A worker in Isfahan, Iran, died when he was repairing an escalator. He removed one step so he could get access inside. But all of a sudden, and for unknown reasons, things escalated out of control and the steps started moving and he got crushed. He died from his injuries at the scene.

The victim was identified as 26 year old Ingrid Escamilla Vargas. Ingrid is believed to have been in a sugar-daddy type relationship with 46 years old Erik Robledo Rosas, her murderer. According to the information given at this time, Robledo stabbed the woman 5 times after an argument, presumably with a kitchen knife. After that, he skinned her from face to knees, extracting her eyeballs. At some point, he attempted to flush her remains piece by piece down the toilet, but that was too tedious and not working out very well, so he ended up putting her guts in plastic bags, and distributing them to different locations all within 7 blocks from the crime scene. Eric Robledo then called his ex-wife after the murder to confess. She in turn reported it to the police.

Robledo's alibi is that he acted in self defense, claiming that she tried to kill him with the same knife he used on her. His torso was indeed covered with wounds appearing to come from the same type of knife, but those could have been self inflicted. Footage shows Robledo in a car with his head bandaged and blood on his chest while he reportedly talks to a policeman. In the clip he said: "We started to argue and we fought. She said she wanted to kill me and I said do it." He added: "She took a knife and I said do it at once. She stabbed me once and I said do it stronger. And she tried two more times."

The Waukegan Police Department and Waukegan Fire Department responded around 1:50 a.m. Monday to the area of Bowen Park, 1800 North Sheridan Road in Waukegan, for a report of a possible stabbing victim.

Officers arrived to find the victim, a 32-year-old Chicago man, critically injured and suffering a major arm wound, according to Lake County Sheriff's Office Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office was notified and responded after it was determined the incident happened at a bar in the 37800 block of North Sheridan Road in Beach Park.

A preliminary investigation shows the man, identified as Jonathan Banks, was at the bar when he got into a verbal altercation with another person, Covelli said.

Banks was escorted out by security.

Covelli said the man used his fist to punch through a window near the front door of the business.

Banks suffered a severe laceration to his arm and bled significantly.

Banks asked a friend who was at the bar to drive him to the hospital, Covelli said.

While on the way to the hospital, the man went in and out of consciousness.

After regaining consciousness at one point, Banks grabbed the wheel of the car, causing the driver to strike a curb and a trash can, which disabled the car's ability to drive, Covelli said.

The man was transported by paramedics to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy performed Monday showed Banks died as a result of sharp force injuries, according to Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek.

Lake County sheriff's detectives continue to investigate the incident but the man's injury appears to be self-inflicted, Covelli added.

Two men were walking by Koshachiy Prud (Cat Pond) in Novogireyevo District. They had decided to save some time by walking across the pond on ice.

While they were in the middle of the pond, the ice broke beneath them and they fell into the cold water.

People nearby tried to help, but in the end only one man was saved. He was taken to a hospital. The second man drowned.

According to some sources, they were drunk or at least one of them was. This wasn't officially confirmed yet.

In a hotel room in Ban Sam Phrao, Udon Thani, Thailand, the dead body of a 52-year-old French tourist was found, naked, with wounds on his wrists and neck. He had not been seen outside his room since the previous day, and a "strange fishy smell" had been detected from his apartment. An examination near the body found broken glass "that looked like a shark's mouth". The case was deemed to be a suicide.

Another feature of this case is that the cut wound in the front of the neck is situated high up in the neck, contrary to classic feature of homicidal cut throat wounds of being situated in the lower neck. This position led to the assumption that the assailant came from behind the victim, pulled his hair and consequently his head backward and cut his throat by a single slash.

The murder of Elizabeth Short, a.k.a. "The Black Dahlia", is one of the most famous unsolved crimes. The body of 22-year-old Short was found mutilated and dismembered on January 15, 1947 in Los Angeles. Despite an investigation with 150 suspects, no one was ever arrested and the murder of Elizabeth Short remains a cold case.

The body had been drained from blood and cleaned, leaving her skin white. The bode was completely severed at the waist. Short's face had been slashed from the corners of her mouth to her ears, and entire portions of flesh had been sliced away. There were numerous cuts in a criss cross pattern over her pubic area, and her pubic hair had been removed by hand.

The autopsy showed the cause of death to be hemorrhaging from the lacerations to her face and the shock from blows to the head and face. Most of the damage done seemed to have been postmortem, including the severing of the body at the waist.

A 37-year-old woman was attacked by a 700-lb. Siberian tiger while cleaning the animal's cage at a private zoo. She was first bitten on the neck and held to the ground for approximately 30 seconds by the animal. There was no loss of consciousness. She then was attacked on both tower extremities. She arrived at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, via helicopter transport.

Examination revealed multiple injuries to her left cheek. The largest wound was a nonbleeding 6-cm supraclavicular laceration. She also had multiple large puncture wounds over the anterior neck, posterior shoulder, and midline posterior neck (Fig. I). Neurologic examination of the left upper extremity revealed mild weakness of the left biceps and triceps muscle.

Two days after admission, the patient underwent stabilization of the C-spine with an instrumented C2 to C4 fusion. At tbe time of this procedure. tbe patient was noted to bave a small posterior epidural hematoma and a collection of cerebrospinal fluid. This was evacuated and no active cerebrospinal fluid leak was found.

She was discharged after 22 days of hospitalization. At last follow-up 10 months post injury. she had a persistent left foot drop, although her mild left biceps and triceps weakness had resolved.

39-year-old Clodoaldo dos Santos was killed whilst performing repairs on a milling machine at a sugar refinery. At the time of the incident, Clodoaldo was welding one of the chutes used to carry sugarcane bagasse. The motors had been turned off, but for some reason, the machine started running, and Clodoaldo was fatally crushed by the auger.

It was noted that the machine was computerized, suggesting some sort of mechanical failure. It was also noted that the welding equipment used by Clodoaldo may have emitted an electric charge strong enough to activate the milling machine's motor.

Since only the mill's motor was activated, Clodoaldo's body did not pass through the crusher - hence why the body was not dismembered - but his body was subject to severe cuts from the machine's blades, enough to nearly cause disintegration of the head.

i have hung myself many times in the past (i dont now dw) but there was 1 time where i was very lucky to be alive. this happened about a year and a half ago. i hung where my tippy toes were just barely touching the ground, using a bedsheet to hang and ill describe how it felt:

for the first few seconds it feels like ur head is gonna explode from all the blood being trapped up there, but then strangely it kinda felt super calm. i felt this rly weird sense of peace, all the noise in my brain stopping and i just was able to hear the ambience of the room i was in. my head felt normal too, my neck didnt rly hurt that much, more just felt tight. then i passed out after that brief moment of peace which was almost like a dream but super fast. a bunch of flashing images and memory type things. i was able to hear myself choking kinda but i was super confused and didnt rly know what was happening. i felt a sense of urgency, like i knew i was needing something but i didnt know what it was so it felt like i was frantically trying to get something that i didnt even know (i think this was my brain frantically trying to get oxygen?). then by some freaking miracle my toes somehow managed to get onto the bottom part of my desk chair which like ig loosened the tightness enough for me to regain consciousness and then i immediately got myself back on the chair and pulled the sheet off. my tongue hurt so much because i realized that while i was passed out i had been biting down on it super hard (there were like indent marks on my tongue for like a week). my neck was very sore and felt like it had severe friction burns. the marks on my neck stayed for like 6 months after that, and there were black and blues on it for the next few weeks

this was my own experience to what i would consider as close to death as ive ever been, hope this was interesting to read!

"Today, the family is more hopeful that justice will be served." These were the words of Fátima Taddeo after security camera footage from the Oxxo store was made public on Monday (2). The videos confirm that Gabriel Renan da Silva Soares, her nephew and the nephew of rapper Eduardo Taddeo, was executed from behind by a military police officer (PM) on November 3. The footage also proves that PM Vinícius de Lima Britto lied in his testimony.

The eight shots were fired without any dialogue or approach from the officer, and there was no threat from the Black man who was shot while attempting to steal three cleaning products. The footage circulated just hours before another video surfaced, showing a PM throwing a restrained man off a bridge in São Paulo.

The shocking scenes prompted Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos) and the former ROTA officer and current Secretary of Public Security, Guilherme Derrite, to speak publicly. On their social media, they condemned the officers' actions as exceptional cases that do not reflect the "professionalism" and "years of legacy" of the police force. According to the São Paulo Public Prosecutor's Office, police lethality in the state increased by 71% in the first half of 2024.

"Police officers are on the streets to confront crime and ensure that people feel safe. Anyone who shoots from behind or goes to the extreme of throwing someone off a bridge is evidently unworthy of wearing this uniform," posted Tarcísio. Derrite added, "For the good officers who should not bear the burden of a few irresponsible ones, there will be severe punishment."

For Fátima Taddeo, who is also a lawyer, the Oxxo videos clearly show that, in a matter of seconds, "this officer judged, condemned, and executed. Over a theft. He placed a price on Gabriel's life. The footage shows three hygiene product packages. The cost price is likely less than R$15. That was the value he assigned to Gabriel's life," she lamented.

Another portion of the police report states that the officer ordered Gabriel to stop. Instead, the young man allegedly "put his hand inside his sweatshirt pocket, pretending to be armed, and at that moment, to counter the perceived aggression, the officer fired a shot." According to this version, Gabriel, already wounded, moved "toward the sidewalk" but then returned, still with his hand in his pocket, and said, "Don't mess with me, I'm armed. I don't want anything that belongs to you." The officer then fired additional shots.

"If the family hadn't pursued this, the officer's testimony and the police intervention report, claiming the death was a result of an attempted robbery, would have prevailed. And that would have been the end of it," Fátima Taddeo pointed out.

Response from Authorities

Brasil de Fato asked the São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP) what actions would be taken following the revelation that the account recorded in the police report is false. "If the investigations point to the criminal liability of the military police officer, administrative measures will be taken," the department stated. These measures could include "a disciplinary process." The outcome of this possible process "may" lead to "his dismissal from the institution."

Guadalajara, Mexico: On Monday night, a man and his daughter were hit by a Macro Calzada truck that they crossed imprudently in the Morelos neighborhood of Guadalajara.

The accident occurred on Gobernador Curiel Avenue at the intersection with Pelícano Street.

The Macro was moving regularly in its restricted lane, while traffic moved slowly in the normal lanes.

The now deceased was with his daughter, who was about 12 years old. He had just picked her up from a nearby school. However, they crossed the road outside the pedestrian zone and into traffic, right in front of a garbage truck. When they reached the exclusive lane, they did not see the vehicle and were hit.

The public transport driver was unable to do anything to avoid the impact, although he managed to stop the truck so as not to run over the people.

The man hit his head hard against the windshield and then against the asphalt, dying almost instantly. The girl was also hit, but her backpack helped cushion the blow.

Police from Guadalajara arrived shortly after and helped the minor, while requesting the presence of municipal medical services and traffic police.

The MacroCalzada driver was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
