which Israel gained a majority of it's current land.

He applied to and attended Al-Azhar University in Cairo but was unable to pursue his studies there for long due to the state of his health getting worse.

He had to get his education at home where he read on philosophy, religion, politics, sociology, and economics. His followers believe that his great knowledge made him "one of the best speakers in the Gaza Strip". During this time, he began delivering weekly sermons after Friday prayers, gaining himself a large following.

After years of uneomployment, he got a job as an Arabic language teacher at an elementary school in Rimal, Gaza.

In 1973, Yassin was involved in setting up a Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamic charity of Mujama al-Islamiya (Islamic Association), His organization was recognized by the state of Israel at 1979 but in 1984, He and other members were jailed for stockpiling weapons.

Yassin was released as part of the "Jibril Agreement" shortly after in 1985, A prison exchange between the Israeli government and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. And during the first intifada he founded Hamas with Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi. Originally refered to as a "paramilitary wing" of the Palestinian Muslim Brotherhood. Yassin acted as the spiritual leader for the organization during his life.

After this, Yassin ordered a suicide attack on Israeli civilians in the name of jihad. This led to him being assassinated by an Israeli apache while he was being wheeled to the mosque by his guards.

Background on Al Aqsa Flood

On January 21, 2024, Hamas published a document in English named “Our Narrative—Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.". In which they explain their reasoning behind the attack, the events that occured during the attack, A reminder to the world what Hamas is in their eyes and what they say is needed in order to stop the Israeli "occupation".

You can read the document at

In this document, Hamas justifies their invasion of Israel and massacaring of civilians as part of the ongoing struggle against what they perceive as historical injustice. They argue that the Palestinian people have faced oppression, displacement, and denial of their rights for over a century. They talk about the israeli blockade and occupation and the suffering of palestinians.

In short, Hamas justifies operation Al Aqsa Flood as resistance to Israeli occupation, oppression and the displacement of palestinians.

The beginning of Al Aqsa Flood

From now on, I will refer to the fighters as "Al Qassam", the military wing of Hamas.

In the early morning (5-6AM) of October 7th, Armed Al Qassam militants rode their bikes and trucks towards the Israeli-Gazan border and used IEDs and rockets to blow holes in the border fence in order for their fighters to cross. Additionally, they used bulldozers to create wide openings for their bikes to pass through and drove their trucks through the same holes and Israeli checkpoints.

In a sort of "Combined arms" show of force, Al Qassam fired hundreds of rockets into Israeli territory and sent soldiers on paragliders along with fighters on foot, trucks, and bikes. Additionally, Al-Qassam utilized drones to target Israeli technology and drop grenades on tanks. Al Qassam attempted to send militants on boats, and while a few successfully landed in the Zikim beach area, many were intercepted and taken down by the Israeli navy. Al Qassam also used this attack to show off their new RPG variant, the Yassin-105, named after the founder of Hamas Ahmed Yassin.

Al Qassam weren't the only guys in the fight, the Democratic front for the Liberation of Palestine were also assisting in a majority of these attacks but there's less footage of that.

The areas which got attacked by Al Qassam fighters during this operation are: Sderot, Nova festival, Kibbutz Be'eri, Nahal Oz, Kfar Aza, Zikim, Netiv HaAsara, Nir Oz, Alumium, Holit, Ein HaShlosha, Nirim, Nir Yitzhak

All of this will be now shown below:

Map of Israeli red alerts in the morning of October 7th

Al Qassam footage of the first moments of the attacks on Israel.

If you want to know where a specific one of these videos occured (Which kibbutz/outpost) then feel free to ask in the replies or message me and I will respond.

This section will be purely for the first moments of the attack, rest of the footage will be later on in this post. Also, if you are simply looking for gore, I can't fit everything in here and suggest you looking at this post

The kidnapping of foreign workers:

The involvement of Gazan Civilians in the October 7th attacks

During the attack on Israel, not only did Al Qassam fighters breach into Israel, but hundreds upon thousands of Gazan civilians assisted in breaching the border, looting houses, attacking Israelis and more. Footage of such will be shown here, in the video of the bulldozer you can already see a majority of people running in are civilians and aren't even armed.

The events of the attack

After attacking multiple Israel military outposts and capturing them, the militants attacked the Nova music festival using paragliders, a video of the aftermath can be found above and some will be shown below.

In this picture, you can see a hamas militant executing a partygoer:

Aftermath of the attack on nova, showing all of the destroyed vehicles of partygoers trying to escape:

Worst of all, in this video, you can see a baby seat stained in blood right near Kibbutz Re'im, where the festival occured, most likely a family trying to escape the area.

Al Qassam captured a woman, Shani Louk, a German-Israeli woman that got murdered and taken back to gaza, Al Qassam was flaunting her dead body and stepping on her while civilians nearby cheered on and spit on her.

Simulatneously during the festival attack, multiple kibbutzim and cities were attacked, one of which was Be'eri. Kibbutz Be'eri had many peace activists living inside of it but that didn't stop Al Qassam.

On the beginning of the attack on Israel, Al Qassam militants stormed the Kibbutz and tried to break through the gate, when that plan failed, they waited for civilians to open the gate and ambushed them, murdering them and then getting into the kibbutz.

After hours of Al Qassam militants destroying the Kibbutz and burning it to the ground, 20 IAF Airmen from the elite "Shaldag" unit dropped into the Kibbutz using a Helicopter and battled the militants. During that battle, a squad of 3 men, one of them being a Staff Sergant in the mossad, evacuated over 100 civilians using a military jeep in the span of 15 hours.

There has been no casualty count of the amount of militants killed, but many civilians have been kidnapped, 117+ have been murdered just from this Kibbutz and 5 of the airmen defending the Kibbutz have been killed in combat. The battle lasted for at least 18 hours but the kibbutz was under search for militants for at least 48 hours.

Aside from just Kibbutzim and agricultural areas, the city of Sderot was subject to an Al Qassam attack.

Al Qassam militants stormed the police station, and after a shootout with police officers, took over the building, killing over 30 police officers in the process.

For 8 hours, not just Sderot, but all of the areas that were being attacked by Al Qassam or about to be attacked, had to fend for themselves, civilians had to arm themselves and police officers were the only line of defense, for 8 entire hours the IDF didn't act except for sending a few batches of soldiers, which I think many acted on their own morals or were just in the area at the time it went down, it took multiple hours for Benjamin Netanyahu to declare a state of war, after Kibbutzim were already burnt to the ground and many civilians were murdered.

In this video you can see the IDF trying to retake that police station in Sderot.

Al Qassam militants murdering civilians:

Aside from Al Qassam militant ground attacks, Al Qassam also fired upwards of 3000 rockets on October 7th towards Israeli cities, this led to many casualties on the Israeli side and led to multiple cities being evacuated due to the sheer amount of attacks that were happening every hour for around 3 days.

One of these cities was Ashkelon, Israel declared this city to be the "most bombarded city", funnily enough it is also the birthplace of Ahmed Yassin.

Ashkelon had it worst when it came to rocket attacks, every hour for almost weeks the city was under constant barrage and the entire city filled with smoke and city blocks filled with rubble.

Rockets even hit a hospital in Ashkelon, Barzilai Medical Center.

It took upwards of a month for the city to be able to operate again and for people to be able to walk outside.

During the invasion into Israel, the Israeli navy and airforce were the only force present to help defend Israel, as the rest of the IDF seemed to be fast asleep due to the attack occurring during Simchat Torah and Shabbat, which are holidays and rest days for the Jews.

The Navy made sure to do their best to thwart all infiltration attempts made by Al Qassam through the sea while the IAF was airstriking Gaza, taking down Hamas infastructure and not long after, helicopters and jets were already in the skies of Israel taking down every single vehicle coming in or out of the Gaza strip.

While the initial invasion gave the palestinian people a rush of hope and adrenaline to finally be able to take down Israel, this was pretty quickly shut down. While the Israeli response was slow, civilians and police officers held the lines for the military, preventing the militants from reaching populated areas such as Ashkelon which has a large population of veterans and armed civilians.

The attack didn't last long, after a few days all of Al Qassam fighters that were in Israel were killed, the border had been reinforced and Gaza was under constant bombardment. The bombs dropped on Gaza during that period were so heavy, windows all the way in Ashkelon would shake with each explosion in Gaza.

The casualties of this attack are:

695 Israeli civilians, 36 of which are children

373 security forces

71 foreigners

A total of 1,139 Israelis killed during this attack

Update: 03/05/24, the body of another Israeli has been found, Alikim Libman, a 23 year old man that was a security guard at the Nova festival. This shows that the casualty count of this attack keeps going up as more bodies keep being found.

As for the Al Qassam casualties, they haven't released a casualty count but Israel has claimed to find more than 1500+ bodies while Al Qassam claims that 1200 fighters went into Israel that day.

It is possible that if lets say, Israel killed all of the Al Qassam militants that went in or a majority of them, the rest of the casualties are most likely Gazan civilians that attempted to help in the invasion and even picked up weapons from dead Israeli/Al Qassam soldiers.

This invasion caused a much larger conflict with the IDF beginning a ground invasion into Gaza on October 27th, 2023. Constantly shelling and airstriking Gaza and causing billions of dollars in damage to the infastructure, leading to around 27,000+ dead in Gaza and 260 IDF soldiers killed during the ground incursion into Gaza.

On the political side, this attack made other countries more fond of getting rid of Hamas and supporting Israel, but Israel has also received major backlash for their bombardment of Gaza, claiming it to be "Overkill" and indiscriminate.

And while this operation started with Hamas, Hezbollah had also sent a few squads to the southern border with Israel but never attacked, this seemed more like a show of solidarity with the Palestinian people and telling Israel that if they wanted to they would.

And although they didn't attack Israel that day, Hezbollah continues to fire rockets at Israel until now and had tried to send a few soldiers through the border a few times during the start of the war. Probably to test Israel's defense capabilities.

The houthies as well started attacking ships crossing the red sea in order to harm Israel's and it's allies' economies, this led to a coalition being formed by the USA against the houthies in order to protect ships crossing from the red sea.

Scene 4 🔹 The fighters here begin preparing the ambush field and installing the first anti-personnel device (TV, as shown).

Scene 5

🔹 One of the fighters here is installing the second anti-personnel device (TV, as shown).

🔸 The third-generation television bomb, which is anti-personnel, has a range of spread of fragments of up to 60 metres, and is placed at a maximum distance of 60 meters from the target.

Scene 6

🔹 One of the fighters here is installing the third anti-personnel device (a shock device, as it appears).

🔸 An impact device is an anti-mechanism device that is less armored than tanks. It can damage or at least damage tanks, and is placed at a distance of 1 meter to a maximum of 20 meters.

Scene 7

🔹 It appears that the fighters monitored an entire faction of the 89th Commando/Commando Brigade, consisting of about 30 officers and soldiers. The brigade's flag appears on the back of one of the soldiers and their arrival to the area of the ambush that had been prepared.

Scene 8

🔹 It appears here that the resistance fighters are equipped with Kalashnikov assault rifles, RPG-7 grenades, and Al-Yassin 105 tandem anti-armor missiles.

Scene 9

🔻 Here advances the vanguard of the 89th Commando Brigade faction, consisting of 10 soldiers (almost a barn). We notice that they are using American M4 rifles and they fell into a deadly ambush for the Al-Qassam fighting group. The video shows that 3 of them were captured and 2 of them were killed immediately, as the Al-Qassam statement mentioned that 6 were killed. who are they.

bursts of bullets pierce the ass of an Israeli soldier

Scene 10

🔻 After defeating the vanguard of the 89th Commando Brigade faction, consisting of 10 soldiers, the rest of the faction prepares, and near them is a Merkava Mk.4M tank from the 7th Armored Brigade. We also notice that one of them is carrying an American M4 rifle equipped with a 40 mm grenade launcher, and he was sniped with another soldier.

Scene 11

🔸 The sound of the screams of the soldiers who fell into the ambush as a result of their injuries and their calls for help to rescue their comrades who were killed and injured as a result of the ambush appears in this scene.

Scene 12

🔸 When the occupation army destroys a specific residential area, it takes into account leaving some existing buildings for its soldiers to take shelter during their movement or if they are targeted.

🔻 And this is exactly where the intelligence of the Qassam fighters and the precision of the ambush were demonstrated, as they chose the location of the ambush near one of the buildings... since it would be obvious in the soldiers' thinking to escape to one of the buildings, take cover in it from the ambush, and seek help from the supporting and armored forces near them.

🔻 Immediately after the Zionist force from the 89th Commando Brigade entered the building, as shown in the scene, Al-Qassam fighters blew up the building and blew it up on those in it from what remained of the advancing Zionist force.

🔸 We clearly notice an American M4 rifle with one of the soldiers.

🔹 A Merkava Mk.4M tank belonging to the 7th Armored Brigade also appears in the scene.

Scene 13

🔻 All of the tanks shown in these scenes belong to the 7th Armored Brigade, which is the only armored brigade fighting in Khan Yunis during the period of the ambush. They are all equipped with the Trophy active protection system, and all of them failed in the system to confront the shells due to the short distance and because the system could not confront the 105 mm Al-Yassin (PG) shell. -7VR) from a distance of at least 60 metres.

🔹 Al-Qassam fighters here monitor the first Merkava Mk.4M tank advancing to rescue and rescue the force.

🔹 It appears that the Mujahideen use the famous RPG-7 MAPATS shoulder-fired launcher.

🔹 The shooter targets the tank with a 105 mm Al-Yassin (RPG-7VR) tandem (double-headed) armor-piercing shell with a high-explosive-anti-armor head.

🔸 The Russian PG-7VR missile, according to company data, can penetrate more than 650 mm into RHA homogeneous steel armor after bypassing the ERA and Sandwich armor, and about 900 mm without ERA and Sandwich armor...

Scene 14

🔹 Qassam fighters monitor the advance of the second Merkava Mk.4M tank to the ambush site.

♦️ Here the resistance fighter shot at the rear of the tower from the right, which is the main tank's ammunition storage area and contains a protected warehouse, isolated from the crew, ready to fire, consisting of 10 shells. But did it penetrate the shielding and reach the warehouse? This is not clear.

🔸 The targeting was done from the right side at the back of the tower, and we see the sound of the explosion and smoke resulting from the shell hitting the tower's armor and activating its HEAT warhead.

🔻 Returning to the first tank, we notice that it was standing and did not show any natural reaction by targeting the resistance fighters who were targeting the tanks and neutralizing them. Therefore, I expect that the gunner, and the tank commander may have been with him, were injured in the strike on the first tank, due to its inability to neutralize the resistance fighters and the second and third tanks shooting at them later.

Scene 15

🔹 Qassam fighters monitor the advance of the third Merkava Mk.4M tank to the ambush site.

♦️ Here the resistance fighter shot in the left area of the turret moving ring between the turret and the hull, and here the turret was turned towards the rear of the tank hull, and despite the extreme narrowness of the area separating the turret from the hull, the fighter succeeded in hitting it accurately, and this is clear from the formation of the flame of the shell's explosion at the moment It exploded, but the shell did not hit the secondary ammunition store at the back of the tank's hull because it did not ignite. Most likely, the shell hit the area where the loader was sitting.

Scene 16 and the last

🔻 The video shows the dead and wounded soldiers being pulled out as a result of this ambush. The scene shows 2 of the dead soldiers being transported.

🔻 It also appears that the occupation forces withdrew injured and damaged vehicles as a result of the resistance's targeting of them, one of which was a Merkava Mk.4M tank that was towed via a D9 IDF armored bulldozer!!

EFFORTPOST Human Rights Violations by Saudi Arabia

This is going to be a comprehensive list of what Saudi Arabia hides when they commit human rights violations.

After modern-day Saudi Arabia's founding and unification in 1932 by the monarch Ibn Saud it has followed a strict interpretation of Islamic law known as Sharia Law. This has stayed the same since the establishment.

The more strict element that is scene nowadays is from the Basic Law of Saudi Arabia which was created after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and the First Gulf War and was broadcasted on television.

Rights violations

Women aren't given adequate rights compared to Sunni Muslim men. It's known for women to be forced to wear hijabs and just have bad rights in general with any Muslim country, in Saudi Arabia women getting beat or harassed isn't a rare occurrence.

(Orphan woman being beat by a member of the Saudi Security force, source:

Many times women who are accused of high-leveled crimes like murder and rape are tried in unfair ways, and many times convicted without any real evidence which gets them executed, sometimes publicly.

An example would be when a Burmese woman was beheaded publicly after being accused of murdering her husband and raping, sexually assaulting, and her child. Her beheading went viral after a man who witnessed it illegally took a video of it and posted it online, the man was later promptly arrested.

Video of that here:

In many cases women aren't even allowed to drive but many women activists attempt to challenge that law in the hopes of gaining reforms.

One woman activist and feminist in Saudi Arabia that fights for reforms and women's rights is Loujain al-Hathloul who led the Women to drive movement and was a prominent figure during the rising feminist movement during the Arab Spring.

(Women to Drive Movement logo)

(Loujain al-Hathloul)

She was detained on December 1, 2014 for entering Saudi Arabia from the United Arab Emirates and claimed her as a Saudi prisoner and terrorist despite her having a UAE license.

Many women are extremely poor, especially ones with now husbands. In highly populated cities like Riyadh women beg on the streets but aren't given proper care because of their status as women, this came after the slight downfall of the oil companies.

As women are abused my their husbands and sometimes raped, Saudi courts ignore it since women need at least three other witnesses of it for it to have a ruling chance according to Sharia law.

Protesting is taboo and sometimes terroristic according to the Saudi government. A prime example of suppression would be the 2011-2012 Saudi protests for reform in which protesters were murdered and executed by Saudi police.

(BBC Arabic on the protests)

(Translation: BBC Reporter: "This is how the night demonstrations began in Qatif, eastern Saudi Arabia, with chants denouncing the exercise of power, but they ended in a different way. They said that the Saudi police opened fire on the demonstrators, killing two of them and wounding a number of others, unjustly. The spark of the demonstration began with the saying that this man is a scholar, a Shiite religious scholar. He is the imam of the town of Al-Awamiyah in Qatif. He's accused by the Saudi authorities of inciting the demonstration of terrorism, while his supporters say that he is demanding freedom and justice. The authorities arrested him on Sunday after he was shot. Saudi Arabia says that they opened fire after he and those with him resisted. Security forces opened fire, but sources close to Al-Nimr said that the authorities ambushed him."

Man who was near him on the phone with the reporter: "The Sheikh was alone in his car and no one was with him, and in order for there to be resistance he must've been lut, and the second thing is that he was most definitely unarmed, and he did not have any help from the emergency service, but when we went to the website and saw the massacre. We thought of the sheikh."

Reporter: "Their areas are neglected and their places of worship are often closed (talking about Shias), but Saudi Arabia enforces them and accuses them of working for foreign agendas and threatens what it calls the new terrorism in Qatif, while they insist that what they are doing is merely demanding their legitimate right to freedom.")

The leader of these protests was The sheikh Ayatollah Nimr al-Nimr in Saudi Arabia. He grew up in Eastern Province Saudi Arabia and grew up Shia, he had heavy involvement in the Saudi protests and sentiments against the House of Saud and the Saudi Regime, even saying they will go to Jahannam (Hell in Islam) after they die.

(Video of his speech translated by MEMRI, source

Many of his followers went out and protested but received heavy backlash from the Saudi government and officials with some even being labeled as terrorists by the Saudi Government.

During these protests the Saudi police and government stated that the protests were caused by a foreign subject possibly Iran/Hezbollah as an excuse to kill protesters.

(Video made by Al-Jazeera English on the excuses of the Saudis, source

Though in defense of Saudi Arabia protests did get violent, but many times in order to subdue the violence Saudi police did more violence. Many times, the Saudi police did more violence to innocents.

This includes opening fire onto protesters to disperse them, with love ammunition.

(Victim of Saudi police brutality, source

These protests were considered a part of the Arab Spring and an attempted revolution. These spilled into Bahrain with even some Bahrain spilled into the protests in Saudi Arabia with some protesters carrying Bahraini flags and shouting "Free Bahrain" while attacking Saudi police like in this video clip:

Religious minorities

Saudi Arabia is known to have the Sunni sector of Islam to be the state religion of the kingdom, but with this comes supremacist and even violent ideologies due to this. One of the state "ideologies" of sorts is Wahhabism. Wahhabism is the ideology of Sunni Islam which is based on the teachings of Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab.

This ideology has perpetual consequences including the start of modern terrorism. The school system and religious systems constantly call for violence against religious minorities, which is probably why people like Osama Bin Laden became extremely violent and Islamist. An example of their teachings is shown in this clip:

Around 90% of the Saudi population is Muslim, 10% of that 90% is Shia. The Shia are mostly located in the Qatif region of Saudi Arabia which is also where the protests against the Saudi government took place.

The trend in persecution of Christians in places all over the Middle East not just Saudi Arabia has risen a lot since the 2010s, Saudi Arabia has put in strict laws in place stating that Christians aren't allowed to publicly worship unlike Muslims and all expression of Christianity is illegal in Saudi Arabia.

Shias are heavily persecuted, with some being murdered publicly. One case of disgusting murder was when a man publicly beheaded a 6-year-old child with a piece of glass in front of his mother for being Shia.

Freedom of Speech

Talking against the government comes with a hefty price. You can either receive lashes or in some cases be executed.

An example of receiving a punishment for such is when a Saudi blogger named Raif Badawi received 50 lashes on the feet for insulting Islam on the internet through his blog. This wasn't his last punishment, for insulting the royal family he had to serve 10 years in prison, 1,000 lashes, and pay SAR﷼ 1,000,000 R(USD$266,633) to the Royal family.

(Raid Badawi receiving lashes, source

Any type of disobedience to the government can be taken seriously no matter the action.

Jamal Khashoggi was a Saudi journalist and dissident who worked for the Middle East Eye, The Washington Post, Al-Arab News Channel, and Al-Watan Newspaper.

(Image of Jamal Khashoggi)

He was known to have progressive ideals against the strict government. He was banned in Twitter (supposedly) by the Saudi government and had to go into self-imposed exile due to political persecution. On October 2, 2018, while he was living in Turkey, he went into the Saudi consulate in order to retrieve legal documents on his marriage but was never seen coming out, he was assassinated.

Homosexuality is considered illegal in Saudi Arabia under Sharia law, with this the Saudi government does not provide any protections for LGBTQ+ males or females. Punishments can include death, flogging, heavy fines, and even deportation/exile. Though in May 2023, the Saudi Tourism Authority has stated in its FAQ that all visitors including LGBT people are welcome.

On April 6, 1941, the Axis powers invaded the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. After eleven days Yugoslavia capitulated, leaving its territory to the Axis powers. Three puppet states were formed. The other territories who were not within the puppet states were occupied or annexed by Germany, Italy (and Albania inside it), Hungary and Bulgaria. The puppet state were (the map is under):

  • Croatia, officially Independent State of Croatia, led by Ustaše movement and their leader, Ante Pavelic. By the spheres of influence, Croatia was divided by the sphere of Germany and the sphere of Italy. Ustase regime was so brutal that even Germans were disgusted by their crimes. Under them, more than a million Serbs, Jews, Roma and Croatians who had opposed the Ustase regime were killed in horrific concentration camps. Comparing with the other two puppet states, Croatia had the most autonomy;

  • Montenegro, Independent State of Montenegro or officially called the Italian governorate of Montenegro, by its name was under the sphere of influence of Mussolini's Italy. Two puppet governments had existed. The first one led by Sekula Drljević and the second one led by Blazo Đukanović. After the capitulation of Italy in 1943, Montenegro changed its “owner” to Germany until the capitulation of Germany in 1945;

  • Serbia, Nazi-occupied Serbia or officially the Territory of the Military Commander in Serbia. Serbia was under the sphere of influence of Germany. Two puppet governments had existed. The first one led by Milan Aćimović and the second one led by Milan Nedić. The second one has existed for much longer then the first one, existing until the Soviet-Partisan liberation of Serbia in 1944. Inside the occupied Serbia there was a territory with special local authorities, Banat, in which the rule had the local German minority.

To cover all of the causes that led to the Axis invasion of Yugoslavia and to cover how the war was going in the Balkans are the longer topics, which do not belong here. So, we shall jump straight to Nazi-occupied Serbia.

Serbia is not really that often mentioned in the discussions about the Second world war and the reason for that is logical: Serbia was not among the central, important territories of the war. However, that does not mean that in Serbia there we were not important events and occurrences. Serbia (and Yugoslavia in general) was a home for the largest resisting movements in occupied Europe: the chetniks (officially Yugoslav Army in the Homeland led by Dragoljub Draža Mihailović) and the partisans (officially National Liberation Army and Partisan Detachments of Yugoslavia led by Josip Broz Tito). Also, Serbia was the second country, after Estonia, that declared to be judenfrei (clean of Jews). Around 16,000 Jews had lived inside the territory of puppet Serbia. Around 90% of them, around 14,500, were killed. Serbia was also an important “supplier” of raw materials for Germany. In 1943, 50% of the copper that Germany had was coming from Serbia.

The second government led by Milan Nedić, with official name the Government of National Salvation, is still a controversial topic in Serbia (the first government is not often mention, because it lasted for short time and it became the part of the second government.). Some Serbs think that Nedić was a traitor and quisling who was helping the German occupiers. Others think that he was in a difficult position and that there were rare ones who would accept to rule Serbia in that time of the history. For my personal point of view, he was mixed between that, but that he was in the hard position it is true. In Serbia he is often named Српска мајка (Serbian mother), because he saved around 500,000 Serbs to not be killed by the Croatian orders and he accepted them as refugees. There were also witnesses who said that they were saved from being killed in the concentration camps by Nedić. What is the real truth will probably, as usual, be hidden inside the shadows of history.

Concentration camps also existed in Serbia. However, they were not that numerous compared to the other in the other Axis countries and their puppet states. It is important to mention that all of the camps in Serbia were in the control of the German occupiers and that the Serbian government did not really have any major influences in camp management. In this post we will cover some those concentration camps and also some of the massacres that occurred in Serbia.

Note: in this post will only be presented the crimes that were committed inside the territory of the puppet state of Serbia and also only the crimes that were committed by the German soldiers. The crimes inside the other Yugoslav puppet states and the crimes that were committed by the movements in Yugoslavia will maybe be covered in one of the other posts.

Concentration camps

The Banjica concentration camp

The Banjica concentration camp, today a museum

The largest concentration camp in the whole occupied Serbia was located in Banjica, a neighbourhood in Belgrade. In May 1941, the first proposals for the establishment of the camp were made. The camps in Serbia were important for the occupiers, for imprisoning anyone who opposed the German authorities, mainly the people who were in the resisting movements. The camp will start working on July 5.

The camp had a lot of rooms, each one for a special category of the prisoners. In the begging the main prisoners were Yugoslav partisans, Jews, Roma, chetniks and communists (note: not every member of the Yugoslav partisans was a communist by the ideological belief. Most of them were actually apolitical). In the first year of occupation to the list of categories was added as category criminals. The people who fell into that category were the people who had already served a sentence in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. All of them were killed up to March 1942. In the last year of the war in Serbia (1944) American, Soviet and British captured soldiers were also brought to the camp, as well as Germans who did not want to serve Germany anymore, but most of these prisoners would later be taken to the other countries, while small number of them were killed. All of the prisoners after the year 1942 fell into the one of the three categories:

  • The first category, in which fell the more guilty ones;

  • The second category, in which fell the less guilty ones;

  • The third category, in which fell the prisoners without the evidence for their crimes.

The liquidation was mostly performed on the first category prisoners, while if the number of them was not big enough for liquidation to be performed, the prisoners of the other two categories were transported for the liquidation. The liquidation of the prisoners was performed in Jajnici, a neighbourhood in Belgrade. Later they were performed in the Central graveyard in Belgrade and after that in the Jewish graveyard. The liquidations were usually performed by the SS orders. The first liquidation was performed on December 17, when 160 prisoners were killed.

The camp was dissolved in October 1944, when the Red Army and the Yugoslav partisans were close to the camp. Almost all of the archive of the camp was burned and only small part of it was saved. The archive contained data about the prisoners.

The true number of the people who were killed is unknown. According to the saved books of the camp, the camp had about 23,000 prisoners and about 4,000 of them were killed. But, because the most part of the archive of the camp was burned, the number of the prisoners could be up to 250,000 people, while about 30,000 of them were killed. The problem is that that the large number of people were not even noted in the archive but they were straightly transported to Jajnici.

The Crveni krst concentration camp

Appearance of the camp

The Crveni krst concentration camp was located in Niš, a city in southeastern Serbia. The camp started working on April 9 1941, few days after the Axis power started the invasion of Yugoslavia. The camp was firstly used as the temporary camp for the officers, non-commissioned officers and the other ranks of the Yugoslavian army. Other people in the camp were also the Orthodox priests, anglophiles, followers of the protest on March 27 of the same year (that protest was one of the causes of the Axis invasion), freemasons etc.

In September 1941 the camp officially became the concentration camp. The official name of the camp was The Niš concentration camp, while the name given here was arose from the name of the local train station. The place for the liquidation was Bubanj, a local village in Niš. The camp constantly emptied quickly but also quickly filled with new prisoners. Those who were not deported to Bubanj were deported to the other camps across Europe.

The camp had five categories of the prisoners:

  • The first category, in which fell prisoners who were used for the retaliations for dead German soldiers (we will come to this again in the next chapter);

  • The second category, in which fell prisoners who were Jews. Jews were doing a lot of tasks in the camp and after Germans completely killed/destroyed the Jewish communites in Niš, Jews were replaced with Roma;

  • The third category, in which fell partisans and those who were working with them;

  • The fourth category, in which fell chetniks and those who were working with them;

  • The fifth category, in which fell prisoners who were foreigners (the Allies soldiers and pilots, foreign Jews, pre-war Yugoslav military official who were helping the resisting movements etc.). This category of prisoners was the smallest and they were not killed, because the Germans respected the Geneva and Hague Conventions on the treatment of prisoners of war.

Like in the camp in Banjica, in this camp there were also three main categories in which all the other fell into. In the first one those who were sentenced to death, in the second one those who were sentenced to interment, in the third one those without the evidence and the fourth one for those who shall be liberated. In the fourth one usually fell ones who were usually really sick.

The camp was dissolved in September 1944 from the fear of the Red army and Yugoslav partisans. The real number of the people who died is unknown, but the speculation is that the camp had around 30,000 prisoners while between 5,000 and 12,000 of them were killed.

Other camps

  • The Topovske Šupe concentration camp. This camp located in Belgrade existed for short time, in period of August 22 to December 12 1941. This camp was specially for Jews and Roma. The largest number of people were around 4,000. After the Staro Sajmište concentration camp (located in the Zemun, municipality in Belgrade, at that time in the control of Croatia) started working in October 1941, Jewish women and children were deported there, while men were deported in various directions, but it is confirmed that all of the inmates were later killed;

Appearance of the camp

  • Milišić's brickyard. This camp also located in Belgrade was mostly fulfilled with the partisans from Dalmacia and Bosnia. Around 500 inmates were killed out of several thousand people in the camp;

  • International Labor Camp "Bor Mine". Located in city Bor, this camp was one of the largest international ones located in the Balkans. The whole place was a vast complex of around 20 camps. The main interest for the Germans was the copper mine. The complex had around 30,000 inmates. The torture of inmates was probably one of the worst ones in the whole Serbia.

  • Camp in barracks in Senjak. Located in city Šabac, this camp was more a temporary camp then a concentration one. The camp was formed in September 1941. The inmates were mostly hostages for retaliations. At its maximum the camp had around 22,000 inmates and a lot of them could not fit inside the camp, so a lot of them were outside of the main building. For this reason, camp managers had needed to empty the camp as much as possible. Some were liberated and that were usually the ones who wanted to fight against the partisans. Some were killed, some were interned and some were send to work, both in Serbia and Germany. By the spring of 1942 most prisoners were killed.

  • Camp in barracks on the Sava. Located also in Šabac by the river Sava this camp looked a lot more like concentration one then the camp in Senjak. The camp had around 30,000 inmates. It was formed in July 1941 and it was intended for Jews in Šabac and the region around it. After all of Jews were gone, the German soldiers were deporting the people from all over Serbia and the new inmates were usually partisans. In May 1942 the camp was half-empty because all of the partisans were killed. Later the inmates of the camp were usually the people did not fulfill the obligation to hand over grain and livestock to the Germans and also the people for the forced labor. The camp was closed in September 1944.

Massacres and retaliations

The major massacres happened in 1941. The main reason and cause that led to these retaliations was the uprising in Serbia against the occupation. Partisans and chetniks at the beginning of the war fought together against the Germans. As the war went, mainly because of the ideological differences and different visions of Yugoslavia after the war, the two movements started to fight against each other. This is known as the civil war in Yugoslavia.

At the time when the movements were still united, Germans invented the rule that was only present in occupied Serbia. The rule was that for every killed German soldier 100 civilians will be shot and for every wounded German soldier 50 civilians will be shot. The rule was invented both as a punishment for uprising against Germany and as a warning for the Serbian people to not even think about fighting against Germans. To be a little more detailed, the rule was invented after the battle for Gornji Milanovac (city in Serbia) in late September 1941. That city was liberated by the united movements. After the battle, insurgents captured some of the German soldiers. The German command in Belgrade gave the order to the one of the two battalions located in city Kragujevac. When the soldiers came in the city they did not find their captured comrades and as the resulted they burned the place and imprisoned some of the local civilians. As they were returning to their location they went into the fight with the insurgents. In that clash 10 German soldiers were killed and 26 were wounded. That was the beginning of the massacres. It must be noted that the massacres in Serbia happened in Serbia before the autumn of 1941, but the major ones happened in that time. A lot of them were committed, but the most well known ones and the most horrific ones were in Kragujevac, Kraljevo and Šabac.

Kragujevac massacre

The massacre in Kragujevac is surely the most known one, one of the symbols of WW2 in Serbia and Yugoslavia. A German commandant Franz Böhme, one of the main German military commanders in Serbia, gave the order for the rule that was previously mentioned. He gave the order on October 10 and it began to be executed on October 18. By the calculation, around 2,300 civilians needed to be shot. On October 18 soldiers captured 66 Jews and communists who had lived in Kragujevac. However, because that number was not large enough, they started to capture civilians from the local villages: Grošnici, Maršić and Mečkovac (today called Ilićevo). The first execution occurred on October 19, when 412 civilians were shot.

The raid in Kragujevac started on October 20. On that day, around 5,000-7,000 civilians were captured. At the begging around 70 people were captured, mainly Jews and communists. Because that number was not even close to 2,300, soldiers started to arrest basically anyone in the city, including students and other minor children. The people did not oppose the arresting, because the German soldiers lied and promised them that it is just a routine control. The soldiers were arresting only the men.

The shooting started on October 20. At that day around 120 people were shot. The next day the biggest shooting occurred. On that day around 2,270 were shot. Around 220 victims were minor children. The number of victims was heavily disputed and by the later communist sources after the war said that the number of the victims could be even around 7,000. Many sources support that number, even one survivor of the massacre who testified in Nuremberg. One source said that all soldiers who had a role in the massacre later seek psychological help for being part of the massacre. In the end, the number of victims is between 2,250 and 7,000. This massacre is one of the worst ones in the whole WW2.

Kraljevo massacre

At the same time as the massacre in Kragujevac, the massacre in city Kraljevo is also well known. Following the same orders, the soldiers started imprisoning civilians after the clash between the German soldiers and the insurgents around the city. In that clash, 10 German soldiers were killed and 14 were wounded. By the calculation, 1,700 civilians needed to be shot. Soldiers also formed one primitive camp, from whom the inmates were deported to digging trenches, not knowing that they are intended as their graves.

On October 20 soldier shot the inmates. The number of victims is around 2,200. Among the victims were also women, children and elder people.

The Bloody March or The March of Death

The third most horrific war crime was the one committed in city Šabac. In September 1941 the German soldiers started to deport the men of Šabac (around 4,400 of them) to Klenak, a neighbourhood in city Ruma in Srem region (at that time the region was under the rule of Croatia). In the meantime, the concentration camp in village called Jarak in Srem was formed on September 26. The civilians of Šabac were forced to walk all the way to that village, who was around 23 kilometers (around 14 miles) far away from Klenak. The civilians were walking accompanied by the German and the Croatian soldiers. Those who were too exhausted, who were too weak to walk, who fell from fatigue or who lagged behind were all killed.

Germans returned those who survived on September 30 back in the city. Later, around 2,100 inmates were killed.

The first appearance of the graves of the shot ones

Even if the victims of these war crimes are not that known worldwide, the victims of these horrific massacres and torture deserved at least to be mentioned. These crimes are still the symbols of the deaths of Serbian people in WW2, as well the symbol for the deaths of Jewish and Roma people. This is, unfortunately, just the top of the iceberg of all of the crimes that were committed against the Serbs. However, Serbs also committed some horrific crimes which also need to be mention, for the reason to be honest with ourselves. If you wish more crimes to be showed, I would be glad to do that.

Have a nice day WPD members.

We all know the Islamic State but do we know it's origins? In this post I'm going to go through the whole history of the Islamic State.

Who started it?

Abu Mousab al-Zaqarwi

Abu Mousab al-Zaqarwi, born Ahmad Fadeel al-Nazal al-Khalayleh, is the 1st emir of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, the 1st emir of Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad and the 1st emir of the Mujahideen Shura Council.

Al-Zaqarwi was born in 1966 to an extremely poor Jordanian family. He was raised in the industrial city of Zarqab which is located 17 miles north of the city of Amman. There, he lived with seven sisters and two brothers. His family is of Bedouin background.

His father is normally described as a retired military officer, his death is considered to be a pushing factor of his family being into poverty. This impoverished factor with dealing with death caused Zaqarwi to become a street thug during his years growing up, even earning the name "The Green Man" due to his tattoos and heavy drinking.

He was a highschool dropout, petty criminal, and even has been accused for procuring prostitutes.

Zaqarwi's lead into extremism

During the Afghanistan war in the late 1980s, Zaqarwi decided to go to Afghanistan to join the Afghan Mujahideen. But when he arrives in 1989 the Soviet forces were already leaving so due to this he instead went for journalism instead of fighting for the Mujahideen, becoming a reporter for the Islamist newspaper Al-Bonian al-Marsous.

During his time reporting, he was introduced to an influential Salafi Jihadist named Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi in Pakistan in 1990. This is also where he met the Jordanian-Palestinian journalist Abu Qudama Salih al-Hami during one of his sister's marriages who has close ties with Abdullah Azzam, Abdullah Azzam has gotten the nickname the "resurrector of Jihad".

One of his sister's then married a Palestinian militant named Khalid al-Aruri AKA Abu al-Qassam who is also known as one of Zarqawi's closest lieutenants in Afghanistan.

The continued marriage with extremists didn't end with his sister's, for which another one of his sister's married Haytham Mustafa Obeidat AKA Abu Hassan, a "veteran Afghani Jihadist".

Then another one of his sister's married Iyad Nazmi Salih Khalil, AKA Abu Julaybib al-Urduni (AKA Iyad al-Tubasi), who will become to be known to be the third highest-ranking official of the Al-Nusra Front in the Syrian Civil War, in 2016, before being killed in 2018.

He was then recruited by Abu Qutaibah al Majali to fight in Afghanistan.

During this time in Pakistan (which he lived in for 10 years), mainly in Peshawar, where he became fluent in Pashto.

Zaqarwi's arrest

In 1992 Zaqarwi was arrested in Jordan after multiple weapons were found in his home including guns and explosives.

According to another prisoner who told Time Magazine in 2004, Zaqarwi attempted to recruit other prisoners in order to overthrow the Jordanian government and rulers.

During his prison time, he became to be known as a "cellblock enforcer" and became more radicalized with Islamic beliefs.

Because Zaqarwi was objectively charismatic, he became a sort-of leader, issuing fatwas and referring to himself as "Sheikh" and even memorizing the whole Quran.

According to Jordanian journalist Fouaid Hussein, who was in prison with him, stated that the torture Zaqarwi endured in the prison is what greatly radicalized him during his prison sentence as stated in this quote: "The prison left a clear mark on al-Zarqawi's personality, which grew more intense. In his opinion, policemen, judges, and government members of all ranks were supporters of the regimes, which he believed were tawagheet [tyrants] who should be fought."

In 1999, Zarqawi was released from prison in a general amnesty by Jordan's King Abdullah.

Zaqarwi going into militantism

Months after his release from prison, Zaqarwi decided to participate in a plot to bomb the Radisson Blu hotel in Amman, Jordan but the plot was discovered so he fled to Pakistan. After he fled to Pakistan his visa was revoked where he illegally crossed into Afghanistan where he met with Osama Bin Laden and other leaders of Al-Qaeda in Kandahar and Kabul. This is where he then proposed to them and idea of setting up his own training camp in Herat. He asked for what he called a "small seed money" of $200,000 from Osama Bin Laden.

The reason Zaqarwi selected Herat for his training camp even though it's far from al-Qaeda's established operations in Kandahar and Jalalabad is because his recruits would enter Afghanistan through Iran.

This camp would kick-start the newly established Jihadist group Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad.

After the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, Zaqarwi would move to Baghdad, Iraq for medical treatment for an injured leg.

Zarqawi was in Baghdad from May until late November 2002, when he traveled to Iran and northeastern Iraq.

Through the start of the Iraqi war, Zaqarwi's group, Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad would get heavily involved which leads us to the group.

The Groups

Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad

In the Iraqi insurgency (2003-2011)

Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad was mainly a decentralized Jihadist organization that fought against U.S. forces and Iraqi forces and their allies. They had a good amount of membership including some from the group Ansar al-Islam in Kurdistan.
(Flag of Ansar al-Sunnah fi-Kurdistan)

JTJ was known to use tactics that included suicide bombings, often using car bombs, kidnappings, the planting of improvised explosive devices, attacks using rocket-propelled grenades, small arms and mortars, and beheading Iraqi and foreign hostages and distributing video recordings of these acts on the Internet which includes the beheadings of Nick Berg and Kenneth Bigley.

(Beheading of Kenneth Bigley)

(Beheading of Nick Berg)

The group was considered very anti-Shia which is why the group targeted many Iraqi and Kurdish Shia Muslims and even executed them.

The group was short lived after the group's leader, Zaqarwi, decided to pledge allegiance to Al-Qaeda in October 17, 2004, and the group became known as Tanzim Qaidat al-Jihad fi Bilad al-Rafidayn AKA Al-Qaeda in Iraq.

Al-Qaeda in Iraq

The group was established after Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad turned into it after pledging allegiance to Al-Qaeda.

They were swift enough in gaining noderitity because in October of 2004, the group kidnapped and murdered Shosei Koda, a Japanese citizen.

(Video of the beheading of Shosei Koda)

The group claimed responsibility for the deadly car bombing called the 2004 Karbala and Najaf bombings that killed 66 people.

The group also claimed countless of attacks throughout 2004-2006.

During Zaqarwi's time leading this group, he was killed by a U.S. airstrike by the U.S. air force on June 7, 2006 which they used two F-16C Jets which they got his exact location being 33°48′02.83″N 44°30′48.58″E. The coalition group called Task Force 145 had been tracking his location for this moment.

(Photo distributed by the U.S. government of Zaqarwi's body)

After the death of Zaqarwi, the group started to fall apart, and due to this in October of 2006 the group split into the Mujahideen Shura Council which is an umbrella Sunni Jihadist group.

Mujahideen Shura Council

Mujahideen Shura Council was a Sunni umbrella Jihadist organization that was headquartered in Al-Anbar province of Iraq.

The groups that were under this umbrella are as follows:

  • Al-Qaeda in Iraq

  • Jama'at Jaish Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama`ah

  • Jaish al-Ta'ifa al-Mansurah

  • Katbiyan Ansar al-Tawhid wal Sunnah

  • Saraya al-Jihad Group

  • Al-Ghuraba Brigades

  • Al-Ahwal Brigades

The group was very short lived only operating around 15 January 2006 – 15 October 2006 but during this time, specifically right before disbanding, MSC with AQI announced the creation of the Mutayibeen Coalition which was a coalition of multiple Anbar Sunni tribes which its membership equated to around an estimated 300,000 members. This was announced through an online video featuring six men dressed in all white that was supposed to represent the group and the Sunni tribes.

(Video showing the announcement)

Though shortly after the establishment of the Mutayibeen Coalition, MSC was dissolved into the Islamic State of Iraq.

Islamic State of Iraq

After the dissolution of the Mujahideen Shura Council, the Islamic State of Iraq was established with its emir being Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and it's war minister being Abu Ayyub al-Masri after Abu Ayyub al-Masri pledged allegiance to Abu Omar al-Baghdadi after just weeks of the Islamic State of Iraq's establishment.

(Abu Omar al-Baghdadi on the left and Abu Ayyub al-Masri on the right)

Due to Abu Ayyub al-Masri pledging allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq, the original 22,000 AQI militants volunteered to fight for ISI.

The Iraqi city of Baqubah was declared as its capital during the group's peak of the first emir reign, and during the peak the group governed territories in its strongholds of Mosul, Al-Anbar, as well as in the regions of Baghdad and Diyala. But during the American troops surge of 2007 the group's stronghold started to diminish heavily with the two leaders of the group, Abu Ayyub al-Masri and Abu Omar al-Baghdadi being killed in an American operation against them on April 18, 2010.

After the death of the two leaders, a man named Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi rose to prominence and took the role as the second emir of the Islamic State of Iraq.

Who modernized it?

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, born as Ibrahim Awad Ibrahim Ali al-Badri on July 27, 1971 in Samarra, Iraq.

al-Baghdadi was born into an Arab Sunni family which belonged to a tribe called Al-Bu Badri. The tribe of Al-Bu Badri consists of sub-tribes, most notably:

  • Radhawiyyah

  • Husseiniyyah

  • Adnaniyyah

  • Quraysh

al-Baghdadi has claimed to be apart of the sub-tribe of Quraysh and claims to be a descendant of the Muslim prophet Mohammed, which is also shown with his name during his reign as a caliph being "Abu Bakr al-Husseini al-Qurashi al-Baghdadi".

He had two other brothers from his father, Awad Ibrahim, who was a religious cleric. According to a short semi-authorized biography written by Abid Humam al-Athari, his grandfather, Ibrahim Ali al-Badri, apparently lived until the age of 94 and witnessed the US occupation of Iraq. Both his father and grandfather took the profession of farming. His mother is currently unknown, no one knows her name, but she is still considered notable in the Al-Bu Badri tribe. One of his uncles was known to serve under the reign of Saddam Hussein in the Iraqi Ground Forces. One of al-Baghdadi's brother's died during either the Iran-Iraqi war or Gulf War.

Unlike as he was in modern times, during his childhood, he was very timid, unimpressive (though he was smart religiously), and was considered very nonviolent and eschewed it.

During al-Baghdadi's teenage years, he was taught by his father and this got him to be a religious teacher where he would teach other kids in the neighborhood about the Quran. Until 2004 al-Baghdadi lived in a small mosque in a relatively poor neighborhood in Tobchi.

He was known to not be very educational fit, with records from the Samarra Highschool showing that al-Baghdadi had to retake courses in order to graduate in 1991, with him scoring 481 out of 600 possible points. Because of his bad highschool grades, he wasn't able to study law as he preferred in the University of Baghdad, instead, he attended the Islamic University of Baghdad

AKA al-Iraqia University. At the Iraqi university, he studied Islamic law and the Quran. al-Baghdadi couldn't serve in the Iraqi military due to his nearsightedness.

According to Islamic extremist forums, al-Baghdadi received a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and PhD in Islamic studies from the Iraqi University.

al-Baghdadi's lead into extremism

During the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, al-Baghdadi was very moved by the writings of the Egyptian Jihadist scholar Sayyid Qutb. During which, he helped found the militant group Jamaat Jaysh Ahl al-Sunnah wa-l-Jamaah. But not too shortly after, he was arrested by U.S. forces — Iraq near Fallujah.

(Mugshot of al-Baghdadi)

al-Baghdadi was detained in Abu Ghraib prison and Camp Bucca. He was detained as a civilian detainee until his release on December 8, 2004.

His time during prison caused him to be more radicalized, after his group Jamaat Jaysh Ahl al-Sunnah wa-l-Jamaah joined the MSC in 2006 and then MSC turned into the Islamic State of Iraq in late 2006, al-Baghdadi became one of the members of its Sharia committee and a member of the group's senior consultative council.

al-Baghdadi as a leader

Following the death of Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi became the second emir of the Islamic State of Iraq, so with this new founded leadership he got he decided to mastermind many attacks which includes over 20 car bombing attacks between March and April 2011.

Because of these attacks, the U.S. department of state issued a reward for USD$10 million for information or intelligence that allows them to capture al-Baghdadi dead or alive.

In 2013 al-Baghdadi decided he wanted to group to expand into Syria, and with this he established the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS)

When ISIS was announced on April 8, 2013, the emir of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, stated that he wanted the group Jabhat al-Nusra AKA al-Nusra Front to become a part of the newly formed ISIS since Jabhat al-Nusra was already just an extension of ISI. But the leader of Al-Nusra Front at the time, Abu Mohammad al-Julani, disagreed and disputed this merger and went to the Al-Qaeda emir, Ayman al-Zawahiri, where Ayman al-Zawahiri told al-Baghdadi to disestablish ISIS and stay in Iraq. Al-Baghdadi dismissed these statements and continued into Syria.

80% of Al-Nusra Front's forces volunteering to ISIS and then in January of 2014 they expelled Al-Nusra front from Raqqa and in the same month clashes between the two in Syria's Deir ez-Zor Governorate killed hundreds of fighters and displaced tens of thousands of civilians.

In February of 2014 Al-Qaeda and ISIS bilaterally disavow any relation with each other whatsoever.

On June 29, 2014, ISIS declare themselves as a worldwide caliphate with emir al-Baghdadi calling himself Caliph Ibrahim, the group also changes its came to just the Islamic State.

The Islamic State

The creation of a caliphate was heavily criticized by many Islamic scholars and Jihadist groups, some even calling it blasphemous.

But due to the rapid rise of ISIS and the declaration of an Islamic State, Jordan and Saudi Arabia moved at least 30,000 troops to their borders with Iraq, after the Iraqi government lost control of (or withdrew from) strategic crossing points that were captured by either ISIL or tribes that supported it. The rapid rise of the Islamic State include the expansion into North Iraq and taking cities including sinjar, zumar, and wama in the Ninavah province of Iraq.

Due to the expansion of the Islamic State into North Iraq and Kurdistan, many Yazidi's fled, specifically Yazidi's in Ninavah province fled to the Sinjar Mountains.

In October of 2014, around 800 Libyan militants who pledged their allegiance to the Islamic State took the city of Derna which made Derna the first non-syrian non-Iraqi city to be under Islamic State control. In early February 2015, Libyan Islamic State militants capture the countryside to the west of Sabha, and later, an area encompassing the cities of Sirte, Nofolia, and a military base to the south of both cities. By March, ISIL had captured additional territory, including a city to the west of Derna, additional areas near Sirte, a stretch of land in southern Libya, some areas around Benghazi, and an area to the east of Tripoli.

Just in July 2014 alone, the Islamic State recruited 6,300 fighters, some of which abandoned the FSA (Free Syrian Army) in order to join the Islamic State. In the same month, the leader of the Abu Sayyaf group in the Philippines, Isnilon Hapilon, made a video with him and masked men pledging allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Indonesians also started pledging allegiance to the Islamic State.

In September 2014, in order to gain money and funds, the Islamic State started kidnapping people for ransom.

In November of 2014, a major part of the Egyptian Jihadist group, Ansar Bait al-Maqdis, pledged allegiance to the Islamic State.

In January of 2015, it was confirmed the Islamic State had a presence in Yemen which became in direct competition and conflict with Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. In the same month, Afghanistan confirmed that the Islamic State had a military presence in Afghanistan, however, by February 2015, 65 of the militants were either captured or killed by the Taliban, and ISIL's top Afghan recruiter, Mullah Abdul Rauf, was killed in a U.S. drone strike.

On March 7, 2014, Boko Haram pledged allegiance to the Islamic State, allowing the Islamic State to have areas in Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon. This was then followed by factions of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan in March 15, 2014.

Subsequent fall of the Islamic State

During 2015, the Islamic State faced numerous losses of territory, these include Tikrit in April of 2015, Baiji in October, Sinjar in November, Ramadi in December, Fallujah in June 2016, and Palmyra in March 2017.

The worst blow to the Islamic State was the recapturing of Mosul by Iraqi forces in 2017 and the recapturing of Raqqa in the second battle of Raqqa.

The Islamic State's last remaining city in Syria, Deir ez-Zor, was recaptured by Syrian forces on November 2017.

There was an attempted siege of Marawi that lasted from May to October 2017 which ended in Philippines victory over the Islamic State ND the failure to establish a wiliyah.

I won't get into every nit and nat of the fall but you can kinda see it.

In 2021 the Islamic State was considered to be completely kicked out of Syria and Iraq.

The Islamic State still maintains land throughout Africa and parts of the middle East but has been relatively slow. They still commit terroristic atrocities but besides that they're still pretty much dead.

In a cowardly and brutal response to the recent capture of their hostage rescue squad by Hamas, the IDF carried out a severe and devastating airstrike on a UN refugee camp in Rafah, Gaza on May 26. The attack on the refugees tents came shortly after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordered Israel to immediately stop all military operations Rafah. Israel, as usual, behaving as a rogue state, defied this directive and launched a devastating airstrike on the densely populated camp, resulting in the deaths of at least 40 people and injuring several others.

Just a day prior, Hamas successfully captured an Israeli hostage rescue squad, adding them to the existing prisoners held by the group. This significant and humiliating setback for Israel prompted a disgusting and cowardly retaliatory response. The video released of the operation [ ]

The bombing targeted a camp that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) had previously designated as a "safe zone" for displaced Palestinians, compounding the tragedy and chaos in the region. The IDF's decision to bomb the refugee camp, despite having directed civilians to evacuate to that very location, has drawn widespread condemnation and highlighted the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The targeted area in Rafah was crowded with thousands of displaced people seeking refuge. Videos circulating on social media show intense flames and widespread devastation, with tents and civilian vehicles engulfed in fire. The camp, located near the warehouses of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), was intended to be a temporary safe haven for those fleeing conflict. Instead, it became the epicenter of a deadly airstrike.

Zionists Propaganda

Israeli news agencies wasted no time in weaving a narrative of deceit and blame, immediately accusing Palestinian resistance groups of the attack on the UN refugee camp. Without evidence, they labeled it as a failed rocket attempt by Hamas. However, when the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) acknowledged responsibility for the attack, the news agencies shamelessly backpedaled.

This behavior is not unfamiliar to Israelis; it echoes past instances such as the Baptist Hospital bombing, where similar unfounded claims of a failed rocket were made by Israeli authorities. The shameless backpedaling of these news agencies as well as the IDF, highlights a troubling pattern of misinformation and manipulation, where blame is shifted without regard for truth or accountability.

Zionists Sick Society

The response from Israeli society, particularly on social media and various public forums, has been deeply troubling. Politicians, public figures and influencers on platforms like Telegram have been seen celebrating the attack, with some mocking the victims, including babies and young children. This callous celebration coincided (or maybe it was deliberate) with the Jewish holiday of Lag BaOmer, a festival traditionally marked by lighting bonfires. Disturbingly, some celebrants referred to the fires in Rafah as part of their holiday festivities, highlighting a twisted and dehumanizing perspective on the suffering of Palestinian civilians.

Zionists celebrating a video of a decapitated baby in Rafah just join Zionists Telegram channels and you will see sick society.

International and Humanitarian Response

Humanitarian organizations and international bodies have condemned the attack and the broader implications of Israel's military actions. The forced displacement of civilians, coupled with attacks on designated safe zones, has been described by some as a war crime.

The cowardly attack on the UN refugee camp has sparked outrage across the globe, further isolating the Zionists. Protests have erupted in numerous cities, including Turkey and various other countries, condemning the heinous act. In Iraq, enraged demonstrators targeted American fast-food chains like KFC, viewed as symbols of support for Israel, signaling a potential escalation where American or Western interests could become targets in the unrest.

The Iranian Supreme Leader Twitted after the attack in Hebrew stating, "The divine promise to establish Palestine from the sea to the river will be fulfilled, just as God's promise to Moses' mother was fulfilled."

EFFORTPOST Being a furry is an evolutionary advantage and a sign of advancement and humanity.

There's a lot of hate aimed at furries, and it's completely unjustified. Most people don't even know what a furry is, so let's start there.

What is a furry?

A furry is someone who likes anthropomorphized animals. This really just means they like humans with animal parts other than ape features (humans are great apes). Typically the furry depiction remains bipedal (humanoid) and sapient, but with fur/scales/feathers/etc. and various other non-ape features like ears on top of the head, a snout/muzzle, tail, and foot paws.

Are there other kinds of furries?

As with anything that draws people, you can't lump everyone together as the same. You've got people who simply enjoy the art, which is just about all furries, so that's a solid baseline. From there you've got people who enjoy dressing up in what is called a fursuit, which is basically a customized, more detailed, and more human-looking mascot suit (as seen in the top photo). Fursuiters aren't so common, hindered by the fact fursuits are extremely expensive, with a full, custom-made one easily costing 2 grand and more.

Then you've got therians, people who identify as non-human and typically some kind of animal. If they own a fursuit it is usually far more animal-like instead of furry-like. They will sometimes even behave like an animal in real life running on all fours and things like that. Similar behavior online where they pretend to be an animal in one fashion or another. Therians are an extremely small minority of furries.

Aren't furries attracted to animals aka zoophiles?

No! This is a common attack and is unfair to the vast majority of furries. Zoophiles can be found everywhere in society, and there are even many zoophiles who aren't furries at all. While it is true there is a higher amount of zoophiles among furries compared to elsewhere, you can't judge the whole furry fandom for the gross kinks of a few.

Furries tend to platonically love animals more than most people. In fact I've not heard of a single animal abuser who was a furry.

I also would like to illustrate the difference between an animal and a furry visually.

This Looks NOTHING like this or this

Note how the mouse on the left is a quadruped with a distinctly non-human face, and lacks sapience. Compared to the mice on the right who are essentially human but with certain mouse parts added and formed to fit the larger human figure.

Is the furry fandom sexual?

It is for many but not all. Most furries have some kind of sexual attraction to a furry (not an animal). But there are plenty of SFW artists who have no interest in nudity or lewdness. What often comes up are claims that furry conventions (where fursuiters and regular furries go to hang out, like anime conventions) are nothing but sex orgies. This is false. While I'm sure there is some hanky-panky going on, same as any convention, that's not the purpose of furry conventions. Sometimes there are bad people who ruin it for everyone. Out of the many dozens of conventions that have been done, this has happened only once or twice, and furry haters will try to cite these events as if it's the norm or represents furries as a whole. This is not true.

How is being a furry an evolutionary advantage?

Domesticated dogs didn't actually evolve from wolves; instead modern wolves and dogs have a common ancestor from between 15,000 to 40,000 years ago. The prevailing hypothesis is that humans tamed these wolf ancestors which would then become dogs, and the ones we didn't tame became the much more wild wolves.

We probably tamed them because we noticed they made valuable hunting partners and watchdogs. We most likely stole pups from dens and kept the more tame ones, allowing them to interbreed with others so we would have own domesticated animal (these were actually the first, before cattle).

The oldest form of hunting is called persistence hunting. This is where you get an animal to separate from its pack and then chase it. Humans, when in top physical condition, have the greatest long distance endurance of any land animal. As an aside, we gained that advantage when we lost our body hair from our ape-like ancestors which allowed us to sweat and cool off faster and easier. Furthermore bipedal movement is far more efficient energy-wise compared to four-legged knucklewalking. Thus we can chase after an animal at a light jog and eventually catch up to it (by tracking it of course). The animal seeing us again, would get frightened and run off once more. But due to its fur it is unable to get rid of body heat as easily, and so it can't run away as far this time. Before long the human, unperturbed, catches up again. And again. Eventually the animal is so exhausted it cannot physically run away anymore making for an easy kill.

Canines are the only creatures able to come close to matching a human in long distance traveling. I believe this contributed to our relationship with them. They would also be able to aid in tracking the pursued animal through the brush.

What does all this have to do with furries?

Ancient humans working closely with these canines would have an advantage making them more likely to eat, survive, and thus breed. Those who were repulsed by these animals, like most are of bugs, would lack the advantage and be less likely to breed. This means it is not unreasonable to expect a natural platonic attraction to the shape of canines. And because their shape isn't so different from many other furred mammals like cats, is it any wonder that almost everyone likes the look of dogs and cats? Even babies love being around dogs! It's clear we evolved to be attracted to the looks and demeanor of these animals, just as they were bred to do the same for humans.

How is being a furry a sign of advancement and humanity?

Since liking furred animals is practically in our genes, is it any wonder that furries exist who want to take the attraction farther and incorporate the look of non-ape animals into the human figure? Following along from the process of taming canines, one could argue the next step of evolution in that regard is the furry. Not as crazy as you think, since all the way back to cave drawings people have done drawings of half human half animal people. Bastet, my favorite Egyptian goddess, is a woman with the head of a cat. So furries have always existed, but thanks to more modern artistry we've been able to really refine what they look like.

If you hate furries, can you really claim to be human?

EFFORTPOST From Ajnad to Al-Hayat: The Music of the Islamic State

The Islamic State is known to use social media vigorously in order to disseminate propaganda throughout the interwebs, but one part of their propaganda a lot of times goes unnoticed even though it plays a huge part in their propaganda, which is their music.

Everyone knows the Islamic State is an Islamic extremist group, and since they have such an extreme interpretation of the Quran and Sharia law, they use an acapella-like genre of music called Nasheed [Arabic: نَشِيد] which they always used throughout their times making propaganda videos.

Since 2005 Jihadist groups have been using nasheeds in their videos, but a lot of times they use nasheeds already made from a man named Abu Ali or at least created the script for nasheeds (Besides a select few groups including the Islamic Army in Iraq), but in 2013 the newly established Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant created Ajnad Media Foundation for Audio Production with their media expansion also in 2013 leaving behind traditional media like CDs, DVDs, etc.

Ajnad Media Foundation

(Image used to announce the creation Ajnad)

Through Ajnad they created many popular and objectively influential nasheeds including Clashing of Swords [Arabic: صليل الصوارم, Transliterated: Salil al-Sawarim] and My Ummah, Dawn has Appeared [Arabic: أُمَّتِي قَدْ لَاحَ فَجْرٌ, Transliterated: Ummati qad laha fajrun] also known as The Islamic State has Been Established [Arabic: دَوْلَة اُلْإِسْلَامِ قَامَتْ, Transliterated: ad-Dawla tal-Islamiyyah Qamat].

(Cover art of My Ummah, Dawn Has Appeared).

(Clashing of Swords nasheed)

Ajnad has created hundreds of nasheeds, not just for videos of the battlefield and the execution of people, but for kids as well. During the release of an Islamic State created kids app called Huroof [Arabic: حروف, literally translated to: Letters], the app was released for Android and Windows computer systems and also a nasheed was created for it. The nasheed is just called Huroof, named after the app, and is used in the app itself and it's ads for the app.

(Banner for the ad)

The man who created/sung all these nasheeds (mentioned at least) goes by the alias Abu Yasir [Arabic: أبو ياسر].

Asedaa Media Foundation

(Logo of Asedaa Foundation for Audio Production)

There are more than just Ajnad of course, another group of audio producers is Asedaa Foundation for Audio Production [Arabic: مؤسسة أصداء].

Asedaa isn't considered officially apart of ISIS even though many of the nasheeds made by the foundation are used in ISIS videos, they are only considered a "supporter organization".

Al-Hayat Media Center

(Logo of Al-Hayat Media Center)

Al-Hayat Media Center is a bilingual media production organization that doesn't just produce videos but also produces nasheeds in Arabic, English, French, German, Uyghur, Bengali, Chinese, Turkish, Kurdish, Russian, Urdu, and Indonesian.

Though Al-Hayat Media Center creates a ton of nasheeds, they also produce videos and video series, Inside the Khilafah would be a good example. (You can watch the full English series here:

Al-Furat Media

(Logo of Al-Furat Media)

Al-Furat is another multilingual media centre that uploads not only videos but nasheeds, they make nasheeds and video nasheeds in English, Russian, German, Turkish and Bengali.

Here's an example of a nasheed created by al-Furat:

Through this they have made many nasheed videos on famous nasheeds made by Ajnad Media Foundation and Al-Hayat Media Center.

EFFORTPOST Operation Arnon - A Writeup

Operation Arnon was carried out by the IDF, Shin Bet, Yamam, and the ISA on Saturday, June 8th in order to rescue 4 Israeli hostages. The operation was carried out in the early morning (Around 11am) and 2 buildings housing the hostages were attacked simultaneously by Yamam and Shin Bet operatives while Paratroopers and Commandos along with Armored vehicles were waiting outside to exfiltrate the hostages and rescue force.

The operation was originally codenamed Operation Seeds of Summer, but later was changed to "Operation Arnon", named after Arnon Zmora, a Yamam Chief Inspector that was the only soldier to die during this operation.

The hostages rescued in the operation

Shlomi Ziv, Andrey Kozolov, Almog Meir, Noa Argamani

Videos of Noa Argamani getting kidnapped on October 7th:

Sources claim that on May 12th, the Israeli government recieved intelligence about the locations of four Israeli hostages hidden inside of the Nuseirat refugee camp inside Gaza. Since then until the operation on June 8th, every branch of Israeli intelligence was focused on the area of Nuseirat 24/7 in order to locate the exact locations of the Israeli hostages.

In order to locate the hostages and gather information, Israel sent a team of undercover "Mista'arvim" into the local market area of Nuseirat. The role of the undercover unit role was not only to gather intelligence from locals but also to check information from the interrogations of captured militants. In addition, information was gathered by aerial observation and other sophisticated technological means.

Photo of the makeup room used by the Mista'arvim before going into Gaza:

After 19 days of intelligence gathering, the Israeli government had managed to compile enough information about the locations of the Israeli hostages. Noa Argamani was held in the first floor of one and the three other hostages were on the third floor of a building 800 metres away.

At the beginning of June, this information was brought to the Israeli War Cabinet, and the Chief of Staff of the IDF and head of the Shin Bet were asked to present a rescue plan. The intelligence was kept top secret with Israeli forces inside of Gaza, including senior commanders, not being informed about it.

In the days leading up to the rescue, the police's elite Yamam counter-terrorism unit drilled various models of the extraction from central Gaza's Nuseirat, which military officials said were “similar to the Entebbe raid” of 1976, when Israeli commandos rescued more than 100 hostages in Uganda.

Also in the days before the mission, the military launched a new operation in eastern Bureij — to the east of Nuseirat — and in east Deir al-Balah — to the southeast of where the hostages were rescued — in an apparent feint to reduce Hamas's defenses in Nuseirat.

In order to finally verify the information and to prepare the ground for the operation, another team of undercover soldiers (including several women dressed in hijabs and long black dresses) was sent into the Nuseirat refugee camp. Pretending to be two Gazan families looking for a large house in Nuseirat, they arrived in two cheap-looking old cars loaded with domestic items characteristic of those families displaced in the Strip, such as mattresses and clothing identical to those of the locals.

When the residents of the Nuseirat camp asked the undercovers where they came from and what they were looking to do in Nuseirat, they replied that they had fled from Rafah due to "deadly shelling from the Israeli army", and decided to rent a house in the area. Then they pointed to the building where Noa Argamani was being held. They showed one of the locals a large amount of cash and offered to pay three times the going rate for rent. The local agreed to help and within three hours found a large house on the very street where Argamani was held. This was only 800 metres away from where the other three hostages were held.

A few days later, after settling into the house and getting to know the area, including shopping at the local market, and realising that they did not arouse suspicion, the undercovers began their mission: verifying the location where the hostages were held. They split into two teams. One team consisted of two commandos, a man dressed as a typical Gazan local and a woman dressed in a long black dress and hijab. They began marching down the street towards the ‘Al-Auda' medical centre where, in a nearby residential building 200 metres from the hospital, Noa Argamani was held. To add to their authenticity, the Undercovers stopped from time to time at stalls along the sides of the street, showing interest in the products while complaining about the difficult situation in Gaza. This was done in fluent Arabic with a perfect Gazan accent. Behind them, walked four more undercover men, armed to give backup.

The second team consisted of four female soldiers dressed as typical Arab women (one being pregnant) carrying plastic bags full of food products and vegetables. They walked in two pairs towards a nearby residential building, where, on the third floor, the three male hostages were held. Behind them walked four more undercover men armed to give them backup.

Meanwhile five other members of the undercover team stayed at the house to guard it and make sure the teams had not been exposed and that no nasty surprises would await them.

Three hours later, at the prearranged time, the two teams came back to the rented house and began to process the information they had obtained. Now it was confirmed: the four hostages were being held in two homes of Gazan families. The force commander confirmed to Israel that the two locations were correct.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant approved the operation on Thursday evening when a war cabinet and security cabinet meeting was canceled.

The Operation

The operation was carried out Saturday, June 8th in the early morning, the operation began with heavy bombing of the Nuseirat camp possibly to cause chaos and confusion between Hamas forces in the area.

Just before 11 am the commandos arrived with precise timing at the two targets and awaited the order to attack. Observations and technological surveillance measures from IDF aircraft reported that the area was ‘clean', with no suspicious movements near the two buildings. The information and live coverage of the alleys and the 800-metre-long street that separated the two target buildings were transmitted directly to the screens in two command and control rooms in Israel from which the operation was being overseen.

At 11.00 am exactly the commandos received the order to go ahead and stormed both buildings simultaneously in full coordination, to prevent the militants from endangering the hostages and the entire operation.

The area where Noa Argamani was being held:

The Israeli soldiers eliminated the militants guarding Noa Argamani, and within six minutes had rescued her unharmed from the apartment. They then took her to a waiting helicopter that immediately flew her back to Israel.

The extraction:

Her meeting with her father in Israel:

But while the rescue of Argamani went smoothly, the task of rescuing the other three hostages on the third floor of the second building was far more complicated.

They were held in the home of Dr Ahmed al-Jamal, a medical doctor, who was a Hamas activist. His son, Abdullah, a journalist who had written for Al-Jazeera, was also staying in the apartment.

Full post about the room they were held in:

Some of the commandos used a ladder to enter directly into the room where the three hostages were held. This coincided with the entry of the rest of the force who came up the stairs from the main entrance of the building.

But Commander Arnon Zmora's team, which broke into the apartment at the head of the force, encountered massive fire from around thirty Hamas militants in the apartment which fired towards the Israeli forces with machine guns, grenades and some using rocket-propelled grenade missiles. This is how Arnon Zmora was killed in combat.

The fact of the presence of 30 militants in the apartment had not been known to the undercover teams who had reported the information about the hostages' location back to Israel. It is assumed that the militants arrived at the apartment only that morning or the night before, to strengthen the guarding of the three hostages.

During the intense firefight, dozens of militants emerged from the tunnels around the building and began to fire at the Israeli fighters with machine guns and RPG missiles. The Israelis started making their way out of the building (several of them carrying Arnon Zmora

on a stretcher), running through smoke-filled alleys and the nearby market which was crowded with thousands of Gazans. The Israeli forces tried, under constant fire, to get to the rescue vehicle that was waiting for them, but it was hit by two RPG missiles.

Footage from the Yamam soldiers of the rescue showing them escaping with the hostages under intense fire:

The commander of the operation in Israel then activated ‘Plan B', the rescue plan that had been prepared in advance: a daring operation under massive, very close fire from the enemy, covered by Israeli fire from ground, sea and air.

With the help of tanks, hundreds of soldiers (from the Golani and Givati infantry brigades and paratroopers) charged on foot into the refugee camp, fighting face-to-face battles with Hamas militants while navy ships covered them from the west and air force helicopters from the east. Fire from the air hit the militants just ten metres from the Israeli soldiers.

Helicopters flying over Nuseirat during the operation:

Gazan footage of armor moving in to reinforce the forces:

The reinforcement forces and the air force managed to isolate the battle scene, providing a safe escape route for the main force escorting the three hostages.

Footage of the Paratroopers Reconnaissance Battalion along with armor helping secure the escape route:

Footage of the Kfir Brigade's Activity during the mission, helping secure the escape route:

After the battle, the three hostages were led by the fighters to one of the Israeli helicopters waiting for them and flew them to Israel.

Meanwhile, the air force planes bombed the buildings that held the hostages which collapsed within seconds.

The building Noa Argamani was held inside of:

The special forces soldiers then boarded the other two helicopters that took off back to Israel. Attempts to revive Arnon Zmora continued on the short flight, but he was pronounced dead on arrival in hospital.

Inside the cemetery, Zmora's mother Ruti eulogized her son, whom she said was not only “your mother's hero,” but also “an entire country's hero.”

“Your favorite movie as a child was ‘Robin Hood.' In second grade, you dressed up as a paratrooper. You looked up to Yoni Netanyahu for Operation Entebbe,” Channel 12 news quoted Ruti as saying, referring to the IDF hero — brother of the current prime minister — killed during the 1976 mission that saved over 100 Israeli hostages kidnapped to Uganda.

(James Huber)

This situation was captured on body camera footage that showed Huber's death virtually moment by moment. He was shot and killed on Feb. 12, 2022. The New York Attorney General's Office released the videos in March as part of the investigation.

Two of the videos show Nigro pursuing Huber during what police said was a chase with speeds up to 100 mph on Interstate 90 outside Buffalo around 10:40 a.m. the day of the shooting.

The third video shows Nigro shooting Huber during a confrontation in downtown Buffalo. Nigro can be seen reaching into the car and trying to pull Huber out when he shoots Huber and the car goes into reverse.

The shooting happened after Nigro encountered Huber's car in downtown Buffalo, where Huber had driven after leaving I-90 and getting on I-190 and then exiting onto downtown streets, police said. Near the end of the chase, police said, Huber's sedan struck a police vehicle.

At a news conference the day of the shooting, police said Huber's car was first seen driving "erratically" on I-90 at 10:38 a.m. on Feb. 12 and that it was later pulled over in Buffalo. Police also said troopers on patrol located Huber's vehicle on East Eagle Street, near the intersection of Washington Street.

Just prior to the shooting, Huber put the vehicle in reverse and tried to flee, briefly dragging Nigro, who was reaching into the vehicle, a police spokesman said at the news conference. "The trooper discharged their division-issued firearm at the suspect," the spokesman said.

Cary Arnold, a Pennsylvania woman who has a daughter with Huber, told the Buffalo News that Huber might have been heading for a rally in support of Canadian truckers protesting COVID-19 vaccine mandates at the time of the shooting.

The family of James Huber never interviewed anyone after the shooting, like how the mother of James Huber, Loraine Huber told News 4 by phone that she remains in shock after the death of her son. Loraine Huber did not want to do an interview, as she awaits the results of the investigation.

The labor union that represents New York State Police troopers said Nigro acted with justification.

"We believe that, at the conclusion of this matter, Trooper Nigro will be exonerated of any misconduct and the charges against him will be dismissed," Charles Murphy, the president of the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association, said in a statement. "Our understanding and review of the facts in this case confirm that, while the outcome was tragic, Trooper Nigro's actions were in accordance with his training and the law, and that he was justified in his use of force.

"As this case makes its way through the legal system, we look forward to a review and public release of the facts, including the dangerous actions of the driver that threatened the safety of innocent motorists on the Thruway and in the city of Buffalo, which justified Trooper Nigro's actions."

Murphy said Nigro has served as a trooper for nearly 16 years and has received two "Trooper of the Year" awards and a number of letters of commendation. He said Nigro also served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, including serving in active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, and received 14 service medals and ribbons as well as other awards.

"His service to the New York State Police and the U.S. Marine Corps has been exemplary," Murphy said in the statement.

The state trooper was charged by the New York attorney general's office with killing an unarmed man in downtown Buffalo by shooting him after a high-speed highway chase.

The trooper, Anthony Nigro IV, a 15-year State Police veteran, was charged with first- and second-degree manslaughter in the death of James Huber, 38, on Feb. 12, 2022, the attorney general, Letitia James, said in a news release.

Trooper Nigro, 39, pleaded not guilty at an arraignment in Erie County Supreme Court, Ms. James said. Justice M. William Boller, rejecting prosecutors' request that bail be set at $250,000, released Trooper Nigro on his own recognizance.

(Nigro in the middle of the two men as shown in both photos)

During 2024 Judge James Bargnesi found Nigro not guilty. Nigro's attorney said afterward that the case never should have been brought.

“He did what we expect heroic troopers to do: He put himself in harm's way to solve a dangerous threat,” John D'Alessandro told reporters.

EFFORTPOST "Two birds in one stone"

According to what the Israeli army announced today and authorized to publish, these are the two soldiers killed by Hamas snipers (Al-Qassam Brigade) with a single bullet, north of Beit Hanoun, in the north of the Gaza Strip. (May 22, 2024)

-Cpt. Israel Yudkin, 22, officer of the Netzah Yehuda battalion of the Kfir brigade, Kfar Chabad.

The last photo before he was killed:

The last video before his death:

-Staff Sgt. Eliyahu Haim Emsallem, 21, from the Netzah Yehuda battalion of the Kfir brigade, from Ra'anana.

A third soldier was announced dead in hospital after being seriously injured in this location of the fighting:

Chief sergeant. (res.) Gideon Chay DeRowe, 33, of the Combat Engineer Corps' elite Yahalom University.

🔹 Al-Qassam fighters monitor a Zionist force in a destroyed area north of Beit Hanoun

🔸 It is most likely that it is a Ghoul Mk.2 sniper simply because it operates with a Bolt Action system and not Semi-Automatic, as the sound of an empty bullet falling to the ground is not heard as a result of it being expelled from the rifle's fire chamber.

🔻 It appears that the Qassam sniper targeted the Israeli soldiers while they were standing and discussing among themselves.

🔥 In the first targeting, the Qassam sniper did not rush and waited until the first and second soldiers were on top of each other and succeeded in shooting them down with a double shot, which is a rare sniper rifle in the world of sniping.

  • The first soldier was injured in the back area, and he may have been injured in the spinal area due to his direct fall without the ability to move.

The second soldier was hit in the back of the chest on the right side.

🔥 Due to the stupidity of the Zionist soldiers and officers, instead of disappearing and withdrawing the wounded and dead as a result of the sniping operation and withdrawing, they remained in place without moving from it! It was a golden opportunity for the Qassam sniper to shoot the third person (usually the officer, according to his body language while talking to the soldiers, discussing with them, and standing among them)...

🔸 When calculating the speed of the bullet (between 770 and 928 meters/second for the types mentioned) along with the time period that the bullet took from the moment of firing to the moment it hit the Zionist soldier (0.8 seconds) through the mathematical equation (speed = distance / time), we get the distance, which is ( Between 616 and 742 meters approximately).

🔻 The bullets used are mostly of the AP type, meaning armor piercing, which is used on local Ghoul Mk.2 rifles of caliber 12.7x99 mm and on Chinese M99 rifles of caliber 12.7x108 mm.

🔻🔥 Correct, wonderful and rare shooting that will be recorded in the record of rare and very professional sniper shooters.

EFFORTPOST Shoko Asahara: The Founder Father of Aum Shinrikyo

Shoko Asahara was both the leader and founder of one of Japan's most dangerous new doomsday cults, Aum Shinrikyo, established in 1987 and still existing with 1,650 members. His cult was solely responsible for one of Japan's deadliest sarin attacks in 1995 in the subways of Tokyo, killing 13 to 14 and injuring 1,050. In this undated photo shown above, he is attempting to "levitate" in a room which most likely has a trampoline attached on the ground he sits on.

In Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, on March 2, 1955, Shoko Asahara, better known as Chizuo Matsumoto, was born into a poor family of tatami-mat makers. Admitted to a school for the blind at age 6 due to being born partially blind in both eyes from infantile glaucoma, Asahara faced early challenges. Upon graduating in 1975, he pursued studies in pharmacology and acupuncture after being rejected from medical school. His ambition was to open his own pharmacy in Chiba, specializing in Chinese medications. However, his business met a downfall due to fraud after he was exposed in 1982 for selling fake remedies.

During this period, Asahara developed an interest in religion, reportedly engaging in various religious studies while supporting his growing family. Alongside his marriage, he delved into exploring concepts from Taoism and incorporated practices such as yoga, meditation, esoteric Christianity, and Buddhism into his lifestyle. He grew out his hair and beard giving his now known name, Shoko Asahara. His name "Shoko" literally translates "an offering of incense" in the Japanese language. He couldn't make up his fucking mind.

During his stay in India in 1984, he met the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, the head of Tibetan Buddhism at that time. He told his followers that he achieved Enlightenment, met Shiva, and preached the one and only "true" teachings of Buddhism. I'm not a Buddhist myself, so I don't fucking know. The funny part was the Dalai Lama distanced himself from Asahara, claiming he met "a strange Japanese man" with whom he had no connection, he saw him as a fucking random. In 1987, Asahara permanently moved back to Japan and assumed the title of guru. He began claiming he had mastered meditation to the extent of being able to lift his whole self up in the air and fly around rooms. He announced this by distributing silly pamphlets. You can tell this wizard nigga wanted publicity and unfortunately got some in the late '90s.

In 1987, Aum Shinrikyo, then known as "Aleph," was founded in a one-bedroom apartment in Tokyo's Shibuya ward. It began as a yoga and meditation class called the Aum Immortal Mountain Wizard Association, and I'm not fucking joking; that's what the class is actually called. This cult grew in the years that followed, eventually becoming a religious organization in 1989, attracting a large number of graduates from Japan's elite universities and earning the moniker "religion for the elite."

This cult was extremely controversial in Japan. The cult did not consider committing serious crimes (murder and terrorism) until Asahara was introduced to the concept of Biblical prophecies. Again, this nigga was attempting to reach his mythical realm. This one is going to make you go batshit. Aum Shinrikyo published articles on fucking comics and fucking ANIME, which relate to their religious beliefs and popular anime themes. Basically Asahara was a version of Chris Chan but homeless and a wannabe Buddhist. As this cult forced their members to give money and killed a member who tried to leave in 1989, they attracted a great deal of attention in the late 1980s.

Video down below of Aum Shinrikyo Anime (Chouetsu Sekai - Episode 1: Levitation) [English subtitles]:

Image of Aum Shinrikyo Manga:

Short info: This cult was involved with these incidents as well:

Sakamoto family murder, 1989: Sakamoto Family Murder, 1989: Aum Shinrikyo members murdered lawyer Tsutsumi Sakamoto, his wife, and their baby.

Tsutsumi Sakamoto wife and child including their memorial tomb stone:

Matsumoto sarin attack, 1994: Aum Shinrikyo released sarin gas in Matsumoto, Nagano, killing 8 and injuring hundreds.

Blueprint of the sarin gas dispensing truck, based on the refrigerator truck used:

Members of the Aum Shinrikyo cult discharged the deadly nerve toxin sarin on March 20, 1995, when they broke into the Tokyo subway system. In the ongoing terror campaign across Japan, the subway attack by the unknown cult was the deadliest. Sarin was unleashed on three Tokyo Metro lines at rush hour, resulting in the deaths of 13 individuals at the time, serious injuries to 50 (who subsequently passed away and left their victims permanently disabled), and hundreds of people experiencing temporary blindness. This resulted in the arrest of nearly 200 people, including cult leaders, and police action persisted all summer long. The deadliest terrorist attack to ever strike Japan. Bet these niggas drink sarin daily.

Pictures from the incident that show the victims and the cleanup efforts:

A death sentence was imposed on Asahara in 2004 as a result of his conviction for murder and plotting mass murder. The day of July 6th, 2018, he was executed by hanging. LOOOOOOL

Video comes from around May 2007. tl;dr of what's happening there: reportedly, prisoners tortured were a supporters of Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement), and they were caught by these on Fatah side (main political organization of the Palestine Liberation Army). They're both Palestinians. What prisoners are ordered to repeat is humiliating considering their faith and affiliations.

This isn't post similar to the previous one, due to the nature of this video. Especially that, quoting Kawther Salam, the autor of the article providing partial translation:

I translated the video because I am sure that most foreigners who see the video do not understand the whole story behind it, and I also found some mistakes in the attribution of this video on other websites

I couldn't find out the other websites. Since 2007 they're likely took down or are in Arabic, which means I can't easily search through them. YT video was removed, DailyMotion video was removed after receiving 25 views, and Google Videos (as DM video, linked on at some point) removed the file, too. LiveLeak version 'was manipulated', which I guess means the title was irrelevant or the sides reversed. Author of the translation didn't host that video locally.

The article providing both the translation and some context of manipulation was uploaded on 24th of June 2007. However, I saw a comment from user claiming they've seen the video some weeks before the Hamas' takeover of Gaza. As Battle of Gaza happened on 10-15th of June 2007, that'd mean the video was already available at least in May 2007.

Below are timestamps with both descriptions of what happens and the parts of dialogue translated. The author haven't provided the timestamps, but they're partially possible to tell from the Arabic transliteration (at least in these parts when sound isn't distorted). It requires explaining who is who, starting from Muhammad Dahlan - Palestinian political and security figure, and a longtime member of Fatah. 'Executive Force' refers to a security force in Gaza established by the Hamas government in 2006.

0:00 to 0:20: prisoner is asking for mercy, while jailer pushes a metal stick against his spine. Then prisoners - including one you see from 0:20 onwards - are asked 'Who is their master?', and they together answer 'Samih'. It refers to Samih Al Madhoun, head of Dahlan's death squads in Gaza. He was the one kidnapping them and possibly torturing in this video. Samih got killed on 14th of June 2007, chased down after killing someone at the border while trying to escape from Gaza.

From 0:20 onwards, to around 1:20, most of the time you see a blindfolded man with 'Executive Forces' t-shirt, which means he's a member of Hamas. He is asked, 'Who is the dog, what’s written on your shirt? Who is the dog who gave you this shirt?' and forced to answer that the dog is Said Siyam (the former minister for interior and security from Hamas). The jailer in the assault boots either beats the man with a long lash, twists his head a bit or presses the foot against his chest, abdomen and thigh or pelvic area. For the rest of this scene, he mostly 'confirms' that 'Said Siyam is the dog'.

The author mentioned that this man in black t-shirt is tortured very seriously, but didn't mention specifically that, apart from other types of abuse, certain trigger points are pressed there. If you don't remember where they are, check Google Images later. In the meanwhile, what prisoners are chanting is, quoting, chants of victory for Samih, in which they insult themselves and express their “admiration” and fear of Samih. They also call Samih a hero.

One prisoner, after 3:10, is singing 'Oh mother, the beautiful youth has departed from me and disappeared'. Another one was beaten and started asked for the mercy of God, also stating: 'I didn’t say that, I swear in the name of my God that I didn’t say that'.

Here it's hard to figure out timestamps, as it happens partially parallel to the other events. In the meanwhile (of the previously described events), screams were getting louder while prisoners were told to sing for Fatah: 'Fatah is the mother of the people (nation), keep your Fatah flag raised, the victory is for Fatah'.

Prisoners are told to sing: 'Abu Fadhi is our Master, Abu Fadi is our darling, with our spirits and our blood, we will sacrifice for Dahlan'. After repeating it several times, they're ordered to sing on repeat: 'Abu Fadhi is the master of the creation, Abu Fadhi is the Master of the universe. Our God has placed Abu Fadhi over the whole Universe'. Abu Fahdi is a son of Muhammad Dahlan.

3:45 onwards: jailer in military uniform is stepping on prisoner's chest or pelvic area. The blindfolded guy is asked, 'Who is your master?' and replies: 'Samih'. The next question is: 'Who is the dog?', and after the prisoner replies 'Walid', he is asked to say 'dog's' full name: 'Walid Al-Shaqrah!', repeated all over. Walid Al-Shaqrah is one of the officers of the 'Executive Forces' of Hamas. Another question is 'Who is the person you worked with and whose sister is a whore and fucks around?', and prisoner also replies 'Walid Al-Shaqrah'. 7;20 to 7;50: guy in black t-shirt again,he's just shown repeating the same thing as the rest of the prisoners.

After 9:20, tne another song for Dahlan is: 'Abu Fadhi is our darling, Abu Fadhi is our darling. Go and destroy Tel Aviv, go and destroy Tel Aviv!'. Next what prisoners are ordered to sing is, after 9:50: 'Walid Al-Shakrah is a coward, and a mercenary for Iran!'. Most Palestinians are Sunnis (at least back then?), so are these belonging to Hamas, so more humiliation is forced upon them by ordering prisoners to sing: 'Hamas Shia, Hamas Shia,... Walid coward,...'.

⠀UNRELATED BONUS

It felt like you may like some more torture, and while I have no other torture from the period before June 2007, here's a testimony. It comes from a website of B’Tselem – The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories.

April 2005, Loay Ashqar was arrested and taken to interrogation by the Israel Security Agency. Shortly after being arrested, a physician at the detention facility examined him and stated that he "has no physical or mental problem." In May 2007, Ashqar was released from prison. In his testimony to B'Tselem, he says that ISA agents tortured him during interrogation, causing him severe disability.

EFFORTPOST The Israeli-Lebanese attacks today - More than 200 rockets fired by Hezbollah at Israeli cities

Since 5AM today, Hezbollah has been launching rockets and drones towards Israeli cities in the northern border, these attacks against Israeli civilians and military targets are in response to the IDF assassination of a Hezbollah commander yesterday, Taleb Abdullah.

Al Jazeera from a Hezbollah source on the attacks from this morning states:

We attacked 15 military targets in the Galilee and the Golan at the same time.

We launched 30 drones and 150 rockets towards Israel this morning.

This is the most extensive attack we have carried out since October 8.

The purpose of the attack is to deter Israel and this is also a response to the assassination of the senior Talib Abdullah.

Updates by Israel firefighters as of 3PM:

Update (15:15) on Fires in the Northern District Following the Latest Barrage

Firefighters, in collaboration with KKL and RTG forces, have been operating over the past hour at more than 15 active fire sites due to rocket impacts and interceptions in the Upper Galilee and Golan Heights regions.

21 firefighting teams from the Northern District and additional districts are concentrating efforts on the main sites:

Upper Galilee:

Extensive fire in Birya Forest - many teams are working to extinguish the fire.

Golan Heights:

Several fire sites in open areas near Qela.

Several fire sites near Katzrin.

Fire in an open area near El Rom.

Update on the situation of the forest fires as of 6pm:

Spokesperson for Fire and Rescue Israel | Northern District

Status Update (18:00) on Fires in the Northern District as a Result of Rocket Barrages from Lebanon

Firefighters, with the assistance of KKL (Jewish National Fund), the Nature and Parks Authority, the IDF, local units, and other bodies, have been working since the afternoon across multiple fire sites in the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee due to rocket strikes and interceptions.

The firefighting teams have managed to control some of the fire hotspots in the area. Currently, efforts are concentrated on two main sites:

15 firefighting teams, 10 KKL teams, and IDF teams are working to extinguish a large forest fire spreading under windy conditions. At this stage, the forces have managed to stop the fire from reaching the houses in the Birya community. Firefighters are also working to protect the settlement of Amuka from an advancing fire front.

Golan Heights

9 firefighting teams, 9 teams from the Nature and Parks Authority, and a KKL team, along with cowboys from the Golan Regional Council, are operating at several fire sites in the central Golan Heights area. Currently, efforts are concentrated near Katzrin and Kidmat Tzvi.

Acting Commander of the Galil Golan Station, Deputy Commissioner Eli Mor: "Since the early afternoon, we have experienced numerous falls in the Safed area and the Golan Heights. Firefighters are working non-stop under the threat of rockets, fighting to prevent the fire from spreading towards settlements and additional facilities. The teams have been operating for nearly five hours with determination and maximum effort and continue to work at this time to extinguish the many fires in the north."

IDF Statements have said that the response to these attacks will be heavy.

Hezbollah in a statement says it launched Katyusha and Falaq rockets at six army bases in northern Israel, and several more swarms of explosive-laden drones at three more bases in the area.

The IDF reported that some 40 rockets crossed the border, many of which were intercepted by air defenses, but others impacted, causing at least 15 fires. Two men in their 20s were also lightly hurt by shrapnel.

Another seven "suspicious aerial targets" -- thought to be drones -- were identified, the IDF said. Four of the suspected drones were shot down by air defenses, the IDF says, adding that there were no injuries.

In the Israeli city of Safed, school has been cancelled tomorrow due to the Hezbollah attacks today.

I've been wanting to share my story for a while now, and I think it's finally time. For the longest time, I've struggled with my identity, unsure of who I really am. But thanks to an unexpected journey, I've come to accept myself fully. Surprisingly, WPD has been the catalyst to this discovery!

It all started innocently enough. I stumbled upon this website; WPD. "What an odd place to discover yourself", you may be thinking. But hear me out. Yes, this place may seem violent and mean, however, this isn't just a gore site. This is a place where users share their personal stories and experiences, be it through the /social tab, or via the chat room. As I scrolled through the site and interacted with various users, I found myself drawn to the stories of transgender individuals in particular. Their beauty, courage and authenticity resonated with me in a way I couldn't quite explain.

At first, I was just curious. I read their comments, watched videos (unrelated to trans violence, and rather, trans empowerment), and engaged in discussions with members of the transgender community - which is very substantial on this site (really, I think more than half the users on this site are trans. It's an amazing place). But the more I immersed myself in their world, the more I began to question my own identity.

I've always felt like something was missing, like I didn't quite fit into the mold society had assigned me. But it wasn't until I started connecting with transgender individuals on WPD that I realized why. Deep down, I knew I wasn't living as my true self.

It was a gradual process, full of moments of self-reflection and introspection. I started to experiment with my appearance, trying out different styles and expressions. And with each step, I felt a little bit closer to who I was meant to be. Let me tell you, fellow users, skirts are COMFORTABLE. Pair that with some stockings or some long socks, and a cute A cup bra (I hope to grow some day) then I genuinely feel so.. Perfect. I'm sure you'd all agree, hehe :3

But the turning point came when I finally admitted it to myself: "I'm not a man. I'm a woman!". It was both terrifying and liberating to speak those words out loud, but it was also undeniably true. The first place I stated it to another person was within the WPD chat. I expected nothing but slurs from some users, however, their support was like no other, and I've even formed a polyamerous non-gender conforming relationship with some WPD users in chat. Since then, I've never been happier.

From that moment on, I knew I had to embrace my identity fully. I began my journey of transitioning, seeking out support from friends, family, and the transgender community. It hasn't been easy, but every step forward feels like a victory.

There have been challenges along the way, of course. Society isn't always accepting of those who dare to be different. But I refuse to let fear hold me back from living authentically.

So here I am, on the other side of self-discovery, embracing my true identity as a woman. And while the journey isn't over yet, I'm excited to see where it takes me. I'm now taking estrogens, I'm booked in for both top & bottom surgery, and I've even bought myself a pair of these transgender themed Marsey socks to celebrate!!!

To anyone out there struggling with their own identity, know that you're not alone. It's okay to question who you are, and it's okay to be different. Embrace your truth, whatever that may be, and never be afraid to live authentically.

Until next time!

Much love xoxoxo

After the 2014 Gaza war had begun, the leadership of the al-Qassam brigades had begun carefully planning this attack, and had obtained maps and aerial images of the site before sending a reconnaissance team to verify and gain additional information. Upon confirmation of the information, preparation of the attack began with careful planning and examination of weaponry, with every militant given a direct role and command in the operation. The group then went into the tunnel 24 hours in advance and had made several more reconnaissance procedures. The militants were in contact with their upper-command throughout the duration of the entire operation, and the field commander was the first to leave the tunnel and lead direction to the other militants. The attack began immediately at close range, in which 2 Zionist soldiers were neutralized. In the middle of the firefight, al-Qassam Brigade militants launched missiles into the observation tower (Not shown in video, but confirmed by the IDF. Israeli media states that 4 of the 5 soldiers killed died in this part of the operation). After this, there was an attempt to kidnap one of the Zionist soldiers (Who was seen screaming and being hit in the video), but this soldier was instead executed at the site due to the struggle they put up and the very short amount of time the militants had to evacuate the site. The militants escaped back into the tunnels and blocked off the entrance via explosives, and the operation was complete in only a few minutes. The al-Qassam Brigade claims that none of their militants were killed or injured in the operation.

CHILD WARNING EFFORTPOST The heinous murder of Christine Silawan

Christine Silawan, a 16-year-old high school student, was found dead in a vacant lot in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, on March 11, 2019. Half of her face was skinned to the skull, and her body had multiple stab wounds. She was also naked from the waist down and was thought to be raped.

Her killer, 43-year-old suspect Renato "Renren" Llenes, was first apprehended by the police but later on, voluntarily confessed to the gruesome crime claiming that his conscience haunted him. A year later, before receiving his sentence, he was found dead after allegedly hanging himself to death. The case has since been closed.

-Suspect Renato "Renren" Llenes voluntarily confessed his crime after being caught by the Philippine National Police.

According to the killer, he posed as a teenage boy on Facebook to lure Christine. Things went heated for him when he got jealous. So on March 10, 2019, Lllenes asked the victim to meet him for the first time outside the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish church, where Christine helped collect offerings. The killer pretended to be the driver of her supposed Facebook chatmate to get the victim to go with him. Later on, he brought Christine to a vacant lot and killed her by stabbing her multiple times with scissors.

Afterward, he skinned the teenage girl's face with the knowledge he gained through YouTube tutorials; he did so to avoid anyone identifying the victim. The suspect also claimed that he was under the influence of illegal drugs and attempted to rape Christine. After peeling off her face, Llenes took the victim's bag, carried the skin, and walked away from the crime scene.

After Llenes' confession, the authorities have retrieved pieces of evidence linking Llenes to the crime, such as the bloodied scissors and his shirts with drops of blood. They also confirmed in CCTV footage obtained in the initial parts of the investigation that Llenes was with Christine the night before she was found dead. - scissors used by self-confessed suspect Renato Llenes to murder 17-year-old Christine Lee Silawan in Cebu.

On May 24, 2020, a year after confessing to the gruesome crime, Renato Llenes was found dead inside his detention cell's comfort room at the Lapu-Lapu City Jail after purportedly taking his own life. Earlier, despite confessing to the crime, Llenes's camp had tried to enter into a plea bargain agreement, wherein he would enter a guilty plea with the condition that the case will be downgraded to homicide instead of murder. However, the prosecution camp did not agree to the plea bargain as they were confident of claiming a conviction with their evidence on hand. Court proceedings regarding the case were stalled due to the government-imposed lockdown.

Initially, the prosecution had already presented one witness from the police force to testify how Llenes became their suspect for the death of Silawan. Aside from the police reports and Llenes' earlier confession, the latter's live-in partner and some neighbors are also among those who are supposed to testify against Llenes in court. Subsequently, the case of Christine Silawan's killing was closed. This case prompted the public to reinstate Death Penalty.

Andrei Chikatilo was born on October 16, 1936, in Yablochnoye, located in the Ukraine state of the USSR.

Chikatilo's parents were both collective farm labourers who lived in a one-room hut and who received no wages for their work, but instead received the right to cultivate a plot of land behind the family hut. The family seldom had sufficient food; Chikatilo himself later claimed not to have eaten bread until the age of twelve, adding that he and his family often had to eat grass and leaves in an effort to stave off hunger. Throughout his childhood, Chikatilo was repeatedly told by his mother Anna that prior to his birth, an older brother of his named Stepan had, at age 4, been kidnapped and cannibalized by starving neighbours, although it has never been independently established whether this incident actually occurred, or if a Stepan Chikatilo even existed. Nonetheless, Chikatilo recalled his childhood as being blighted by poverty, ridicule, hunger, and war.

When the Soviet Union entered World War II, Chikatilo's father was drafted into the Red Army and subsequently taken prisoner after being wounded in combat. Between 1941 and 1944, Chikatilo witnessed some of the effects of the Nazi occupation of Ukraine, which he described as "horrors", adding he witnessed bombings, fires, and shootings from which he and his mother would hide in cellars and ditches. On one occasion, Chikatilo and his mother were forced to watch their own hut burn to the ground. With his father at war, Chikatilo and his mother slept sharing a single bed. He was a chronic bed wetter and was berated and beaten by his mother for each offense.

In 1943 Chikatilo's mother gave birth to a baby girl, Tatyana. Because Chikatilo's father had been conscripted in 1941, he could not have fathered this child. As many Ukrainian women were raped by German soldiers in World War II, it has been speculated Tatyana was conceived as a result of a rape committed by a German soldier. As Chikatilo and his mother lived in a one-room hut, this rape may have been committed in Chikatilo's presence.

In September 1944, Chikatilo began his schooling. Although shy and ardently studious as a child, he was physically weak and regularly attended school in homespun clothing and, by 1946, with his stomach swollen from hunger resulting from the post-war famine which plagued much of the Soviet Union. On several occasions, this hunger caused Chikatilo to faint both at home and at school, and he was consistently targeted by bullies who regularly mocked him over his physical stature and timid nature. At home, Chikatilo and his sister were constantly berated by their mother. Tatyana later recalled that in spite of the hardships endured by her parents, their father, Roman, was a kind man, whereas their mother was harsh and unforgiving toward her children.

Chikatilo developed a passion for reading and memorizing data, and often studied at home, both to increase his sense of self-worth and to compensate for his myopia, which often prevented him from reading the classroom blackboard. To his teachers, Chikatilo was an excellent student upon whom they would regularly bestow praise and commendation.

By his teens, Chikatilo was both a model student and an ardent Communist. He was appointed editor of his school newspaper at age 14 and chairman of the pupils' Communist committee two years later. An avid reader of Communist literature, he was also delegated the task of organizing street marches. Although Chikatilo claimed learning did not come easy to him due to headaches and a poor memory, he was the only student from his collective farm to complete the final year of study, graduating with excellent grades in 1954.

yearbook photo-

At the onset of puberty, Chikatilo discovered that he suffered from chronic impotence, worsening his social awkwardness and self-hatred. He was shy in the company of women; his first crush, at age 17, had been on a girl named Lilya Barysheva, with whom he had become acquainted through his school newspaper, yet he was chronically nervous in her company and never asked her for a date. The same year, Chikatilo jumped upon an 11-year-old friend of his younger sister and wrestled her to the ground, ejaculating as the girl struggled in his grasp.

Following his graduation, Chikatilo applied for a scholarship at Moscow State University. Although he passed the entrance examination with good-to-excellent scores, his grades were not deemed good enough for acceptance. Chikatilo speculated his scholarship application was rejected due to his father's tainted war record (his father had been branded a traitor for being taken prisoner in 1943), but the truth was that other students had performed better in a highly competitive exam. He did not attempt to enroll at another university; instead, he travelled to the city of Kursk, where he worked as a labourer for three months before—in 1955—enrolling in a vocational school, where he studied to become a communications technician. The same year, Chikatilo formed his first serious relationship, with a local girl two years his junior. On three separate occasions, the couple attempted intercourse, although on each occasion, Chikatilo was unable to sustain an erection. After 18 months, the girl broke off their relationship.

Army service-

Upon completion of his two-year vocational training, Chikatilo chose to relocate to the Urals city of Nizhny Tagil to work upon a long-term construction project. While working in this city, he also undertook correspondence courses in engineering with the Moscow Electrotechnical Institute of Communication. He worked in the Urals for two years until he was drafted into the Soviet Army in 1957.

Chikatilo performed his compulsory military service between 1957 and 1960, assigned first to serve with border guards in Central Asia, then to a KGB communications unit in Berlin. Here, his work record was unblemished, and he joined the Communist Party in 1960, shortly before his military service ended.

Upon completing his army service, Chikatilo returned to his native village to live with his parents. He soon became acquainted with a young divorcee, and the pair began a three-month relationship, which ended after several unsuccessful attempts at intercourse, when the woman innocently asked her friends for advice as to how Chikatilo might overcome his inability to maintain an erection. As a result, most of his peers discovered his impotence. In a 1993 interview regarding this incident, Chikatilo stated: "Girls were going behind my back, whispering that I was impotent. I was so ashamed. I tried to hang myself. My mother and some young neighbours pulled me out of the noose. Well, I thought no one would want such a shamed man. So I had to run away from there, away from my homeland."

Move to Rostov-on-Don-

After several months, Chikatilo found a job as a communications engineer in a town located north of Rostov-on-Don. He relocated to Russia in 1961, renting a small apartment close to his workplace. The same year, his younger sister, Tatyana, finished her schooling and moved into his apartment (his parents would relocate to the Rostov-on-Don region shortly thereafter). Tatyana lived with her brother for six months before marrying a local youth and moving into her in-laws' home; she noted nothing untoward with regard to her brother's lifestyle, except his chronic shyness around women, and resolved to help her brother find a wife and start a family.

In 1963 Chikatilo married a woman named Feodosia Odnacheva, to whom he had been introduced by his younger sister. According to Chikatilo, although he was attracted to Feodosia, his marriage was basically an arranged one which occurred barely two weeks after they had met and in which the decisive roles were played by his sister and her husband.

Chikatilo later claimed that his marital sex life was minimal and that, after his wife understood he was unable to maintain an erection, they agreed she would conceive by him ejaculating externally and pushing his semen inside her vagina with his fingers. In 1965, Feodosia gave birth to a daughter, Lyudmila. Four years later, in 1969, a son named Yuri was born.

Teaching career-

In 1970 Chikatilo completed a five-year correspondence course in Russian literature and obtained his degree in the subject from Rostov University. Shortly before obtaining his degree, Chikatilo obtained a job managing regional sports activities. He remained in this position for one year, before beginning his career as a teacher of Russian language and literature in Novoshakhtinsk.

Chikatilo was largely ineffective as a teacher; although knowledgeable in the subjects he taught, he was seldom able to maintain discipline in his classes and was regularly subjected to mockery by his students who, he claimed, took advantage of his modest nature.

Sexual assaults-

In May 1973, Chikatilo committed his first known sexual assault upon one of his pupils. In this incident, he swam towards a 15-year-old girl and groped her breasts and genitals, ejaculating as the girl struggled against his grasp. Months later, Chikatilo sexually assaulted another teenage girl whom he had locked in his classroom. He was not disciplined for either of these incidents, or for the occasions in which fellow teachers observed Chikatilo fondling himself in the presence of his students. One of Chikatilo's duties at this school was ensuring his students who boarded at the school were present in their dormitories in the evenings; on several occasions, he is known to have entered the girls' dormitory in the hope of seeing them undressed.

In response to the increasing number of complaints lodged against him by his students, the director of the school summoned Chikatilo to a formal meeting and informed him he should resign voluntarily, or be fired. Chikatilo left his employment discreetly and found another job as a teacher at another school in Novoshakhtinsk in January 1974. He lost this job as a result of staff cutbacks in September 1978, before finding another teaching position in Shakhty.

Chikatilo's career as a teacher ended in March 1981 following several complaints of child molestation against pupils of both sexes. The same month, he began a job as a supply clerk for a factory based in Rostov which produced construction materials. This role required Chikatilo to travel extensively across much of the Soviet Union to either physically purchase the raw materials required to fulfill production quotas, or to negotiate supply contracts.

Andrei Chikatilo's first victim-

Murder of Yelena Zakotnova-

In September 1978, Chikatilo moved to Shakhty, a coal mining town near Rostov-on-Don, where he committed his first documented murder. On 22 December, Chikatilo lured a 9-year-old girl named Yelena Zakotnova to an old house which he had secretly purchased; he attempted to rape her but failed to achieve an erection. When the girl struggled, he choked her and stabbed her three times in the abdomen, ejaculating while stabbing the child. In an interview after his arrest, Chikatilo later recalled that after stabbing Yelena, the girl had "said something very hoarsely", whereupon he strangled her into unconsciousness before throwing her body into the nearby Grushevka River. Her body was found two days later.

Numerous pieces of evidence linked Chikatilo to Zakotnova's murder: spots of blood had been found in the snow near the house Chikatilo had purchased; neighbours had noted that Chikatilo had been present in the house on the evening of 22 December; Zakotnova's school rucksack had been found upon the opposite bank of the river at the end of the street (indicating the girl had been thrown into the river at this location); and a witness had given police a detailed description of a man closely resembling Chikatilo, whom she had seen talking with Zakotnova at the bus stop where the girl had last been seen alive. Despite these facts, a 25-year-old labourer named Aleksandr Kravchenko who, as a teenager, had served a prison sentence for the rape and murder of a teenage girl, was arrested for the crime. A search of Kravchenko's home revealed spots of blood on his wife's jumper: the blood type was determined to match both Zakotnova and Kravchenko's wife.

Kravchenko had a watertight alibi for the afternoon of 22 December: he had been at home with his wife and a friend of hers the entire afternoon, and neighbours of the couple were able to verify this. Nonetheless, the police, having threatened Kravchenko's wife with being an accomplice to murder and her friend with perjury, obtained new statements in which the women claimed Kravchenko had not returned home until late in the evening on the day of the murder. Confronted with these altered testimonies, Kravchenko confessed to the killing. He was tried for the murder in 1979. At his trial, Kravchenko retracted his confession and maintained his innocence, stating his confession had been obtained under extreme duress. Despite his retraction, he was convicted of the murder and sentenced to death in 1979. This sentence was commuted to 15 years' imprisonment (the maximum possible length of imprisonment at the time) by the Supreme Court in December, 1980. Under pressure from the victim's relatives, Kravchenko was retried and eventually executed for Zakotnova's murder in July 1983.

Following Zakotnova's murder, Chikatilo was able to achieve sexual arousal and orgasm only through stabbing and slashing women and children to death, and he later claimed that the urge to relive the experience had overwhelmed him although he did stress that, initially, he had struggled to resist these urges.

Second murder and subsequent killings-

On 3 September 1981 Chikatilo encountered a 17-year-old boarding school student, named Larisa Tkachenko, standing at a bus stop as he exited a public library in Rostov city centre. According to his subsequent confession, Chikatilo lured Tkachenko to a forest near the Don River with the pretext of drinking vodka and "relaxing". When they reached a secluded area, he threw the girl to the ground before tearing off her clothes and attempting intercourse, as Tkachenko remonstrated against his actions. When Chikatilo failed to achieve an erection, he forced mud inside her mouth to stifle her screams before battering and strangling her to death. As he had no knife, Chikatilo mutilated the body with his teeth and a stick; he also tore one nipple from Tkachenko's body with his teeth, before loosely covering her body with leaves, branches, and torn pages of newspaper. Tkachenko's body was found the following day.

Nine months after the murder of Tkachenko, on 12 June 1982, Chikatilo travelled by bus to the Bagayevsky District of Rostov to purchase vegetables. Having to change buses in the village of Donskoi, he decided to continue his journey on foot. Walking away from the bus station, he encountered a 13-year-old girl, named Lyubov Biryuk, who was herself walking home from a shopping trip. Once the path both were taking together was shielded from the view of potential witnesses by bushes, Chikatilo pounced upon Biryuk, dragged her into nearby undergrowth, tore off her dress, and killed her by stabbing and slashing her to death. When her body was found on 27 June, the medical examiner discovered evidence of 22 knife wounds inflicted to the head, neck, chest, and pelvic region. Further wounds found on the skull suggested the killer had attacked Biryuk from behind with the handle and blade of his knife. In addition, several striations were discovered upon Biryuk's eye sockets.

Following Biryuk's murder, Chikatilo no longer attempted to resist his homicidal urges: between July and September 1982, he killed a further five victims between the ages of nine and 18. He established a pattern of approaching children, runaways, and young vagrants at bus or railway stations, enticing them to a nearby forest or other secluded area, and killing them, usually by stabbing, slashing and eviscerating the victim with a knife; although some victims, in addition to receiving a multitude of knife wounds, were also strangled or battered to death.

Many of the victims' bodies bore evidence of mutilation to the eye sockets. Pathologists concluded the injuries were caused by a knife, leading investigators to the conclusion the killer had gouged out the eyes of his victims. Chikatilo's adult female victims were often prostitutes or homeless women whom he would lure to secluded areas with promises of alcohol or money. Chikatilo would typically attempt intercourse with these victims, but he would usually be unable to achieve or maintain an erection; this would send him into a murderous fury, particularly if the woman mocked his impotence. He would achieve orgasm only when he stabbed and slashed the victim to death. His child and adolescent victims were of both sexes; Chikatilo would lure these victims to secluded areas using a variety of ruses, usually formed in the initial conversation with the victim, such as promising them assistance or company, or offering to show them a shortcut, a chance to view rare stamps, films or coins, or with an offer of food or candy. He would usually overpower these victims once they were alone, often tying their hands behind their backs with a length of rope before stuffing mud or loam into the victims' mouth to silence their screams, and then proceed to kill them. After the killing, Chikatilo would make rudimentary—though seldom serious—efforts to conceal the body before leaving the crime scene.

On 11 December 1982 Chikatilo encountered a 10-year-old girl, named Olga Stalmachenok, riding a bus to her parents' home in Novoshakhtinsk and persuaded the child to leave the bus with him. She was last seen by a fellow passenger, who reported the girl was being led firmly by the hand by a middle-aged man. Stalmachenok was lured to a cornfield on the outskirts of Novoshakhtinsk before she was killed. Chikatilo stabbed the girl in excess of 50 times around the head and body, ripped open her chest and excised her lower bowel and uterus.

By January 1983, four victims thus far killed had been tentatively linked to the same killer. A Moscow police team, headed by Major Mikhail Fetisov, was sent to Rostov-on-Don to direct the investigation. Fetisov established a team of 10 investigators, based in Rostov, charged with solving all four cases. In March, Fetisov assigned a newly appointed specialist forensic analyst, Viktor Burakov, to head the investigation. The following month, Olga Stalmachenok's body was found. Burakov was summoned to the crime scene, where he examined the numerous knife wounds and eviscerations conducted upon the child, and the striations on her eye sockets. Burakov later stated that, as he noted the striations upon Stalmachenok's eye sockets, any doubts about the presence of a serial killer evaporated.

Chikatilo did not kill again until June 1983, when he murdered a 15-year-old Armenian girl named Laura Sarkisyan; her body was found close to an unmarked railway platform near Shakhty. By September, he had killed a further five victims. The accumulation of bodies found and the similarities between the pattern of wounds inflicted on the victims forced the Soviet authorities to acknowledge that a serial killer was on the loose. On 6 September 1983 the public prosecutor of the USSR formally linked six of the murders thus far committed to the same killer.

Due to the sheer savagery of the murders and the precision of the eviscerations upon the victims' bodies, police theorized that the killings had been conducted by either a group harvesting organs to sell for transplant, the work of a Satanic cult, or a mentally ill individual. Much of the police effort concentrated upon the theory that the killer must be either mentally ill, homosexual, or a paedophile, and the alibis of all individuals who had either spent time in psychiatric wards or had been convicted of homosexuality or paedophilia were checked and logged in a card filing system. Registered sex offenders were also investigated and, if their alibi was corroborated, eliminated from the inquiry.

Beginning in September 1983, several young men confessed to the murders, although these individuals were often intellectually disabled youths who admitted to the crimes only under prolonged and often brutal interrogation. Three known homosexuals and a convicted sex offender committed suicide as a result of the investigators' heavy-handed tactics. As a result of the investigation into the killings, more than 1000 unrelated crimes, including 95 murders and 245 rapes, were solved.

However, as police obtained confessions from suspects, bodies continued to be discovered, proving that the suspects who had confessed could not be the killer the police were seeking. On 30 October 1983 the eviscerated body of a 19-year-old prostitute, named Vera Shevkun, was found in Shakhty. Shevkun had been killed on 27 October. Although the mutilations inflicted upon Shevkun's body were otherwise characteristic of those found upon other victims linked to the unknown murderer, the victim's eyes had not been enucleated or otherwise wounded. Two months later, on 27 December, a 14-year-old Gukovo schoolboy, named Sergey Markov, was lured off a train and murdered at a rural station near Novocherkassk. Markov was emasculated and suffered over 70 knife wounds to his neck and upper torso before being eviscerated.

In January and February 1984, Chikatilo killed two women in Rostov's Aviators' Park. On 24 March, he lured a 10-year-old boy, named Dmitry Ptashnikov, away from a stamp kiosk in Novoshakhtinsk. While walking with the boy, Chikatilo was seen by several witnesses who were able to give investigators a detailed description of the killer. When Ptashnikov's body was found three days later, police also found a footprint of the killer and both semen and saliva samples on the victim's clothing.

On 25 May, Chikatilo killed a young woman named Tatyana Petrosyan and her 10-year-old daughter, Svetlana, in a wooded area outside Shakhty; Petrosyan had known Chikatilo for several years prior to her murder. By the end of July, he had killed three additional young women between the ages of 19 and 21, and a 13-year-old boy. In the summer of 1984, Chikatilo was fired from his work as a supply clerk for theft of property. The accusation had been filed against him the previous February, and he had been asked to resign quietly but had refused to do so, as he had denied the charges. Chikatilo found another job as a supply clerk in Rostov on 1 August.

On 2 August, Chikatilo killed a 16-year-old girl, Natalya Golosovskaya, in Aviators' Park. On 7 August, he lured a 17-year-old girl, Lyudmila Alekseyeva, to the banks of the Don River on the pretense of showing her a shortcut to a bus terminal. Alekseyeva suffered 39 slash wounds to her body before Chikatilo mutilated and disemboweled her: intentionally inflicting wounds he knew would not be immediately fatal. Her body was found in the following morning, her excised upper lip inside her mouth. Hours after Alekseyeva's murder, Chikatilo flew to the Uzbekistan capital of Tashkent on a business trip. By the time he had returned to Rostov on 15 August, he had killed an unidentified young woman and a 10-year-old girl. Within two weeks an 11-year-old boy had been found strangled and castrated, with his eyes gouged out, in Rostov before a young librarian, Irina Luchinskaya, was killed in Aviators' Park on 6 September.

his knife collection-

Andrei Chikatilo victims

family of the victims-

During the time period of these murders, in The Soviet Union, the idea of a serial killer was often suppressed by the media. However, the damage to the eyes in many victims led law enforcement to investigate the killings in connection to one another.

In 1983 detective Major Mikhail Fetisov, located in Moscow, took control of the investigation. He assigned a specialist forensic analyst, Victor Burakov, to head the investigation in the Shakhty area. At that moment, many victims were not yet discovered, making it harder for the police to have any progress. Acknowledging they have a serial killer on the loose made them believe there are more victims to be discovered. Each body discovered helped put together more and more forensic evidence. Police managed to get a blood type of the killer. It was AB blood type, obtained from semen left at the crime scenes.

Later murders-

Upon his release from prison in December 1984, Chikatilo found new work at a locomotive factory in Novocherkassk and kept a low profile. He did not kill again until 1 August 1985 when, on a business trip to Moscow, he encountered an 18-year-old woman, named Natalia Pokhlistova, at a railway platform near Domodedovo Airport. Pokhlistova was lured into a thicket of woods where she was bound, stabbed 38 times, then strangled to death. Based upon the hypothesis that the killer had travelled from the Rostov Oblast to Moscow via air, investigators checked all Aeroflot flight records of passengers who had commuted between Moscow and the Rostov Oblast between late July and early August. On this occasion, however, Chikatilo had travelled to Moscow by train and, accordingly, no documentation existed for investigators to research. Four weeks later, on 27 August, Chikatilo killed another young woman, Irina Gulyaeva, in Shakhty. As had been the case with Natalia Pokhlistova, the wounds inflicted upon the victim linked her murder to the hunt for the serial killer.

In November 1985, a special procurator, named Issa Kostoyev, was appointed to supervise the investigation, which had by this stage expanded to include 15 procurators and 29 detectives assigned to work exclusively upon the manhunt. The known murders linked to the manhunt were carefully re-investigated, and police began another round of questioning of known sex offenders and homosexuals. The following month, the militsiya resumed the patrolling of railway stations around Rostov, and plain clothed female officers were ordered to loiter around bus and train stations. At the request of Viktor Burakov, police also took the step of consulting a psychiatrist, Dr. Alexandr Bukhanovsky, the first such consultation in a serial killer investigation in the Soviet Union. All crime scene and medical examiner's reports were made available to Bukhanovsky, upon the understanding he would produce a psychological profile of the unknown murderer for investigators.

Bukhanovsky's 65-page psychological profile described the killer as a reclusive man aged between 45 and 50 years old who had endured a painful and isolated childhood, and who was incapable of flirting or courtship with women. This individual was of average intelligence, likely to be married and to have fathered children, but also a sadist who suffered from impotence and could achieve sexual arousal only by seeing his victims suffer. The murders themselves were an analogue to the sexual intercourse this individual was incapable of performing, and his knife became a substitute for a penis which failed to function normally. Because many of the killings had occurred on weekdays near mass transport hubs and across the entire Rostov Oblast, Bukhanovsky also argued that the killer's work required him to travel regularly, and based upon the actual days of the week when the killings had occurred, the killer was most likely tied to a production schedule.

Chikatilo followed the investigation carefully, reading newspaper reports about the manhunt for the killer, which had begun to appear in the news media, and keeping his homicidal urges under control. For almost a year following the August 1985 murder of Irina Gulyaeva, no further victims were found in either the Rostov or Moscow Oblasts whose bodies bore the signature mutilations of the unknown murderer. Investigators did tentatively link the murder of a 33-year-old woman named Lyubov Golovakha—found stabbed to death in the Myasnikovsky District of Rostov on 23 July 1986—to the investigation, although this was solely upon the basis that the killer's semen type matched that of the killer they were seeking, that the victim had been stripped naked prior to her murder, and that she had been stabbed in excess of 20 times. The victim had not been dismembered or otherwise mutilated, nor had she been seen near mass transportation. Because of these discrepancies, many investigators expressed serious doubts as to whether Golovakha's murder had been committed by the killer they were seeking.

On 18 August 1986 a victim was found buried in a depression of earth in the grounds of a collective farm in the city of Bataysk. The wounds inflicted upon this victim did seem to bear the trademark mutilations of victims linked to the manhunt killed between 1982 and 1985. The victim was an 18-year-old secretary named Irina Pogoryelova. Pogoryelova's body bore all the trademark mutilations of the previous victims: her body had been slit open from the neck to the genitalia, with one breast removed and her eyes cut out. As the murderer had made serious efforts to bury the body, some investigators theorized that this explained the sudden dearth in the number of victims found.

By the autumn of 1986, investigators in Rostov theorized that the unknown killer may have moved to another part of the Soviet Union and continued killing there. As the three victims killed in the Rostov Oblast in 1985 and 1986 had died in August, some investigators gave credence to the possibility the perpetrator may have relocated to another part of the Soviet Union, and may only be returning to the Rostov Oblast in summer. The Rostov police compiled bulletins to be sent to all forces throughout the Soviet Union, describing the pattern of wounds their unknown killer inflicted upon his victims and requesting feedback from any police force who had discovered murder victims with wounds matching those upon the victims found in the Rostov Oblast. The response was negative. (Uzbekistan investigators did not link the two murders committed by Chikatilo in Tashkent to the series because in one instance, the victim had been beheaded, and in the second instance, the mutilations upon the victim had been so extensive police had concluded the body had been caught in a harvesting machine.)

In 1987 Chikatilo killed three times. On each occasion the murder took place while he was on a business trip far away from the Rostov Oblast, and none of these murders were linked to the manhunt in Rostov. Chikatilo's first murder in 1987 was committed on 16 May, when he encountered a 12-year-old boy, named Oleg Makarenkov, at a train station in the Urals town of Revda. Makarenkov was lured from the station with the promise of sharing a meal with Chikatilo at his dacha; he was murdered in woodland close to the station, although his remains would remain undiscovered until 1991. In July, he killed a 12-year-old boy, named Ivan Bilovetsky, in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia, and on 15 September, he killed a 16-year-old vocational school student, named Yuri Tereshonok, in woodland on the outskirts of Leningrad.

Definitive resurfacing-

In 1988 Chikatilo killed three times, murdering an unidentified woman in Krasny Sulin in April and two boys in May and July. His first murder victim was lured off a train at Krasny Sulin before Chikatilo bound her hands behind her back and stuffed her mouth with dirt, before severing her nose from her face and inflicting numerous knife wounds to her neck. Chikatilo then bludgeoned her to death with a slab of concrete; her body was found on 6 April. Investigators noted that the knife wounds inflicted upon this victim were similar to those inflicted on the victims linked to the manhunt and killed between 1982 and 1985, but as the woman had been killed with a slab of concrete and had not been disemboweled, investigators were unsure whether to link this murder to the investigation. In May, Chikatilo killed a 9-year-old boy, named Aleksey Voronko, in Ilovaisk, Ukraine. The boy's wounds left no doubt the killer had struck again, and this murder was linked to the manhunt. On 14 July, Chikatilo killed 15-year-old Yevgeny Muratov at Donleskhoz station near Shakhty. Muratov's murder was also linked to the investigation, although his body was not found until April 1989. Although his remains were largely skeletal, Muratov's autopsy revealed he had been emasculated, and suffered at least 30 knife wounds.

Chikatilo did not kill again until 1 March 1989, when he killed a 16-year-old girl in his daughter's vacant apartment. He dismembered her body and hid the remains in a sewer. As the victim had been dismembered, police did not link her murder to the investigation. Between May and August, Chikatilo killed a further four victims, three of whom were killed in Rostov and Shakhty, although only two of these victims were linked to the killer. With the resurfacing of victims definitively linked to the manhunt and the fact the majority of these victims' bodies had been discovered close to railway stations, investigators assigned numerous plain clothed officers to discreetly film and photograph passengers on trains throughout the Rostov Oblast. Several trains were also fitted with hidden cameras with the intention of filming or photographing a victim in the company of his or her murderer.

On 14 January 1990 Chikatilo encountered 11-year-old Andrei Kravchenko standing outside a Shakhty theater. Kravchenko was lured from the theater on the pretext of being shown imported Western films Chikatilo claimed to have at his residence; his extensively stabbed, emasculated body was found in a secluded section of woodland the following month. Seven weeks after Kravchenko's murder, on 7 March, Chikatilo lured a 10-year-old boy, named Yaroslav Makarov, from a Rostov train station to Rostov's Botanical Gardens. The eviscerated body was found the following day.

On 11 March, the leaders of the investigation, headed by Mikhail Fetisov, held a meeting to discuss progress made in the manhunt. Fetisov was under intense pressure from the public, the press, and the Ministry of the Interior in Moscow to solve the case. The intensity of the manhunt in the years up to 1984 had receded to a degree between 1985 and 1987, when Chikatilo had committed only three murders investigators had conclusively linked to the killer—all killed by 1986. However, by March 1990, a further six victims had been linked to the killer. In addition, following the introduction of greater media freedom as a result of glasnost, the Soviet news media was much less repressed than it had been in the early years of the manhunt and as such, devoted extensive publicity to the case. Fetisov had also noted laxity in some areas of the investigation and warned that people would be fired if the killer was not caught soon.

Chikatilo had killed three further victims by August 1990: on 4 April, he lured a 31-year-old woman, named Lyubov Zuyeva, off a train and killed her in woodland near Donleskhoz station. Her body was not found until 24 August. On 28 July, he lured a 13-year-old boy, named Viktor Petrov, away from a Rostov railway station and killed him in Rostov's Botanical Gardens; and on 14 August, he killed an 11-year-old boy, named Ivan Fomin, in the reeds near Novocherkassk beach.

The snare

The discovery of more victims sparked a massive police operation. Because several victims had been found at stations on one rail route through the Rostov Oblast, Viktor Burakov suggested a plan to saturate all larger stations in the Rostov Oblast with an obvious uniformed police presence which the killer could not fail to notice. The intention was to discourage the killer from attempting to strike at any of these locations, and to have undercover agents patrol smaller and less busy stations, where the murderer's activities would be more likely to be noticed. The plan was approved, and both the uniformed and undercover officers were instructed to question any adult man in the company of a young woman or child, and note his name and passport number. Police deployed 360 men at all the stations in the Rostov Oblast, but only undercover officers were posted at the three smallest stations on the route through the oblast where the killer had struck most frequently—Kirpichnaya, Donleskhoz, and Lesostep—in an effort to force the killer to strike at one of those three stations. The operation was implemented on 27 October 1990.

On 30 October, police found the body of a 16-year-old boy, named Vadim Gromov, at Donleskhoz station. The wounds upon Gromov's body immediately linked his murder to the manhunt: the youth had been strangled, stabbed 27 times and castrated, with the tip of his tongue severed and his left eye stabbed. Gromov had been killed on 17 October, 10 days before the start of the initiative. The same day Gromov's body was found, Chikatilo lured another 16-year-old boy, Viktor Tishchenko, off a train at Kirpichnaya station, another station under surveillance from undercover police, and killed him in a nearby forest. Tishchenko's body—bearing 40 separate knife wounds—was found on 3 November.

Final murder and surveillance-

On 6 November 1990, Chikatilo killed and mutilated a 22-year-old woman, named Svetlana Korostik, in woodland near Donleskhoz station. While leaving the crime scene, he was observed by an undercover officer. The policeman observed Chikatilo approach a well and wash his hands and face. When he approached the station, the undercover officer noted that Chikatilo's coat had grass and soil stains on the elbows. Chikatilo also had a small red smear on his cheek. To the officer, he looked suspicious. The only reason people entered woodland near the station at that time of year was to gather wild mushrooms (a popular pastime in Russia), but Chikatilo was not dressed like a typical forest scavenger; he was wearing more formal attire. Moreover, he had a nylon sports bag, which was unsuitable for carrying mushrooms. The policeman stopped Chikatilo and checked his papers, but had no formal reason to arrest him. When the policeman returned to his office, he filed a routine report, containing the name of the person he had stopped at the station.

On 13 November, Korostik's body was found; she was the 36th known victim linked to the manhunt. Police summoned the officer in charge of surveillance at Donleskhoz station, and examined the reports of all men stopped and questioned in the previous week. Not only was Chikatilo's name among those reports, but it was familiar to several officers involved in the case, because he had been questioned in 1984, and had been placed upon a 1987 suspect list compiled and distributed throughout the Soviet Union. After checking with Chikatilo's present and previous employers, investigators were able to place him in various towns and cities at times when several victims linked to the investigation had been killed. Questioning of former colleagues from Chikatilo's teaching days revealed that Chikatilo had been forced to resign from two teaching positions due to repeated complaints of lewd behaviour and sexual assault made by his pupils.

Police placed Chikatilo under surveillance on 14 November. In several instances, particularly on trains or buses, he was observed approaching lone young women or children, and engaging them in conversation. If the woman or child broke off the conversation, Chikatilo would wait a few minutes and then seek another conversation partner. On 20 November, after six days of surveillance, Chikatilo left his house with a large jar, which he had filled with beer at a small kiosk in a local park, before he wandered around Novocherkassk, attempting to make contact with children he met on his way. Upon exiting a cafe, Chikatilo was arrested by four plainclothes police officers.

Chikatilo went to court on April 14, 1992. “The Maniac” as the media called him, was held in an iron cage for the purpose of keeping him apart from the relatives of his many victims.

His behavior in court baffled many. From singing to talking nonsense. At one point during his trial he dropped his trousers, showing off and waving his genitals at the crowd gathered in the court. On October 15, 1992, 2 months after the trial, he was found guilty of 52 murders and sentenced to death.

His defense tried to overrule his psychiatric evaluation, looking for an appeal, but failed.

On 14 February 1994 Chikatilo was taken from his death row cell to a soundproofed room in Novocherkassk prison and executed with a single gunshot behind the right ear.
