CHILD WARNING EFFORTPOST Massive Columbine Write Up

Columbine High School resides in Littelton, Colorado. The school was founded in 1973. It was named after the surrounding community of Columbine, which in turn was named after the state flower of Colorado: the columbine. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1711648663855703.webp Columbine was the site of one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S History (12 killed) until it was surpassed by the Virginia Tech shooting on April 16, 2007 where 33 would be killed.

══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

The Columbine Shooting happened on April 20. 1999 lasting from 11:19am-12:08pm. Including the perpetrators, 15 people would lose their lives and 24 would be injured. The motive for this attack is described to be "Inconclusive."

Eric Harris: https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1711650142669697.webp

Eric Harris was born on April 9, 1981 in Wichita, Kansas. He was part of a military family so he was moved around alot. They moved from New York to Littleton, Colorado in July 1993 once his father had retired from the U.S Air Force.

In an English paper in 1997 he wrote how difficult it was to move from New York to Colorado. "It was the hardest moving from Plattsburgh. I have the most memories from there", Harris continued. "When I left (his friends) I felt alone, lost and even agitated that I had spent so much time with them and now I have to go because of something I can't stop." Harris blamed his dad for moving around having him to "start at the bottom of the ladder." Harris entered Columbine in 1995 as a Freshman. It was said he had many friends. Some described Harris as Charismatic and other said nice and likeable. In his Freshman year he met Tiffany Typher in German class. She recounted how Harris quickly wooed her and they ended up going to Homecoming together .

After the event she wanted nothing to do with him for reasons unknown. She refused to socialize with him which is then when he faked his suicide. He was sprawled out on the ground with fake blood. When she saw she screamed and called for help at which point Harris and friends started laughing.

By his Junior year he was known to be quick to anger and threatened people with bombs. Harris often bragged about his ability to deceive people and has also written violent fantasies about killing people he doesn't like.

══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

Dylan Klebold: https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116509883805223.webp

Dylan Klebold was born Sept 11, 1981 in Lakewood, Colorado. On the day after the shooting, Klebold's mother remembered that shortly after Klebold's birth, she described what felt like a shadow cast over her, warning her that this child would bring her great sorrow.

Klebold attended Normandy Elementary School for first and second grade and then transferred to Governor's Ranch Elementary School where he was part of the Challenging High Intellectual Potential Students program for gifted children. According to report's. Klebold was an exceptionally bright child, although he appeared somewhat sheltered in Elementary School.

When he transitioned to Ken Caryl Middle School, he found it difficult. Fellow classmates recalled Klebold being painfully shy and quiet, often to an uncomfortable degree. He was fidgety whenever someone new talked to him rarely opening up to people. His parent's were unconcerned with this behavior as they assumed it was just regular behavior among young adolescents.

During his earlier school years he played Baseball, Soccer and T-ball. He was also in Cub Scouts where he would met Brooks Brown. Klebold and Brown rode the same bus as Harris which is how Klebold and Harris quickly became best friends. They also both worked together as cooks at Blackjack Pizza.

In the last year of his life he changed. People noted him being short-tempered and prone to sudden outbursts of rage.

══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

FRIENDSHIP:

Much information is unknown other then their interactions in the Basement Tapes.

Thye first met in 7th grade and over time they became increasingly close. Hanging out going bowling, carpooling and playing the video game Doom.

By Junior year they were described as inseparable. It was also said that they always sat alone together during lunch and kept to themselves.

══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

CRIMINAL ACTIVITY:

On the night of January 30, 1998, Harris and Klebold broke into a locked van to steal computers and other electronic equipment. A short while after a Jefferson County sheriff's officer drove upon the two boys parked further down road at another park entrance and since the park area was closed by that time of night, the arresting deputy decided to further inspect them.

They were later charged with mischief, breaking and entering, trespassing, and theft.

They both left good impressions on juvenile officers, who offered to expunge their criminal records if they agreed to attend a diversionary program which included community service and psychiatric treatment. Harris was required to attend anger management classes where, again, he made a favorable impression.

The boys' probation officer discharged them from the program a few months ahead of schedule for good behavior. Regarding Harris, it was remarked that he was "a very bright individual who is likely to succeed in life", while Klebold was said to be intelligent, but "needs to understand that hard work is part of fulfilling a dream."

Several months later on April 30, Harris handed over the first version of a letter of apology he wrote to the owner of the van, which he completed the next month.

In the letter, Harris expressed regret about his actions; however, in one of his journal entries dated April 12, he wrote: "Isn't america supposed to be the land of the free? how come, If im free, I cant deprive some fucking dumbshit from his possessions If he leaves them sitting in the front seat of his fucking van in plain sight in the middle of fucking nowhere on a fri-fucking-day night? Natural selection. Fucker should be shot.

══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

BULLYING:

Early stories following the massacre charged that school administrators and teachers at Columbine had long condoned bullying by jocks and this explained the motive. According to early accounts of the shooting, they were very unpopular students and targets of bullying. A rumor eventually started that Harris and Klebold were gay and romantically involved, due to the time the pair spent together. It is unknown if they were aware of this rumor. Harris and Klebold were regularly called "Cute twinks" Dylan when talking to his father about the jocks had stated, "They sure give Eric hell." but he also said that the jocks tended to leave him [Dylan] alone.

Eric had a chest deformity known as Pectus Excavatum. This made him reluctant to take his shirt off during Gym Class and other students would make fun of him for it. Nathan Vanderau, a friend of Klebold, and Alisa Owen, who knew Harris, noted they were picked on. Vanderau recalled that a "cup of fecal matter" was thrown at them.

One day it was alleged that they were both confronted by student's who sprayed them with Ketchup while referring to them as "Cute twinks" and "Queers." Klebold told his mother that it was the worst day of his life. According to Brown, "That happened while teachers watched. They couldn't fight back. They wore the ketchup all day and went home covered with it."

WAS THE MOTIVE REALLY BULLYING??

Dave Cullen, an American journalist and non-fiction writer and Author of Columbine published in 2009, as well as psychologists dispute the theory of "revenge for bullying" as a motivation. Cullen claimed they were NOT victims of bullying. He noted Harris was more often the perpetrator than victim of bullying.

An entry is Eric's journal he stated that even if he were complimented and respected more by his peers, the attack would've still, in all likelihood, occurred. In another entry he even said to not blame the administration of the school for the attack for they were doing a great job running the school. many other researchers have also argued against the bullying hypothesis

WHAT ABOUT ISOLATION??

Rejection was also highlighted as a cause. Social cliques within high schools such as the Trench Coat Mafia https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116550202984.webp

were widely discussed. One perception formed was that Harris and Klebold were both outcasts who had been isolated from their classmates, prompting feelings of helplessness, insecurity, and depression, as well as a strong need for power and attention.

This concept too has been questioned, as both Harris and Klebold had a close circle of friends and a wider informal social group. Other close friends of the pair such as Chad Laughlin and Nathan Dykeman state the duo were not outcasts.

FBI'S THEORY:

FBI has concluded that they both had mental illness. Eric was a clinical psychopath and Dylan had depression.

Dwayne Fuselier, the supervisor in charge of the Columbine investigation, would later remark: "I believe Eric went to the school to kill and didn't care if he died, while Dylan wanted to die and didn't care if others died as well."

In April 1998, a year prior to the attack, as part of his diversion program, Harris wrote a letter of apology to the owner of the van he and Klebold broke into earlier that year. Around the same time, he derided the owner of the van in his journal, stating that he believed he had the right to steal something if he wanted to.

The theme in Klebold's journals is his wish for suicide and private despair at his lack of success with women, which he refers to as an "infinite sadness". Klebold had repeatedly documented his desires to kill himself, and his final remark in the Basement Tapes, shortly before the attack, is a resigned statement made as he glances away from the camera: "Just know I'm going to a better place. I didn't like life too much."

This theory has been met with criticism. Critics cite the fact that Klebold, not Harris, was the first to mention a killing spree in his journal. They also cite evidence that Harris was depressed as well, such as his prescription for antidepressants. Opponents of contemporary psychiatry like Peter Breggin claim that the psychiatric medications prescribed to Harris may have exacerbated his aggressiveness. Harris had complained of depression, anger, and suicidal thoughts, for which he was prescribed antidepressants. Toxicology reports confirmed that Harris had Luvox in his bloodstream at the time of the shootings, whereas Klebold had no medications in his system. Harris continued his scheduled meetings with his psychologist until a few months before the massacre.

Harris had a Hi-Point 995 Carbine with thirteen 10-round magazines and a Savage-Springfield 67H pump-action shotgun.

Klebold used a 9mm Intratec TEC-9 semi-automatic handgun with one 52-, one 32-, and one 28-round magazine and a Stevens 311D double-barreled shotgun.

Harris's shotgun was sawed-off to around 26 inches (0.66 m) and Klebold shortened his shotgun's length to 23 inches (0.58 m), a felony under the National Firearms Act.

Through Philip Duran, one of their coworkers, Klebold bought a TEC-9 handgun from Mark Manes for $500 at another gun show on January 23.

After the massacre, Manes and Duran were both prosecuted. Each was charged with supplying a handgun to a minor and possession of a sawed-off shotgun. Manes and Duran were sentenced to a total of six years and four-and-a-half years, respectively, in prison.

Including firearms there were also explosives. Harris and Klebold constructed a total of 99 bombs.

These included pipe bombs, carbon-dioxide cartridges filled with gunpowder (called "crickets"), Molotov cocktails, and propane tanks converted to bombs. The propane bombs were used in the cafeteria, the shooters' cars, and in another location intended as a diversion.

Harris also experimented with napalm, and envisioned a kind of backpack and flamethrower. They both attempted to get another friend and coworker, Chris Morris, who was a part of the Trench Coat Mafia, to keep the napalm at his house, but he refused. Harris also tried to recruit him to be a third shooter but played it off as a joke when rebuked.

Harris and Klebold were both equipped with knives, but investigators do not believe they ever utilized them during the massacre. Harris had a boot knife on his belt and a "Khyber-pass" machete bowie knife taped to the back of his ankle. Both had an "R", referencing Harris's alias "REB", etched into the handle, and the machete had a swastika on the sheath. Klebold had a "Cobra" knife mounted to his belt on the left side as well as a switchblade in his right pocket.

On Tuesday morning, April 20, 1999, Harris and Klebold placed two duffel bags in the cafeteria. Each bag contained propane bombs, set to detonate during the "A" lunch shift, which began at 11:15 a.m.

No one recalls seeing them do this and was thought to be believed that there was a tape change around this time.

But in the video below ↓ from Reddit you can see where they were starting to place the bombs.

Two backpacks filled with pipe bombs, aerosol canisters, and small propane bombs were also placed in a field about 3 miles (4.8 km) south of CHS, and 2 mi (3.2 km) south of the fire station. The bombs were intended as a diversion to draw firefighters and emergency personnel away from the school. Only the pipe bombs and one of the aerosol canisters detonated, causing a small fire, which was quickly extinguished by the fire department.

11:19am

At 11:19 a.m., 17-year-old Rachel Scott https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1711657443799864.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1711663405683608.webp

and her friend Richard Castaldo were having lunch and sitting on the grass next to the west entrance of the school. Klebold threw a pipe bomb towards the parking lot; the bomb only partially detonated, causing it to give off smoke. Castaldo thought it was no more than a crude senior prank. Likewise, several students during the incident first thought that they were watching a prank.

A witness reported hearing "Go! Go!" before Klebold and Harris pulled their guns from beneath their trench coats and began shooting.

The two allegedly returned to where Rachel Scott and Richard Castaldo lay on the ground injured. Scott was killed instantly when she was hit four times with rounds fired from Harris's carbine; one shot was to the left temple.

Castaldo was shot eight times in the chest, arm, and abdomen by both Harris and Klebold; he fell unconscious to the ground and was left paralyzed below the chest.

Klebold's TEC-9 jammed forcing him to temporarily stop. Meanwhile, Harris took off his trenchcoat and aimed his carbine down the west staircase in the direction of three students: Daniel Rohrbough, Sean Graves, and Lance Kirklin. Thinking it was just a paintball gun they weren't quick to run away.

Harris fired ten times, killing Rohrbough https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116574438580165.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116606744766777.webp and injuring Graves and Kirklin.

During this time was when Dave Sanders heard the gun fire from the cafeteria and began warning student's who then started fleeing to safety.

Harris turned west and fired seven shots in the direction of five students sitting on the grassy hillside adjacent to the steps and opposite the west entrance of the school. Michael Johnson was hit in the face, leg, and arm but ran and escaped; Mark Taylor was shot in the chest, arms, and leg and fell to the ground, where he faked death; the other three escaped uninjured.

Klebold walked down the steps toward the cafeteria. He first shot once at the body of Dan Rohrbough with his shotgun, and then came up to Lance Kirklin, who was already wounded and lying on the ground, weakly calling for help. Klebold said, "Sure. I'll help you," then shot Kirklin in the jaw with his shotgun. Although near-fatally injured, Kirklin would survive. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116582133207483.webp

Graves—paralyzed beneath the waist—had crawled into the doorway of the cafeteria's west entrance and collapsed. He rubbed his blood on his face and played dead. After shooting Kirklin, Klebold walked towards the cafeteria door. He then stepped over the injured Graves to enter the cafeteria. Graves remembers Klebold saying, "Sorry, dude."

Klebold only briefly entered the cafeteria and did not shoot at the several people still inside. Officials speculated that Klebold went to check on the propane bombs. Harris was still on top of the stairs shooting, and severely wounded and partially paralyzed 17-year-old Anne-Marie Hochhalter as she tried to flee.

Klebold came out of the cafeteria and went back up the stairs to join Harris. They each shot once at students standing close to a soccer field but did not hit anyone. They walked toward the west entrance, throwing pipe bombs in several directions, including onto the roof; only a few of these pipe bombs detonated. Witnesses heard one of them say, "This is what we always wanted to do. This is awesome!"

Meanwhile, art teacher Patti Nielson was inside the school; she had noticed the commotion and walked toward the west entrance with student Brian Anderson. Nielson had intended to walk outside to tell the two students, "Knock it off", thinking they were either filming a video or pulling a student prank.

As Anderson opened the first set of double doors, the gunmen shot out the windows, injuring him with flying glass; Nielson was hit in the shoulder with shrapnel.

Anderson and Nielson ran back down the hall into the library, and Nielson alerted the students inside to the danger, telling them to get under desks and keep silent. She dialed 9-1-1 and hid under the library's administrative counter. Anderson fell to the floor, bleeding from his injuries, then hid inside the magazine room adjacent to the library.

11:22 a.m.: Police response and West Entrance shootouts.

A custodian called Deputy Neil Gardner, the assigned resource officer to Columbine, on the school radio, requesting assistance in the senior parking lot.

The only paved route took him around the school to the east and south on Pierce Street, where at 11:23 a.m., he heard on his police radio that a female was down, and assumed she had been struck by a car. While exiting his patrol car in the senior lot at 11:24, he heard another call on the school radio, "Neil, there's a shooter in the school.

Harris, at the west entrance, immediately turned and fired ten shots from his carbine at Gardner, who was 60 yards (55 m) away. As Harris reloaded his carbine, Gardner leaned over the top of his car and fired four rounds at Harris from his service pistol.

Harris ducked back behind the building, and Gardner momentarily believed that he had hit him. Harris then reemerged and fired at least four more rounds at Gardner (which missed and struck two parked cars), before retreating into the building. No one was hit during the exchange of gunfire.

By this point, Harris had shot 47 times, and Klebold 5.

The pair then shot out the windows to the east entrance of the school. After proceeding through the hall several times and shooting toward—and missing—any students they saw, they went toward the west entrance and turned into the library hallway.

Inside the school cafeteria, Dave Sanders and two custodians initially told students to get under the tables, then successfully evacuated students up the staircase leading to the second floor of the school. The stairs were located around the corner from the library hallway in the main south hallway. Sanders then tried to secure as much of the school as he could.

Sanders and another student were at the end of the hallway, where he gestured for students in the library to stay, before encountering Harris and Klebold, who were approaching from the corner of the north hallway. Sanders and the student turned and ran in the opposite direction. Harris and Klebold shot at them both, with Harris hitting Sanders twice in the back and neck. The latter ran into a science classroom and warned everyone to hide. Klebold walked over towards Sanders, who had collapsed, and tossed a pipe bomb, then returned to Harris up the library hallway.

Sanders struggled toward the science area, and teacher Rich Long took him into a classroom where 30 students were located. Due to his knowledge of first aid, student Aaron Hancey was brought to the classroom from another by teacher Kent Friesen despite the unfolding commotion. With the assistance of fellow student and teacher, Hancey administered first aid to Sanders for three hours, attempting to stem the blood loss using shirts from students in the room, and showing him pictures from his wallet to keep him talking

As the shooting unfolded, pipe bombs were tossed in the hallways and down into the cafeteria. Patti Nielson in the library called 9-1-1, telling her story and urging students in the library to take cover beneath desks. According to transcripts, her call was received by a 9–1–1 operator at 11:25:18 a.m.

11:29–11:36 a.m.: Library massacre

At 11:29am Eric and Dylan would enter the Library where most of the killing's would be taking place.

Harris yelled at everyone to "GET UP!" loud enough to be heard on the 911 call. When no one complied, Harris yelled, "Fine! I'll start shooting anyway!"

The gunmen walked into the library, towards the two rows of computers. Sitting at the north row was disabled student Kyle Velasquez. Klebold fired his shotgun, fatally hitting him in the head and back. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116593047110183.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116606729816902.webp

Throughout the massacre in the library, they ordered everybody to get up, said how long they had been waiting for this, and seemed to be enjoying themselves, shouting things like "Woo!" after shooting. While ordering the jocks to stand up, one of the two said, "Anybody with a white hat or a sports emblem on it is dead." Wearing a white baseball cap at Columbine was a tradition among sports team members. Nobody stood up, and several students tried to hide their white hats.

Klebold removed his trench coat. He then fired his shotgun at a nearby table, injuring three students: Patrick Ireland, Daniel Steepleton, and Makai Hall.

Harris walked toward the lower row of computer desks with his shotgun and fired a single shot under the first desk while down on one knee. He hit 14-year-old Steven Curnow with a mortal wound to the neck. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116597305902398.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116606735042973.webp

He then moved to the adjacent computer desk, injuring 17-year-old Kacey Ruegsegger with a shot which passed completely through her right shoulder, also grazing her neck and severing a major artery. When she started gasping in pain, Harris said, "Quit your bitching."

Harris then walked to a table south of the lower computer table, with two students underneath: Cassie Bernall and Emily Wyant. Harris slapped the surface of the table twice as he knelt, and said "Peek-a-boo" before shooting Bernall once in the head with the shotgun, killing her. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116597311053915.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116609473168187.webp

After fatally shooting Bernall, Harris turned toward the next table, where Bree Pasquale sat next to the table rather than under it. Harris's nose was bleeding; witnesses later reported that he had blood around his mouth. Harris asked Pasquale if she wanted to die, and she responded with a plea for her life. Harris laughed and responded "Everyone's gonna die." When Klebold said "shoot her," Harris responded "No, we're gonna blow up the school anyway."

Klebold noticed Ireland trying to provide aid to Hall, who had suffered a wound to his knee. As Ireland tried to help Hall, his head rose above the table. Klebold shot him a second time, hitting him twice in the head and once in the foot. Ireland was knocked unconscious but survived.

Klebold then walked toward another table, where he discovered 18-year-old Isaiah Shoels, 16-year-old Matthew Kechter, and 16-year-old Craig Scott (Rachel's younger brother), hiding underneath. Klebold called out to Harris that he found a "BIPOC" and tried to pull Shoels out from under the table.

Harris left Pasquale and joined him. According to witnesses, they taunted Shoels for a few seconds, making derogatory racial comments. The gunmen both fired under the table; Harris shot Shoels once in the chest, killing him, https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116597313942406.webp and Klebold shot and killed Kechter. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1711659732159147.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116606740112448.webp Though Shoels was not shot in the head, Klebold said: "I didn't know black brains could fly that far."

Meanwhile, Scott was uninjured, lying in the blood of his friends, feigning death.

Klebold walked to the east area of the library. Harris walked from the bookcase, past the central area to meet Klebold. The latter shot at a display case next to the door, then turned and shot toward the closest table, hitting and injuring 17-year-old Mark Kintgen in the head and shoulder.

He then turned toward the table to his left and fired, injuring 18-year-olds Lisa Kreutz, Lauren Townsend, and Valeen Schnurr with the same shotgun blast. Klebold then moved toward the same table and fired several shots with the TEC-9, killing Townsend. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116599646563914.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116608570610468.webp

At this point, the seriously injured Valeen Schnurr began screaming, "Oh, my God! Oh, my God!" In response, Klebold asked Schnurr if she believed in the existence of God; when Schnurr replied she did, Klebold asked "Why?" and commented "God is gay." Klebold reloaded but walked away from the table

Harris approached another table where two girls were hiding. He bent down to look at them and dismissed them as "pathetic". Harris then moved to another table where he fired twice, injuring 16-year-olds Nicole Nowlen and John Tomlin. Tomlin moved out from under the table. Klebold shot him repeatedly, killing him. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116599658416255.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116606747090886.webp

Harris then walked back over to the other side of the table where Townsend lay dead. Behind the table, a 16-year-old girl named Kelly Fleming had, like Bree Pasquale, sat next to the table rather than beneath it due to a lack of space. Harris shot Fleming with his shotgun, hitting her in the back and killing her. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116602467921758.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116608581001337.webp

He shot at the table behind Fleming, hitting Townsend, who was already dead; Kreutz again; and wounding 18-year-old Jeanna Park.

Harris then pointed his carbine under a table, but the student he was aiming at moved out of the way. Harris turned his gun back on the student and told him to identify himself.

It was John Savage, an acquaintance of Klebold's. He asked Klebold what they were doing, to which he shrugged and answered, "Oh, just killing people." Savage asked if they were going to kill him. However, because of the background noise, Klebold said, "What?" Savage asked again whether they were going to kill him. Klebold said no, and told him to run. Savage fled, escaping through the library's main entrance and through the cafeteria.

After Savage left, Harris turned and fired his carbine at the table directly north of where he had been, hitting the ear and hand of 15-year-old Daniel Mauser. Mauser retaliated by either shoving a chair at Harris or grabbing at his leg; Harris fired again and hit Mauser in the center of the face at close range, killing him. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1711660246923132.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116608529960175.webp

Harris then moved south and fired three shots under another table, critically injuring two 17-year-olds, Jennifer Doyle and Austin Eubanks. Klebold then shot once, fatally wounding 17-year-old Corey DePooter, https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1711660247082515.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116606724559247.webp at 11:35.

There were no further victims. They had killed 10 people in the library and wounded 12.

12:08pm: Suicides

After leaving the library, Harris and Klebold entered the science area, where they caused a fire in an empty storage closet. It was extinguished by a teacher who had hidden in an adjacent room.

The gunmen then proceeded toward the south hallway, where they shot into an empty science room. At 11:44 a.m., they were captured on the school security cameras as they re-entered the cafeteria. The recording shows Harris crouching against the rail on the staircase and firing toward the propane bombs left in the cafeteria, in an unsuccessful attempt to detonate them.

They left the cafeteria at 11:46.

They re-entered the library, which was empty of survivors except for the unconscious Ireland and the injured Kreutz. Once inside, at 12:02 p.m., police were shot at again through the library windows and returned fire. Nobody was injured in the exchange. By 12:05, all gunfire from the school had ceased. By 12:08 p.m., both gunmen had killed themselves. Harris sat down with his back to a bookshelf and fired his shotgun through the roof of his mouth; Klebold went down on his knees and shot himself in the left temple with his TEC-9.

AFTER THE SUICIDES:

At 2:15 p.m., students placed a sign in the window: "1 bleeding to death", in order to alert police and medical personnel of Dave Sanders' location in the science room. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116618778130002.webp

Police initially feared it was a ruse by the shooters.

By 3:00, the SWAT officers had moved Sanders to a storage room, which was more easily accessible. As they did so, a paramedic arrived and found Sanders had no pulse. He had died of his injuries in the storage room before he could receive medical care. He was the only teacher to die in the shooting. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116618778893244.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116618779905186.webp

Patrick Ireland had regained and lost consciousness several times after being shot by Klebold.

Paralyzed on his right side, he crawled to the library windows where, on live television, at 2:38 p.m., he stretched out the window, intending to fall into the arms of two SWAT team members standing on the roof of an emergency vehicle, but instead falling directly onto the vehicle's roof in a pool of blood. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17116618781440067.webp

COLUMBINE EFFECT:

The Columbine effect is the legacy and impact of the Columbine High School massacre.

The shooting has had an effect on school safety, policing tactics, prevention methods (including gun control and metal detectors), and inspired numerous copycat crimes, with many killers taking their inspiration from Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold by describing the two perpetrators as being martyrs or heroes.

I know you have probably watched this video being reposted many times but in this Effortpost, after doing a lot of research, i'm going to tell you the unknown backstory of this infamous video.

THE VICTIM

Leonardo Alexander Caripe Brito was a father of 3 from Venezuela that moved to Peru due to the horrible economic situation Venezuela is currently going thru. An acquaintance of his described him as a normal man that did not have any problems with anybody.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17133820070623946.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1713382007226958.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17133820076810222.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1713382007756303.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17133820078427315.webp

(I also found picture of him with his children, but i'm not going to put them here)

Leonardo worked as a taxi driver in Los Olivos, he also rented a blue peruvian taxi motocycle to do this job, which is sort of a modified motocycle with a roof and backseats, the vehicle's plate number was 7568-ZA

THE MURDERER

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17133820083270419.webp

Frank Anthony Lopez Quiroz AKA "El Chatín" and AKA "Mata por gusto" (this last nickname literally translates to "the one who kills for pleasure") was a Peruvian robber, drug dealer, murderer, and extortionist.

FRANK'S CRIMINAL CAREER

Frank's first run-ins with the law apparently started in 2017 yet his first felonies aren't specified, although we can assume they had to do with drug trafficking and/or theft. In October of 2019 he was arrested as a suspect of manslaughter, he was found inside a car along with other men, it's also worth mentioning that when he was apprehended he tried to draw a gun out of his waist but he accidently dropped the gun, after that he was quickly handcuffed and they were all arrested; the police also found multiple guns inside the vehicle. During the trial the judge commited the mistake of granting him perole and two weeks later he was on the streets again commiting crimes. In September of 2021 he was caught on CCTV doing multiple robberies in the Breña District, after that the police issued a warrant for his arrest

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17133820086892855.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17133820087403145.webp

FRANK'S CAREER AS A EXTORTIONIST

Frank AKA "Killer for pleasure" was also a well-known extortionist in the zone of Los Olivos, specifically targeting taxi drivers, collecting a daily "fee" of 5 Soles (Peruvian currency) to let the taxi drivers work on """his""" zone, and if they didn't pay he would kill them.

LEONARDO NOT PAYING THE EXTORTION MONEY

Leonardo for one reason or another didn't pay this extortion money for 2 weeks, owing Frank the exact amount of 60 Soles. I did some research on how much 60 Soles were at that time, and what i found left me deeply distraught, the working father of 3 was killed for 16.4 dollars

THE MURDER OF LEONARDO ALEXANDER CARIPE BRITO

After 2 weeks of Leonardo not paying the extortion money, Frank AKA "killer for pleasure" had enough, and decided to confront Leonardo and solve the problem once and for all in the only way he knew, with violence and death threats.

In the late afternoon of February the 21st 2022 Frank confronted Leonardo in the "Las Peras" street located in a zone called "5 de Agosto". Witnesses state that they had a discussion, at some point in this discussion Frank drawed his phone and started recording, most likely with the gun on his right hand ready, this is when Leonardo, probably in refference to what they where discussing earlier, said the phrase "You are the boss", Frank replied with "the boss?" And inmidiately fired 4 gunshots at Leonardo, 3 of which stroke Leonardo in the head killing Leonardo Alexander Caripe Brito instantly, after doing that he swiftly left the scene. At some point after this, Frank sent the video to the taxi drivers in the zone as a warning.

THE AFTERMATH

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1713382009254186.webp https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17133820094687114.webp

Police was called to the scene and they inmidiately looked for witnesses, to the taxi drivers it was pretty obvious who did it and they told the police what they knew. The police then started investigating the matter having Frank Anthony Lopez Quiroz as the main suspect. The police also analysed the video itself, and they were able to identify the shoes of the man recording as a pair of Jordans (keep this in mind because it is going to be important later).

THE ARREST OF FRANK ANTHONY LOPEZ QUIROZ

After several weeks trying to locate Frank, they finally found him hiding in a rented property in San Martin de Porres, in March the 17th 2022 the Peruvian police sent a "SUAT" team (apparently Peru also has its version of the SWAT) to the property. Using a battering ram the "SUAT" team broke into the property to apprehend Frank, Frank quickly tried to tamper the evidence by throwing the weapons on neighboring houses and tried to escape by jumping off a window in the second floor, surprisingly this very well-elaborated escape plan did not work and he ended up injuring both of his legs.

Realising that his career as criminal was over, Frank Anthony Lopez Quiroz, the cold-blooded "killer for pleasure" started crying and apologising.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17133820096754246.webp

Frank after jumping off the window

After searching the property the police found guns, gun magazines, shooting targets, 6 kilograms of drugs, weighting scales for the drugs, 2 masks, a pair of Jordans that matched the ones that could be breefly seen in the video, a 9mm glock with a modified 32 round magazine (when the police found it the magazine had 28 rounds inside indicating that it was used before), and more interestingly a list with the names of the people that Frank Anthony Lopez Quiroz was extorting and how much money they owed him; the list had Caripe's name, the location where he was murdered, and the words "owes 60".

FRANK ANTHONY LOPEZ QUIROZ'S SENTENCE

Frank Anthony Lopez Quiroz was found guilty of at least 10 counts of manslaughter and he was sentenced to life imprisonment, he was also found guilty of drug and firearm related charges and he was sentenced to 17 years for this too.

LOCATION

While i was investigating i checked if the exact location was visible on Google street view and to my surprise it was indeed visible.

If you want to see it by yourselves i will leave the link right here: 938 Las Peras

CONCLUSION

Leonardo Alexander Caripe Brito was a working father of 3 that moved to Peru for a better future for himself and his familty but his life was brutally ended for no real reason by a sadistic criminal that was literally supposed to be in jail. This very heartbreaking case goes to show the sad, unfair, and dangerous situation that most of Latin America is going thru every single day, and this also goes to show how ineffective the justice system can be sometimes; the police had many opportunities to stop this menace to society from commiting more crimes early but for one reason or another they left him roam the streets. But we can maybe have some solace in knowing that the murderer was finally jailed and held accountable for all his actions, and we can only hope that he never sets a foot outside a jail ever again.

PERSONAL NOTE

So this is my first Effortpost and it took A LOT of research, writing and compiling to put together. For those of you who might be wondering, i did all of this research and writing by myself, it was truly difficult but it's finally done. I'm also planning to do more Effortposts like this one, so i just want to let you know that there's much more in the way. The iceberg of filmed suicides + links

After much research, I finally completed the iceberg of filmed suicides made by me. I was going to post it on the IcebergCharts website, but the owner of the site didn't allow me. So, I decided to post it here. I want to thank Watchpeopledie and the users here for helping me with my research. Thank you very much

An iceberg is a large mass of ice that has broken off from a glacier or ice shelf and floats in open water, usually in the sea. In this case, the iceberg is used as a visual way to present information, trivia, or data on a particular topic, organized hierarchically, reminiscent of the structure of an iceberg. On the surface are the most basic or widely known pieces of information about the topic. As you descend through the layers of the iceberg, the pieces of information become deeper, more specific, obscure, or surprising. The idea is that most of the topics with interesting and lesser-known trivia are "submerged," just as most of the mass of a real iceberg is below the water's surface.

In this iceberg, topics go from the most well-known and remembered videos to the most forgotten and unknown ones, based on my research and opinion.

PHILADELPHIA - Gunfire broke out at a Fairmount gas station, killing one person and injuring a private security guard.

The shootout took place at a Sunoco gas station on the 900 block of College Avenue, about 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, according to officials.

The armed guard, a 30-year-old man, was on duty inside the store when an armed man, 39, walked into the location with a gun.

Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore says the suspect confronted the guard after an altercation about the location of a parked barbecue truck.

Surveillance video provided to FOX 29's Steve Keeley shows the moment the armed suspect walked into the gas station, confronting the security guard before gunfire erupted.

Police say gunfire was exchanged between both men, according to video from inside the store.

The security guard, licensed to carry and employed by Pennsylvania State Agency, a security company working with the gas station, was shot in the leg. He was taken to Temple University Hospital and listed as stable.

The 39-year-old man was shot multiple times in the face and in the legs. He died at the hospital.

In the gunfire exchange, one bullet made its way across the street, hitting a second-floor bedroom window. Officials said no one was injured in the home.

Police are actively investigating the scene, including the inside and the outside of the gas station. They did find multiple weapons at the scene, but haven't made any arrests.

No charges have been filed in connection to this incident.

CHILD WARNING EFFORTPOST The suicide of 12 year old Katelyn Nicole Davis (ITZ Dolly) | full write up :marseysaki:

Introduction

This one's personal.

I remeber when this happened. It's on a personal level for me because Katelyn and I were born the same year, 2004, and I was going through some of the same issues she had around the same time. Struggling with mental illness, abuse, self harm and being hospitalized were issues I had to deal with, and at such a young age. This story absolutely breaks my heart on so many levels. So let's talk about Katelyn.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1713749255878234.webp

Katelyn Nichole Davis was born on February 20th, 2004 in Rome, Georgia. Around the time of her suicide, she was living in a trailer with her mom, Tammy, her step-dad Anthony and her 2 younger half siblings.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17137492562601912.webp

Livestreams

She was known as "ITZ Dolly" on a platform called Live.me where she recorded multiple hours of live streams of her everyday life where she would sing, take care of her younger siblings, do her makeup, talking to the chat and answering questions they had. During these streams she would sometimes break down and cry and share how her mom was selling drugs and doing pills, and how her step-dad tried to have sex with her. People also often asked her if her siblings were her kids because they were always on her streams.

Katelyn talking about how her step-dad tried to rape her

She says after she denied his advances, he called her a "worthless whore" and that she should hang herself. "He hated my guts but then he still tried to get in my pants" He told her to hang herself because she wasn't worth it.

Katie used vlogging to cope with her mental illness and poor home life. She shares how her home is practically unlivable, a piece of her wall is gone, she has no door and there is a hole in her floor leading outside. She wrote in "Diary of a Broken Doll" that one time a bird flew into her room through the hole, and how its extremely cold during the winter. She was worried about getting sick from the leaky pipe completely soaking her floor because "cold + wet = sickness". Her shoes would often break and fall apart from the floor being wet so she only had one good pair of shoes.

[lv_0_20240419215625.mp4]

Another thing she wrote was that her bed wasnt even a bed, it's an old rusty mattress on the wet floor.

Sometimes she would have Hundreds of people watching her streams, so they were all seeing this. They were all witnessing her living conditions and hearing all of these terrible things from Katie, so you think they would be worried enough to take action right? Most of her viewers were much older than her and they would ask her creepy things like if she lives alone. She once said "I'm not doing that! Im not taking my shirt off." And "yes I'm wearing stuff under my pajamas." Like who in their right mind is saying these things to someone who is so young. And it's not like theh didnt know, Katie has said countless times that she is 13. She has reminded viewers this over and over again so they are well aware she's a child even though they are saying these weird things. During all this she just keeps asking herself "why are all these people trying to get with me?"

"Im Thirteen" (she dosent seem super uncomfortable in this case, but in others she is)

Although, she did enjoy being complemented like in the video above because she was "used to being insulted" (being called pretty and told she is nice)

One time during a stream joking around with her little brother someone said "perv and proud" to which she replied "What? You're being a perv?? Thats my little brother! He's 4! Im 13!" Then she blocked and reported the person and began expressing how that is not okay. She also said the person was trying to get her and her little brother to touch inappropriately.

She was also a victim of catfishing, a girl named Alexa was pretending to be a boy named Ben and tricked Katie for months which affected her greatly.

She did end up dating a boy named Luke who was 19. Luke is a weirdo, in a stream talking about Katie after her death someone asks him how old he is to which he replies that he doesn't give out his age. Dude is clearly an adult you ain't fooling nobody

Katie talking about how she gets bullied and how Anthony told her he would go buy the rope for her to hang herself

[lv_0_20240419210641.mp4]

People would call her Ugly, an Emo freak, a monster, and one boy called her a lonely demon girl in front of the whole class while passing out papers.

Katelyn's dad

[lv_0_20240419210400.mp4]

When Katie talks about her dad, she describes him as wanting nothing to do with her, and even saying she doesn't have a dad. When she tried to see him he was uninterested, even though he only lived 2 miles away from her he still did not come see her. And when she was in the hospital after trying to commit suicide with pills, her never visited her or cared to see how she was doing. In one stream, she said the last time she saw her dad was in the store and when she tried to hug him, he walked away from her.

Katelyn's mom

Let's talk about Tammy for a moment, a neglectful, abusive, drug addict of a mother. Katie talks about her mom in a stream and explains how she mostly deals drugs, but she used to eat pills but now she crushes them up and snorts them right in front of her

Katelyn talking about how her mom sells and does drugs, and how she leaves Katie with her 2 younger siblings for hours at a time

Katelyn says if she asked her mom where she was going, she would just say she was going up the road but then would not come back home for a while.

In one stream, just the day before she committed suicide, the two have a heated argument.

Tammy is yelling at Katie to come out here, when Katie says she's getting dressed her mother continues to yell at her saying she doesn't care, and "get out here before I beat your ass" Katie has her phone hidden behind the curtain before she goes out. Tammy is complaining about the kids making a mess or whatever, Katie says that it is not her fault that they won't listen to her, and that she keeps leaving her to take care of them. Tammy said she told her to whip the children if they don't listen, which Katie replied that she can't because when she does they still don't listen. Lots of things were said back and forth, Tammy kept saying she was gonna whip her ass and that she needs to go back to the hospital. Katie brings up everything How Tammy did not get rid of Anthony as soon as the abuse happened, how shes snorting pills, bringing guys home and kissing up on them, how she's expected to do so many things and the pressure is just getting too much for her. You can hear the pain in her voice as Tammy continuously brushes her off and just won't listen "she didn't take her pill today" and "its none of your business what I do." She makes excuses for just about everything Katelyn says "I'm just trying to make money" when she brings up the selling drugs and "is he here now? No he's not still here" to the Anthony thing even though Katie's whole point was that she didn't make him leave immediately.

I can only imaging the frustration Katie was feeling during this, she had nobody except the people watching her streams. And if this was the way her mother was treating these issues then she must've felt extremely invalidated. She had no support other than her viewer's.

December 30th, 2016

The following video is the last stream Katie made before the one where she died

On the evening of December 30th 2016, Katelyn started a live stream on Live.me, it starts off with her walking outside, looking at thd camera with a blank stare as she walks toward the tree in her backyard. She has her hair and makeup done. She puts down the phone and spends about 15 minutes tying the rope to the tree.

Once she's done, at 16:56 she picks up her phone again and apologizes, saying she's sorry she's not pretty enough, she's sorry to the people who watched her streams, and she's sorry she wasn't strong enough. She cries and repeatedly apologizes over and over again. She puts the phone back down and steps up, putting the rope around her neck and continues to apologize. She says sorry to Luke, Sorry to Ben, to God, to everyone as she continues to cry. You can hear her breathing very heavily as the reality began to sit in. The first time she says goodbye, the rope begins to choke her a bit. she's scared, hesitant. She apologizes again, says bye, and kicks away whatever she was standing on. The sun is setting, as it gets darker and darker you can eventually only see a silhouette of her swaying. Before it gets too dark, you can see her clenching her fists and shaking as she spins for a bit (2 common effects while hanging) although there isn't too much flailing like you see in other videos.

Around the 30 minute point, Katie's phone begins to ring and go off multiple times. Towards the end of the video, you can hear her mother calling out to her from the house. Then the stream ends.

Circulation of the video brought media outrage. Why did it take so long for the video to be removed? Why can't the police force sites to take it down? All of these missing the point completely. They were more worried about how she died rather than what caused her to take her own life. Investigations were done on the family but nothing came of it. Other parts of the media were supportive and worried about youth depression and suicide.

Conclusion

Katie would've been 20 last month, its been 8 years since she committed suicide. Whenever I feel suicidal, I think of Katie. I think of how suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Things can and will get better, you just need to try to believe that they can. It breaks my heart to think about how she was so young, only 12. There's no reason a 12 year old should've been taking care of little kids for extended periods of time, there's no reason she should've been held up to such expectations. 12 year olds are meant to be playing outside, participating in sports, hanging out with friends etc. They failed Katie, she needed help and nobody gave it to her. No child deserves to be bullied or treated the way she was treated. She deserved a normal childhood. Rest in peace Katie.

If you or a friend are struggling with suicidal thoughts and feel you may be in danger of hurting yourself, I highly recommend calling 988 or visiting the site. Find a trusted person to talk to, it gets better.

CHILD WARNING Massacre at McDonald's (James Olivier Huberty) :marseymcdonald:

:fishwich: :fishwich:Wednesday, July 18, 1984, 4:00 p.m. James Olivier Huberty, 41, unemployed, walked under the distinctive golden arches of the McDonald's restaurant in San Ysidro. San Ysidro is a small town on the border of Mexico and the state of California. The man was wearing leopard pants and a black T-shirt.

:marseymcwagie:

Completing this "military" look were weapons: a semi-automatic rifle slung over his shoulder, a canvas bag full of ammunition, a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol tucked into his belt, and a twelve-gauge shotgun. The first person this unusual client encountered was John Arnold, a sixteen-year-old apprentice. A young bar employee, standing behind the service counter, saw a shotgun barrel pointed at him. Guillermo, a fellow trainee, joked, "Hey, John! This guy wants to shoot you!" Arnold recalled: "He was aiming at me. He pulled the trigger, but nothing happened. Irritated, he lowered the gun and started fiddling with it." Arnold turned and walked away indignantly, dismissing the whole incident as a stupid joke. Some customers who noticed Huberty's appearance immediately headed towards the main door. Others shifted uncomfortably in their plastic seats, and still others considered the newcomer a harmless freak, one of those with childish antics in their heads, trying to imitate movie idols like Rambo

  • :marseywhale: :fishwich:

Wthey entered the restaurant. The customers who survived the massacre greeted them with joy and indescribable relief. "What I saw was horrible," Jerry Sanders later told Times reporters. "I picked up the tiny body of some dead kid... He was my daughter's age... I went through a nightmare... That's what happened to most people." from my unit... I will never forget this sight..." Ambulances appeared at the scene of the tragedy almost immediately. The injured were taken to three hospitals. Stacy Rosebrough, a spokeswoman for Bay Hospital Medical Center, explained that seven of the injured were taken to their hospital. All were in fair or good condition. The two injured were identified as Juan Acosta and Felix Astafio. Acosta, a thirty-three-year-old resident of Tijuana, was shot in the left knee and shoulder, while Felix Astafio, a twenty-six-year-old resident of San Diego, suffered minor injuries to the chest and neck. Vera Brewer, head nurse at University San Diego Hospital, said three people were admitted to their facility. . Mericela Flores and Ronald Hererra were in critical condition. The woman had numerous wounds to her face and chest, and the man had serious wounds to his neck and chest. The third person, a woman, was not identified, but her condition was also serious due to extensive head wounds. Vera Brewer said that many concerned people called the hospital asking about their relatives or friends, fearing that they might have been there during the shooting at the bar. The spokesman for Municipal Hospital in Chula Vista, Robert Boland, announced the admission of five injured people, two of whom were discharged home after a short hospitalization. In addition, three children remained in the hospital: an eleven-year-old boy and a girl and a six-month-old baby. Fortunately, doctors described their condition as "relatively stable". The total result of the mass murder was shocking: twenty-one people died from the bullets of a madman, and nineteen were injured. The youngest victim was eight months old and the oldest was seventy-four years old. However, no one was able to estimate the psychological trauma of those whose loved ones became the killer's victims. Nor those who survived, but were to be marked with psychological wounds for the rest of their lives.

But, who was he?

:marseywagie: :marseymcdonald:James Olivier Huberty was born in October 1942 in Canton, Ohio. In the early 1950s, the "golden times" after the war, he became seriously ill with polio (infantile cerebral palsy known as Heine-Medina disease). The disease manifested itself with nagging pain all over the body, mild paralysis and difficulty in moving. Little Huberty was forced to wear special metal braces, becoming the laughing stock of his classmates. As an adult, he still had trouble walking, which set him apart from others. Huberty's father recalled: "His entire nervous system was crippled. He was twisted... The changes appeared when he was a few years old. Maybe that's why, when he grew up, he became short-tempered?" Huberty's father, Earl, was an inspector in a ball bearing factory, but what he really wanted to do was become a farmer. When Huberty celebrated his seventh birthday, his father fulfilled his dream and bought a farm thirty kilometers outside the city, but he continued to work in the factory. Earl's wife, Isel, was not happy with the move and did not intend to work on the farm. As a very religious person, one day she "felt a calling" and went to an Indian reservation in the western United States to spread the Christian faith. She left James and his older sister Ruth in the care of Earl. During 1950 Earl and Isel divorced. The boy was very upset about it. He couldn't understand why God sent him so much suffering: illness and the death of his mother. Bertha Eggerman, who lived near the Huberty farm, recalled: "Jimmy was a loner, but he wasn't a bad boy. He spent most of his time alone. He avoided people and didn't want to talk to them." According to Bertha Eggerman, the only thing that really interested him was guns. Alte Miller, a farmer-neighbor, agrees with this opinion: "He was a born shooter. He shot trees, cabbage heads... He was flawless." Etna, Huberty's wife, described her husband's youthful years this way. "He had a very unhappy childhood. He was very sad. He came from a broken home. He felt very lonely. His closest and only friend was the dog Ship." Despite his unhappy childhood, adult Huberty's life was quite bearable. The post-war times were a period of economic prosperity, thanks to which enormous opportunities opened up even for the least talented. Huberty, whom David Lombardi, pastor of Canton Protestant Church, described as "of average intelligence," enrolled at Mallone College, a small liberal arts college, after graduating from Apple Creek High School. There he met his future wife, Etna Markland. After graduating from school, he began trying to obtain a license as an embalmer and undertaker. A previous colleague, Reverend Denis Dean, noted that Huberty had "a considerable knowledge of ballistics.... He collected weapons... He lived with them... He was talkative about them but otherwise reserved." In 1965, he married Etna, and the wedding ceremony took place in a church in Canton. The ceremony was presided over by Pastor Lombardi, who knew both spouses very well. Etna's parents were active members of the pastor's parish, just like James' mother, who was very enthusiastic about being involved in the church until she felt a "call" to missionary work. Lombardi remembered Etna's husband this way: "When you were with him, you had the impression that he was hiding something. He was a closed man. A typical loner who avoided people. Sometimes he was also short-tempered." Locked up or not, Huberty's life went on without any major problems. In 1971, he and Etna moved into a large red brick house in a middle-class neighborhood in Massillon, Ohio, ten miles west of Canton. They renovated and furnished it. In 1975, Huberty received a license from the Funeral Institute in Pittsburgh to practice as an embalming specialist. But he did not make a career in the funeral industry. Instead, he got a job at Babcock and Wilcox, a municipal contractor in Canton. Don Williams, owner of the funeral home where Huberty practiced, recalled: "I told him he chose the wrong industry. He was a good worker, but he couldn't talk to people. That's why it's better that he became a welder. He could put on a protective mask and be himself." Huberty and his wife were satisfied with their well-paid, permanent job as a welder. Arlen Vorsteeg, a forensic psychologist who dealt with Huberty's case, said they could afford the payments for the house, which Etna called "their home." They could also afford to invest in a six-unit apartment adjacent to their house. Huberty's ambition was to lead a decent and comfortable life. He also wanted to live in a decent middle-class neighborhood with his wife and two children (two daughters: Zeila and Cassandra, called Bobbi). In 1971, these ambitious plans were realized and dreams of a family home came true. Outside of his family, Huberty had no friends to talk to. He wasn't very social. He was shy. In fact, he didn't even like being around people. "He may have been a good father, but he was incapable of establishing deeper connections with others." Arlen Versteeg claimed. Home and family gave him a sense of meaning. They were the fulfillment of the dream of family warmth, which he had been deprived of as a child. However, he could not control his violent temper and sometimes beat his wife and children. He fanatically believed in the principle of the sanctity of private land and private property. He also believed that everyone had the right to live according to their own conscience and to... their own car. He had a habit of hanging "no trespassing" warning signs on the fence of his property to protect his property from villagers and animals. Hateful quarrels with neighbors over dogs were commonplace. Cindy Straight, who lived across the street, witnessed one such confrontation between Huberty and her father. The Straights' stray dog defecated on the front lawn of the Hubertys' house. "Huberty went home to get a large shotgun, ran with it across the street, and then turned along the path towards our house. The gun was ready to fire. Fortunately, his father convinced him not to shoot and calmed him down. Later, my father told us that his I will never set foot on the Huberty property again," said Cindy Straight.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/171150054191278.webp an Anglo-American family among Spanish-speaking tenants. According to Etna, her husband, he did not fit into the Latino community at all. He didn't know Spanish. He felt lost, rejected and misunderstood. He believed in his mind that the period of his life spent in Ohio was a happy one. And maybe that's why he couldn't adjust to life in California: a different place and different circumstances. "I asked him if he wanted to go back to Ohio, but he said resignedly that there was nothing there anymore except cold winters and high rents." According to Sandy Martinez, assistant manager of the apartment building where the Huberty family lived, Etna's husband "was a calm man, but he would go crazy in the presence of strangers. He was always dissatisfied." One of the neighbors witnessed Huberty spotting a thief trying to steal his motorcycle one night. He shot him to scare him away. Psychologist Versteeg revealed that Huberty also had a habit of "scaring" his wife and children, but Etna did not take it seriously. She saw him not as crazy, but as a lonely and isolated man. She also knew that he was becoming more and more fascinated with weapons, killing and war. Devastated by the loss of the happy family life he had once known, Huberty found grim meaning in the idea that everything, the whole world, was coming to an end and he believed it would happen sooner or later. The earlier fascination with weapons and weapons magazines turned into a fascination with violence, destruction, wars and global destruction. At the same time, Huberty realized that something bad was happening to him, that he might lose control over his destructive thoughts and that he himself might become the destruction of others. He felt like he needed some help. Etna confessed that one day her husband approached a police patrol and demanded to be arrested as a war criminal. The police interrogated him and then released him. In June 1984, Huberty and his family left the Cotonwood apartment building and moved to another in San Ysdro. He wasn't happy there. According to the New York Times, Huberty struggled to stay in a middle-class environment, but still mingled in an impoverished neighborhood. The tenants claimed that Huberty dressed neatly and carried himself "like a manager." One of his new neighbors said that when they passed each other on the street, he greeted Huberty with a friendly "hello", but he never responded. "He walked past me, haughty, and he looked like an average guy, especially his face... I never saw him smile." Huberty was looking for a new job in the southern San Diego area. He had his eye on a job at a security company, but, as Marianne Sides, the company's secretary, explained, "He wasn't hired by us. In fact, that was one big 'no' that emerged from the four-page application and interview we conducted." "He was conflict-oriented. He was not suitable." Eventually, he found a job in another company, a security agency, where he was responsible for guarding a complex of semi-detached buildings. After a few weeks, on July 10, he was fired because his superiors found him unstable and insecure. Huberty, on the other hand, believed that the US Department of Defense was responsible for his dismissal. "Instead of work and happiness, he found bitterness and lost illusions in California." Etna recalled. She heard these words from him. He also accused her of the fact that when he tried to commit suicide, she should have allowed him to do it. Around the same time, Huberty received a letter from his father, with whom he had not had any contact for years. It was a great event, especially since it turned out to be the last letter sent to his son by his father. The letter contained a photo of a fresco that my father had just finished restoring. The fresco was in the local church and depicted the Jordan River flowing into the Sea of Galilee. "I was hoping he would come for a day to see it for himself." - Earl Huberty told reporters - "But it was too late." On Tuesday, July 17, Huberty revealed to his wife that he had tried to make an appointment at a mental health clinic because he had a vague feeling that he needed help from specialists. He said they were supposed to call him back. https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17115005420249755.webp :fishwich:

He waited by the phone, but no one called. He finally lost his patience and told Etna that he was going to ride his motorcycle to Imperial Beach. When he left, Etna called the clinic, but no one there knew to contact "Mr. Huberty". The Klinka director later explained that if Huberty had said he had a gun or had otherwise drawn attention to his actual mental state, he would have been admitted immediately. The next morning, Wednesday, July 18, Huberty drove to the San Diego municipal court, where, according to the police chief, , "was treated leniently" regarding a traffic ticket. Later they went for lunch to McDonald's restaurant, the same one where the tragedy was to take place in a few hours. Then they went to the zoo. Looking at the animals locked in cages, he realized that he was like them: locked up, a loser... It was probably then that he finally decided to make his fantasies of destruction and revenge come true. "Society has had its chance," he said to the surprised Etna. Some journalists suggested that Huberty had an argument on the day of the massacre, but this was not confirmed in reality. At noon, they both sat in their bedroom. Huberty stood up and started putting on leopard pants and a black T-shirt. He wanted to leave the house. "Where are you going?" Etna asked, "I'm going to hunt humans," he replied grimly. He finished dressing. When he left the house at 3:45 p.m. he said, "I'm going nearby." "You don't want to stay with us," Etna asked, "No," he replied. Etna told him that the man who bought their house in Massilion was willing to compensate for an unfavorable transaction and even help him start his own business. But her husband didn't listen. He left the house. Huberty no longer had hope that anything could change his life. He already knew it was over. With a heart filled with anger and a desire for revenge, he got into his old, beat-up Ford Mercury Marqius with a bumper sticker that read: "I'm not deaf. I'm just blowing you off" and drove towards a nearby McDonald's. The restaurant had special properties, perfect for implementing Huberty's last gesture. First of all, it was open to the inhabitants of the Mexican border town of Tijuana, and Huberty, with his right-wing views, felt resentment towards "strangers". He treated them as inferior to himself, and meanwhile they had jobs and felt at home in a white, middle-class bar. Secondly: Huberty often visited this place and saw happy families, satisfied with their lives, enjoying their closeness, that is, everything he wanted but couldn't get. Thirdly, McDonald's is one of the largest global corporations, a national symbol and an important element of the American landscape. It was also a cruel, if unconscious, imitation of Huberty's dreams of a happy family life, which McDonald's idealized so much. Neither the autopsy of Huberty's body nor the scientific analyzes of the events in San Ysidro led to a clear answer: why it happened with such tragic consequences an outbreak of aggression by one frustrated man. The father of one of the victims, Carlos Lopez, summed it up this way: "It could have happened anywhere." :marseywhale: :marseymcdonald:

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/1711500542161739.webp

Ten years after the tragedy of July 18, 1984, Times journalists decided to find the participants of the "events that shocked America" and find out what their lives are like after the nightmare they experienced. Here are their reports:

:marseyfacepeel:Three boys were lying motionless on the sidewalk in front of a McDonald's restaurant, and their bodies were riddled with lead. One of them who miraculously survived was Joshua Coleman, now twenty-one, a locksmith by trade who helps build highways and bridges. On July 18, 1984, when twenty-one people were killed by James Huberty's bullets, many of those who survived are haunted by terrible memories of that day. But Coleman says he's not one of them. "I remember exactly what happened that day and every time I think about my friends." That day, Coleman, Omar Hernandez and David Flores were going to buy donuts at a donut shop near the restaurant, but Joshua wanted ice cream. So they stopped their bikes in front of McDonald's. They were standing on the sidewalk when eleven-year-old Joshua heard a man screaming. He turned and was hit. He fell onto the pavement, his entire right side riddled with shotgun pellets. His friends stood nearby and the madman kept shooting, hitting them fatally. Joshua reacted instinctively - he lay still and played dead. How? "I don't know... I was lucky. He was shooting at us... and when I think about that moment, I always come to the same conclusion - play dead." Joshua Coleman's parents transferred him to another school, away from curious peers who bombarded him with questions. He didn't need a therapist because he and his parents believed he could deal with what he had experienced. He still keeps a large shoe box in which he collects hundreds of letters from strangers. They congratulated him on his courage and supported him with kind words. A twenty-one-year-old college student could also become a hero. Ken Dickey, who stood behind the bar counter and made extra money during the holidays. "For days after the incident, I wondered what I could have done. I could have found some metal object and hit the bandit on the head... Then I would have become a hero. But I didn't do it... I was so scared that I just prayed that he wouldn't get me ... and then I took advantage of the murderer's moment of inattention and fled to the auxiliary room in the back. Later, I was joined by three more employees, a woman with a child and a bleeding man." Crowded in a musty room, they waited out Huberty's murderous attack. Only the police got them out. When they left, they saw blood splattered on the walls and dead bodies in pools of blood. :marseyheadshotgory:

Ten years after the McDonald's massacre, Dickey lived in Payette, a small town in Idaho, with his wife and two-year-old daughter. He found a job at a local school as a chemistry teacher. He returns to San Diego only to visit his parents and tries not to think about what happened in San Ysidro in the hot summer of 1984. For a year, Aurora Pean-Riviera could not talk about her traumatic experiences. About being shot in the jaw, about losing two friends, an aunt and a cousin's child. About them lying dead next to her... Even the smallest things bring back spooky memories. "I walked into a bar and saw this man. He was screaming and waving a gun... I will never forget him or what happened next." Aurora was falling into depression. Therapy did not bring any improvement. After a few years, however, she learned to live with the feeling of irreversible loss, guilt and unanswered questions. "Before, I used to ask myself: why did it happen? Why us? Why the child? It was innocent... but now I understand that this is selfish thinking. Because if it didn't happen to us, it could have happened to someone to another". Aurora was eleven years old when she went to a restaurant for lunch with her aunt, relatives, and friends. When Huberty started shooting, she threw herself on the floor, squeezing her eyes tightly for fear of being watched. Then she gained courage. "It seemed to me that he was far away. I opened my eyes and then he saw me. He approached the counter where he kept his bag. He pulled out a shotgun and shot me." In 1994, Aurora is twenty-one years old and has a nine-month-old daughter. He works as an assistant in the administrative department of the Navy. One day in Kmont, she met Omar's mother, Joshua's friend, Adeline Hernandez. "She hugged and kissed me warmly, and then asked what I was up to. I replied that I was married. She was surprised. And my mother, who was with me, noticed that I was already an adult. Adeline replied that indeed, her son would also be an adult now man ". Adeline Hernandez is still surrounded by children - she works at Sunset Elementary School, where Omar attended. The children remind her of him. "It's good therapy. It's my medicine." The exuberance and vitality of the children who call her "grandma" help Omar's mother cope with each day without her beloved son. They help her forget the sight of her dead little boy and the hard days that followed... The sad feelings are no longer as intense.

He rarely gets depressed. And when she can't resist it, she turns on the VCR and watches a home video of her son, finding solace in these happy images. Etna Huberty and her two daughters: Zelia and Bobbi, experienced difficult times after James' death. They received threats and their younger daughter was harassed at school. They had to change schools twice during the year. Ten years after the tragedy of July 18, 1984, Etna is fifty-two years old and lives with her adult daughters in a poor, working-class neighborhood of Spring Valley twenty miles east of San Yisidro. Her home is a large van hearse, without wheels, in the yard. , which is littered with wrecks of old cars. Huberty has gray hair, cut short. Her face is aged and her eyes are tired. She works as a home nurse. She told a reporter who wanted to interview her that she couldn't pay the rent. She was willing to tell about herself and those events for $400... Some time after the Etna massacre, she filed a lawsuit against McDonalds, demanding payment of $5 million. dollars in damages, claiming that monosodium glutamate contained in the unhealthy food served by McDonald's, combined with cadmium and lead, which were deposited in Huberty's body while working as a welder, were the cause of the mad desire to kill that overwhelmed her husband. However, the lawsuit was rejected. Etna recalls that just before 4 p.m. on that fateful day, Huberty kissed her goodbye, which was quite unusual. He immediately added that he was going to "hunt people", which was no longer unusual, because Huberty often said various, crazy things... He also managed to say goodbye to twelve-year-old Zelia, to whom he told that he would not come back... and then he took the bag loaded with weapons and got into his old Ford Marquis. Police said he fired at least 250 bullets in the shooting that followed. McDonald's closed its San Ysidro restaurant and established a $1 million fund to benefit survivors of the massacre. Then the building was demolished and the area was donated to the city authorities as a public park :marseybonsai: :marseybonsai:

EFFORTPOST GRASS

good day everyone.

  • weigh sugar and add to butter when it has melted

  • add baking powder to flour

  • mix half a teaspoon of salt with flour

  • ad cookie spices with flour and mix

  • let the butter cool and add the egg (so you don't bake the egg)

  • mix everything together in mixing bowl

  • add chocolate chips IF it has cooled down enough (otherwise chocolate will melt)

  • preheat oven to 400°f/200°c

  • roll balls no larger than €1 piece

  • set oven to 300°f / 170°c

  • bake for 15-17 minutes

  • cookies may come out a bit soft, but this is normal

i originally wanted to request the grass award a bit sooner because i wanted to take a break and possibly quit wpd. mainly because the voxtek drama was eating at me. link1 link2

RIO BRANCO, BRAZIL – JANUARY 9, 2018 A 19-year-old girl, whose full name is Débora Freitas Bessa, disappeared on January 9, 2018. 2 days later, her family learned that the girl had been kidnapped during a robbery in the city of Rio Branco in the Brazilian state of Acre. A short time later, a video of her execution began circulating on social networks.

The footage shows Debora on her knees begging for her life, saying she did nothing wrong. But one of the men, the one holding the machete, tells the girl to look at the camera and tells her that she was guilty of killing his brothers. Further footage shows them cutting off her head and stabbing her in the stomach.

The police launched an intensive investigation because the case received quite a bit of media attention. They managed to catch one of the men in the video – the one with the machete. And then one woman, Luciele Souza do Nascimento, who was also supposed to participate in the execution. Both were sentenced by the court to 60 years in prison. After the appeal, however, he managed to reduce the sentence “only” to 36 and a half years. According to some sources, the two were supposed to be members of the well-known Brazilian cartel Comando Vermelho (CV).

It was the second reported mass stabbing in just three days in Sydney after six people were killed in a knife attack at a mall in the Bondi area.

Officers arrested a man and took him to an undisclosed location following the attack in Wakeley, about 30 km (18 miles) west of Sydney's central business district.

A large crowd quickly gathered outside the church after the attack, throwing rocks at police and demanding they bring out the perpetrator, according to two witnesses.

Police fired pepper spray as they pushed back people onto nearby streets, according to a Reuters journalist. More than 100 police officers were ultimately called in to deal with the unrest, and two were taken to hospital with injuries.

Monday's attack happened during a service at an Assyrian church called Christ The Good Shepherd Church.

Videos of the incident circulating online showed the bishop of the church, Mar Mari Emmanuel, standing at the altar of the church and speaking to worshippers as another man wearing a black jumper walks towards him and attacks him.

Horrified members of the congregation scream as the man stabs the priest several time in the chest, the videos show.

The church streamed the sermons live on its social media page. The motive of the attack is unknown.

The church said in a Facebook post that Emmanuel and a priest, Father Isaac Royel, were among the injured.

"We ask for your prayers at this time. It is the Bishop's and Father's wishes that you also pray for the perpetrator," the post said.

The wounded suffered non-life threatening injuries and were being treated by paramedics, police said.

The New South Wales ambulance service said at least four people were injured including a man in his 50s who was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

"There was so much anger because the bishop is loved by them, he's loved by myself as well, he preaches about the Lord and we love the Lord,” said a local resident who gave her name as Canny, and who saw the bishop put in an ambulance.

Emmanuel was ordained a priest in 2009 and then a bishop in 2011, according to the church's website. The bishop appears to be a popular figure on social media, with clips of his sermons garnering millions of views on platforms including TikTok.

Emmanuel became well known for his hardline views during the pandemic, local media reported at the time, with the bishop describing COVID lockdowns as "mass slavery".

A recent sermon posted online by fans shows him claim the United Nations was founded by Satan.

The attack drew condemnation from figures in the city's Jewish and Muslim communities.

The Australian National Imams Council said the attacks were "horrifying and have no place in Australia, particularly at places of worship and toward religious leaders".

"Extremely concerning scenes at a Sydney church," the Australian Jewish Association said in a social media post.

"Our thoughts are with our Assyrian friends."

New South Wales state Premier Chris Minns said in a social media post: "It's important that the community remain calm and continue to listen and act to the directions of Police and Emergency Services."

The most death you've EVER seen in a single video. 13-minute nonstop ISIS mass execution compilation

The title don't lie, I believe this is the video with the most people filmed dying onscreen, ever.

Started off with the Camp Speicher massacre, and then the rest is whatever I had lying around. I only included videos with >5 executions at once (ISIS loves to kill people in groups of 5 so I thought that was a good cutoff)

Before asking for sources, consult my ISIS archive first. It has all the videos shown above, minus three Camp Speicher ones.

Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil - Apr 16, 2024

A woman was taken to the police station, this Tuesday afternoon (16), after taking a dead body in a wheelchair to try to take out a loan of R$17,000 at a bank branch in Bangu, in the West Zone of Rio. .

Bank employees became suspicious of Érika de Souza Vieira Nunes' behavior and called the police. Samu went to the scene and found that the man, identified as Paulo Roberto Braga, aged 68, had been dead – apparently for a few hours . The police are investigating how and exactly when he died.

"She tried to simulate him signing it. He already entered the bank dead", explains delegate Fábio Luiz.", explained officer Fábio Luiz.

At the police station, the woman said that her routine was to take care of her uncle, who was weak. The police are investigating whether she is actually related to him.

Conversation with the corpse

A video, taken by bank attendants, shows that she was constantly trying to keep the man's head straight, using her hand and talking to the supposed relative – who, of course, did not respond .

"Uncle, are you listening? You need to sign. If you don't sign it, there's no way. I can't sign for you, I'll do what I can do”, says the woman.

She shows the document and states that he had to sign it the way it was there and says: “You hold your chair very strong there. Didn't he hold the door there just now?”, he asks the attendants, who say they didn't see him.

She shows the document and states that he had to sign it the way it was there and says: “You hold your chair very strong there. Didn't he hold the door there just now?”, he asks the attendants, who say they didn't see him.

"Sign so you don't give me any more headaches, I can't take it anymore", she says.

At that moment, the employees try to intervene and one of them comments on the man's paleness: "He's not well, no. His color isn't staying..."

"But that's just how he is," replies the supposed niece.

The woman responds: "He doesn't say anything, that's just how he is. Uncle, do you want to go to UPA again?", she asks, always without an answer.

At around 7pm, the woman was still giving her statement at the police station. The police are investigating whether she committed theft through fraud or fraud.

The police want to understand whether other people helped her commit the crimes and are looking for security footage. The elderly man's body was taken to the Legal Medical Institute.

"The main thing is: we continue the investigation, so we can identify other family members, and find out if he was alive when this loan was made, what is the date of this loan", explains the officer.

Video Description:

a slide show of crime scene photos of the murders of Nicole brown simpson and Ron Goldman with details about each photo, case info and O.J. Simpson describing what happen and how he killed them -

Disturbing interview with O.J. Simpson

This is a really weird interview where Simpson is being interviewed as if its a "hypothetical situation"

Case overview

Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman are brutally stabbed to death outside Nicole's home in Brentwood, California, in what quickly becomes one of the most highly publicized trials of the century. With overwhelming evidence against him, including a prior record of domestic violence towards Brown, O.J. Simpson became the chief suspect.

Although he had agreed to turn himself in, Simpson escaped with friend A.C. Cowlings in his white Ford Bronco on June 17. He was carrying his passport, a disguise, and $8,750 in cash. Simpson's car was spotted that afternoon, but he refused to surrender immediately. Threatening to kill himself, he led police in a low-speed chase through the freeways of Los Angeles as the entire nation watched on television. Eventually, Simpson gave himself up at his home in Brentwood.

The evidence against Simpson was extensive: His blood was found at the murder scene; blood, hair, and fibers from Brown and Goldman were found in Simpson's car and at his home; one of his gloves was also found in Brown's home, the other outside his own house; and bloody shoeprints found at the scene matched those of shoes owned by Simpson.

However, Simpson's so-called “Dream Team” of defense lawyers, including Robert Shapiro, Johnnie Cochran, F. Lee Bailey, and Robert Kardashian claimed before a national television audience that Simpson had been framed by racist police officers such as Detective Mark Fuhrman. After deliberating for three hours, the jury acquitted Simpson. He vowed to find the “real killers,” but has yet to turn up any new leads.

In a civil trial brought about by the families of the victims, Simpson was found responsible for causing Goldman's death and committing battery against Brown in February 1997, and was ordered to pay a total of $33.5 million, little of which he has paid.

In 2007, Simpson ran into legal problems once again when he was arrested for breaking into a Las Vegas hotel room and taking sports memorabilia, which he claimed had been stolen from him, at gunpoint. On October 3, 2008, he was found guilty of 12 charges related to the incident, including armed robbery and kidnapping, and sentenced to 33 years in prison. He was released on October 1, 2017.

O.J. Simpson left a suicide letter at the home of his friend Robert Kardashian before he fled in the white Bronco.

on a side note: Robert Kardashian read the letter he found on live t.v. this was the start of the Kardashian family fame..

so we can also blame O.J. for that.

O.J.'s "Suicide Letter"

[Letter discovered on June 17, 1994, shortly before Simpson's televised Bronco ride and arrest.]

To whom it may concern: First, everyone understand I have nothing to do with Nicole's murder. I loved her, always have and always will. If we had a problem, it's because I loved her so much.

Recently, we came to the understanding that for now we were not right for each other, at least for now. Despite our love we were different, and that's why we mutually agreed to go our separate ways. It was tough splitting for a second time, but we both knew it was for the best.

Inside I had no doubt that in the future, we would be close as friends or more. Unlike what has been written in the press, Nicole and I had a great relationship for most of our lives together, Like all long-term relationships, we had a few downs and ups. I took the heat New Year's 1989 because that's what I was supposed to do. I did not plead no contest for any other reason but to protect our privacy and was advised it would end the press hype.

I don't want to belabor knocking the press, but I can't believe what is being said. Most of it is totally made up. I know you have a job to do, but as a last wish, please, please, please, leave my children in peace. Their lives will be tough enough.

I want to send my love and thanks to all my friends. I'm sorry I can't name every one of you, especially A.C. man, thanks for being in my life. The support and friendship I received from so many: Wayne Hughes, Lewis Markes, Frank Olson, Mark Packer, Bender, Bobby Kardashian.

I wish we had spent more time together in recent years. My golfing buddies, Hoss, Alan Austin, Mike, Craig, Bender, Wyler, Sandy, Jay, Donnie, thanks for the fun. All my teammates over the years, Reggie, you were the soul of my pro career. Ahmad, I never stopped being proud of you. Marcus, You've got a great lady in Catherine, don't mess it up. Bobby Chandler, thanks for always being there. Skip and Kathy, I love you guys, without you I never would have made it through this far. Marguerite, thanks for the early years. We had some fun. Paula, what can I say? You are special. I'm sorry we're not going to have our chance. God brought you to me I now see. As I leave, you'll be in my thoughts.

I think of my life and feel I've done most of the right things. What the outcome, people will look and point. I can't take that. I can't subject my children to that. This way they can move on and go on with their lives. Please, if I've done anything worthwhile in my life. Let my kids live in peace from you (press).

I've had a good life. I'm proud of how I lived. My mama taught me to do unto other. I treated people the way I wanted to be treated. I've always tried to be up and helpful so why is this happening? I'm sorry for the Goldman family. I know how much it hurts.

Nicole and I had a good life together. All this press talk about a rocky relationship was no more than what every long-term relationship experiences. All her friends will confirm that I have been totally loving and understanding of what she's been going through. At times I have felt like a battered husband or boyfriend but I loved her, make that clear to everyone. And I would take whatever it took to make it work.

Don't feel sorry for me. I've had a great life, great friends. Please think of the real O.J. and not this lost person.

Thanks for making my life special. I hope I helped yours.

Peace and love, O.J. [smiley face inside the O]

Letter written by Nicole Brown Simpson to O.J.

O.J. --

I think I have to put this all in a letter. Alot of years ago I used to do much better in a letter, I'm gonna try it again now.

I'd like you to keep this letter if we split, so that you'll always know why we split. I'd also like you to keep it if we stay together, as a reminder.

Right now I am so angry! If I didn't know that the courts would take Sydney & Justin away from me if I did this I would (expletive) every guy including some that you know just to let you know how it feels.

I wish someone could explain all this to me. I see our marriage as a huge mistake & you don't.

I knew what went on in our relationship before we got married. I knew after 6 years that all the things I thought were going on -- were! All the things I gave in to -- all the "I'm sorry for thinking that" "I'm sorry for not believing you" -- "I'm sorry for not trusting you."

I made up with you all the time & even took the blame many times for your cheating. I know this took place because we fought about it alot & even discussed it before we got married with my family & a minister.

OK before the marriage I lived with it & dealt with (illegible) mainly because you finally said that we weren't married at the time.

I assumed that your recurring nasty attitude & mean streak was to cover up your cheating & a general disrespect for women & a lack of manners!

I remember a long time ago a girlfriend of yours wrote you a letter -- she said well you aren't married yet so let's get together. Even she had the same idea of marriage as me. She believed that when you marry you wouldn't be going out anymore -- adultery is a very important thing to many people.

It's one of the 1st 10 things I learned at Sunday school. You said it (illegible) some things you learn at school stick! And the 10 Comandments did!

I wanted to be a wonderful wife!

I believed you that it would finally be "you & me against the world" -- that people would be envious or in awe of us because we stuck through it & finally became one a real couple.

I let my guard down -- I thought it was finally gonna be you & me -- you wanted a baby (so you said) & I wanted a baby -- then with each pound you were terrible. You gave me dirty looks looks of disgust -- said mean things to me at times about my appearance walked out on me & lied to me.

I remember one day my mom said "he actually thinks you can have a baby & not get fat."

I gained 10 to 15 lbs more that I should have with Sydney. Well that's by the book -- Most women gain twice that. It's not like it was that much -- but you made me feel so ugly! I've battled 10 lbs up & down the scale since I was 15 -- It was no more X-tra weight than was normal for me to be up -- I believe my mom -- you thought a baby weighs 7 lbs & the woman should gain 7 lbs. I'd like to finally tell you that that's not the way it is -- And had you read those books I got you on pregnancy you may have known that.

Talk about feeling alone ....

In between Sydney & justin you say my clothes bothered you -- that my shoes were on the floor that I bugged you -- Wow that's so terrible! Try I had a low self esteem because since we got married I felt like the paragraph above.

There was also that time before Justin & after few months Sydney, I felt really good about how I got back into shape and we made out. You beat the holy hell out of me & we lied at the X-ray lab & said I fell off a bike ... Remember!??

Great for my self esteem.

There are a number of other instances that I could talk about that made my marriage so wonderful ... like the televised Clipper game & going to (illegible) before the game & your 40th birthday party & the week leading up to it. But I don't like talking about the past It depressed me.

Then came the pregnancy with Justin & oh how wonderful you treated me again -- I remember swearing to God & myself that under no circumstances would I let you be in that delivery room.

I hated you so much.

And since Justin birth & the mad New Years Eve beat up.

I just don't see how our stories compare -- I was so bad because I wore sweats & left shoes around & didn't keep a perfect house or comb my hair the way you liked it -- or had dinner ready at the precise moment you walked through the door or that I just plain got on your nerves sometimes.

I just don't see how that compares to infidelity, wife beating verbal abuse --

I just don't think everybody goes through this --

And if I wanted to hurt you or had it in me to be anything like the person you are -- I would have done so after the (illegible) incident. But I didn't even do it then. I called the cops to save my life whether you believe it or not. But I didn't pursue anything after that -- I didn't prosecute, I didn't call the press & I didn't make a big charade out of it. I waited for it to die down and asked for it to. But I've never loved you since or been the same.

It made me take a look at my life with you -- my wonderful life with the superstar that wonderful man, O.J. Simpson the father of my kids -- that husband of that terribly insecure (illegible) -- the girl with no self esteem (illegible) of worth -- she must be (illegible) those things to with a guy like that.

It certainly doesn't take a strong person to be with a guy like that and certainly no one would be envious of that life.

I agree after we married things changed -- we couldn't have house fulls of people like I used to have over & barbque for, because I had other responsabilities. I didn't want to go to alot of events & I'd back down at the last minute on fuctions & trips I admit I'm sorry --

I just believe that a relationship is based on trust -- and the last time I trusted you was at our wedding ceremony. it's just so hard for me to trust you again. Even though you say you're a different guy. That O.J. Simpson guy brought me alot of pain heatache -- I tried so hard with him -- I wanted so to be a good wife. But he never gave me a chance.

Audio O.J. Simpson's full Interrogation

Transcript of O.J. Simpson's interrogation by LAPD

This interrogation was conducted by Philip Vannatter and Thomas Lange, the Los Angeles Police Department's chief investigators of the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman.

Vannatter: ...my partner, Detective Lange, and we're in an interview room in Parker Center. The date is June 13th, 1994, and the time is 13:35 hours. And we're here with O.J. Simpson. Is that Orenthal James Simpson?

Simpson: Orenthal James Simpson

Vannatter: And what is your birthdate, Mr. Simpson?

Simpson: July 9th, 1947.

Vannatter: OK. Prior to us talking to you, as we agreed with your attorney, I'm going to give you your constitutional rights. An I would like you to listen carefully. If you don't understand anything, tell me, OK?

Simpson: All right

Vannatter: OK. Mr. Simpson, you have the right to remain silent. If you give up the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney and to have an attorney present during the questioning. If you so desire and cannot afford one, an attorney will be appointed for you without charge before questioning. Do you understand your rights?

Simpson: Yes, I do.

Vannatter: Are there any questions about that?

Simpson: (unintelligible)

Vannatter: OK, you've got to speak up louder than that...

Simpson: OK, no.

Vannatter: OK, do you wish to give up your right to remain silent and talk to us?

Simpson: Ah, yes.

Vannatter: OK, and you give up your right to have an attorney present while we talk?

Simpson: Mmm hmm. Yes.

Vannatter: OK. All right, what we're gonna do is, we want to...We're investigating, obviously, the death of your ex-wife and another man.

Lange: Someone told us that.

Vannatter: Yeah, and we're going to need to talk to you about that. Are you divorced from her now?

Simpson: Yes.

Vannatter: How long have you been divorced?

Simpson: Officially? Probably close to two years, but we've been apart for a little over two years.

Vannatter: Have you?

Simpson: Yeah.

Vannatter: What was your relationship with her? What was the...

Simpson: Well, we tried to get back together, and it just didn't work. It wasn't working, and so we were going our separate ways.

Vannatter: Recently you tried to get back together?

Simpson: We tried to get back together for about a year, you know, where we started dating each other and seeing each other. She came back and wanted us to get back together, and...

Vannatter: Within the last year, you're talking about?

Simpson: She came back about a year and four months ago about us trying to get back together, and we gave it a shot. We gave it a shot the better part of a year. And I think we both knew it wasn't working, and probably three weeks ago or so, we said it just wasn't working, and we went our separate ways.

Vannatter: OK, the two children are yours?

Simpson: Yes.

Lange: She have custody?

Simpson: We have joint custody.

Lange: Through the courts?

Simpson: We went through the courts and everything. Everything is done. We have no problems with the kids, we do everything together, you know, with the kids.

Vannatter: How was your separation? What that a...?

Simpson: The first separation?

Vannatter: Yeah, was there problems with that?

Simpson: For me, it was big problems. I loved her, I didn't want us to separate.

Vannatter: Uh huh. I understand she had made a couple of crime...crime reports or something?

Simpson: Ah, we have a big fight about six years ago on New Year's, you know, she made a report. I didn't make a report. And then we had an altercation about a year ago maybe. It wasn't a physical argument. I kicked her door or something.

Vannatter: And she made a police report on those two occasions?

Simpson: Mmm hmm. And I stayed right there until the police came, talked to them.

Lange: Were you arrested at one time for something?

Simpson: No. I mean, five years ago we had a big fight, six years ago. I don't know. I know I ended up doing community service.

Vannatter: So you weren't arrested?

Simpson: No, I was never really arrested.

Lange: They never booked you or...

Simpson: No.

Vannatter: Can I ask you, when's the last time you've slept?

Simpson: I got a couple of hours sleep last night. I mean, you know, I slept a little on the plane, not much, and when I got to the hotel I was asleep a few hours when the phone call came.

Lange: Did Nicole have a housemaid that lived there?

Simpson: I believe so, yes.

Lange: Do you know her name at all?

Simpson: Evia, Elvia, something like that.

Vannatter: We didn't see her there. Did she have the day off perhaps?

Simpson: I don't know. I don't know what schedule she's on.

Lange: Phil, what do you think? We can maybe just recount last night...

Vannatter: Yeah. When was the last time you saw Nicole?

Simpson: We were leaving a dance recital. She took off and I was talking to her parents.

Vannatter: Where was the dance recital?

Simpson: Paul Revere High School.

Vannatter: And was that for one of your children?

Simpson: Yeah, for my daughter Sydney.

Vannatter: And what time was that yesterday?

Simpson: It ended about 6:30, quarter to seven, something like that, you know, in the ballpark, right in that area. And they took off.

Vannatter: They?

Simpson: Her and her family -- her mother and father, sisters, my kids, you know.

Vannatter: And then you went your own separate way?

Simpson: Yeah, actually she left, and then they came back and her mother got in a car with her, and the kids all piled into her sister's car, and they...

Vannatter: Was Nicole driving?

Simpson: Yeah.

Vannatter: What kind of car was she driving?

Simpson: Her black car, a Cherokee, a Jeep Cherokee.

Vannatter: What were you driving?

Simpson: My Rolls-Royce, my Bentley.

Vannatter: Do you own that Ford Bronco that sits outside?

Simpson: Hertz owns it, and Hertz lets me use it.

Vannatter: So that's your vehicle, the one that was parked there on the street?

Simpson: Mmm hmm.

Vannatter: And it's actually owned by Hertz?

Simpson: Hertz, yeah.

Vannatter: Who's the primary driver on that? You?

Simpson: I drive it, the housekeeper drives it, you know, it's kind of a...

Vannatter: All-purpose type vehicle?

Simpson: All-purpose, yeah. It's the only one that my insurance will allow me to let anyone else drive.

Vannatter: OK

Lange: When you drive it, where do you park it at home? Where it is now, it was in the street or something?

Simpson: I always park it on the street.

Lange: You never take it in the...

Simpson: Oh, rarely. I mean, I'll bring it in -- and switch the stuff, you know, and stuff like that. I did that yesterday, you know.

Lange: When did you last drive it?

Simpson: Yesterday

Vannatter: What time yesterday?

Simpson: In the morning, in the afternoon.

Vannatter: OK, you left her, you're saying, about 6:30 or 7, or she left the recital?

Simpson: Yeah.

Vannatter: And you spoke with her parents?

Simpson: Yeah, we were just sitting there talking.

Vannatter: OK, what time did you leave the recital?

Simpson: Right about that time. We were all leaving. We were all leaving then. Her mother said something about me joining them for dinner, and I said no thanks.

Vannatter: Where did you go from there, OJ?

Simpson: Ah, home, home for a while, got my car for a while, tried to find my girlfriend for a while, came back to the house.

Vannatter: Who was home when you got home?

Simpson: Kato.

Vannatter: Kato? Anybody else? Was your daughter there, Arnelle?

Simpson: No.

Vannatter: Isn't that her name, Arnelle?

Simpson: Arnelle, yeah.

Vannatter: So what time do you think you got back home, actually physically got home?

Simpson: Seven-something.

Vannatter: Seven-something? And then you left, and...

Simpson: Yeah, I'm trying to think, did I leave? You know, I'm always ...I had to run and get my daughter some flowers. I was actually doing the recital, so I rushed and got her some flowers, and I came home, and then I called Paula as I was going to her house, and Paula wasn't home.

Vannatter: Paula is your girlfriend?

Simpson: Girlfriend, yeah.

Vannatter: Paula who?

Simpson: Barbieri.

Vannatter: Could you spell that for me?

Simpson: B-A-R-B-I-E-R-I.

Vannatter: Do you know an address on her?

Simpson: No, she lives on Wilshire, but I think she's out of town.

Vannatter: You got a phone number?

Simpson: Yeah (number deleted by STAR).

Vannatter: So you didn't see her last night?

Simpson: No, we'd been to a big affair the night before, and then I came back home. I was basically at home. I mean, any time I was...whatever time it took me to get to the recital and back, to get to the flower shop and back, I mean, that's the time I was out of the house.

Vannatter: Were you scheduled to play golf this morning, some place?

Simpson: In Chicago.

Vannatter: What kind of tournament was it?

Simpson: Ah, it was Hertz, with special clients.

Vannatter: Oh, OK. What time did you leave last night, leave the house?

Simpson: To go to the airport?

Vannatter: Mmm hmm.

Simpson: About...the limo was supposed to be there at 10:45. Normally, they get there a little earlier. I was rushing around -- somewhere between there and 11.

Vannatter: So approximately 10:45 to 11.

Simpson: Eleven o'clock, yea, somewhere in that area.

Vannatter: And you went by limo?

Simpson: Yeah.

Vannatter: Who's the limo service?

Simpson: Ah, you have to ask my office.

Lange: Did you converse with the driver at all? Did you talk to him?

Simpson: No, he was a new driver. Normally, I have a regular driver I drive with and converse. No, just about rushing to the airport, about how I live my life on airplanes, and hotels, that type of thing.

Lange: What time did the plane leave?

Simpson: Ah, 11:45 the flight took off.

Vannatter: What airline was it?

Simpson: American.

Vannatter: American? And it was 11:45 to Chicago?

Simpson: Chicago.

Lange: So yesterday you did drive the white Bronco?

Simpson: Mmm hmm.

Lange: And where did you park it when you brought it home?

Simpson: Ah, the first time probably by the mailbox. I'm trying to think, or did I bring it in the driveway? Normally, I will park it by the mailbox, sometimes...

Lange: On Ashford, or Ashland?

Simpson: On Ashford, yeah.

Lange: Where did you park yesterday for the last time, do you remember?

Simpson: Right where it is.

Lange: Where it is now?

Simpson: Yeah.

Lange: Where, on...?

Simpson: Right on the street there.

Lange: On Ashford?

Simpson: No, on Rockingham.

Lange: You parked it there?

Simpson: Yes.

Lange: About what time was that?

Simpson: Eight-something, seven...eight, nine o'clock, I don't know, right in that area.

Lange: Did you take it to the recital?

Simpson: No.

Lange: What time was the recital?

Simpson: Over at about 6:30. Like I said, I came home, I got my car, I was going to see my girlfriend. I was calling her and she wasn't around.

Lange: So you drove the...you came home in the Rolls, and then you got in the Bronco...

Simpson: In the Bronco, 'cause my phone was in the Bronco. And because it's a Bronco. It's a Bronco, it's what I drive, you know. I'd rather drive it than any other car. And, you know, as I was going over there, I called her a couple of times and she wasn't there, and I left a message, and then I checked my messages, and there were no new messages. She wasn't there, and she may have to leave town. Then I came back and ended up sitting with Kato.

Lange: OK, what time was this again that you parked the Bronco?

Simpson: Eight-something, maybe. He hadn't done a Jacuzzi, we had... went and got a burger, and I'd come home and kind of leisurely got read to go. I mean, we'd done a few things...

Lange: You weren't in a hurry when you came back with the Bronco.

Simpson: No

Lange: The reason I asked you, the cars were parked kind of at a funny angle, stuck out in the street.

Simpson: Well, it's parked because...I don't know if it's a funny angle or what. It's parked because when I was hustling at the end of the day to get all my stuff, and I was getting my phone and everything off it, when I just pulled it out of the gate there, it's like it's a tight turn.

Lange: So you had it inside the compound, then?

Simpson: Yeah.

Lange: Oh, OK.

Simpson: I brought it inside the compound to get my stuff out of it, and then I put it out, and I'd run back inside the gate before the gate closes.

Vannatter: Simpson:, what's you office phone number?

Simpson: (number deleted by STAR)

Vannatter: And is that area code 310?

Simpson: Yes.

Vannatter: How did you get the injury on your hand?

Simpson: I don't know. The first time, when I was in Chicago and all, but at the house I was just running around.

Vannatter: How did you do it in Chicago?

Simpson: I broke a glass. One of you guys had just called me, and I was in the bathroom, and I just kind of went bonkers for a little bit.

Lange: Is that how you cut it?

Simpson: Mmm, it was cut before, but I think I just opened it again, I'm not sure.

Lange: Do you recall bleeding at all in your truck, in the Bronco?

Simpson: I recall bleeding at my house and then I went to the Bronco. The last thing I did before I left, when I was rushing, was went and got my phone out of the Bronco.

Lange: Mmm hmm. Where's the phone now?

Simpson: In my bag.

Lange: You have it...?

Simpson: In that black bag.

Lange: You brought a bag with you here?

Simpson: Yeah, it's...

Lange: So do you recall bleeding at all?

Simpson: Yeah, I mean, I knew I was bleeding, but it was no big deal. I bleed all the time. I play golf and stuff, so there's always something, nicks and stuff here and there.

Lange: So did you do anything? When did you put the Band-Aid on it?

Simpson: Actually, I asked the girl this morning for it.

Lange: And she got it?

Simpson: Yeah, 'cause last night with Kato, when I was leaving, he was saying something to me, and I was rushing to get my phone, and I put a little thing on it, and it stopped.

Vannatter: Do you have the keys to that Bronco?

Simpson: Yeah.

Vannatter: OK. We've impounded the Bronco. I don't know if you know that or not.

Simpson: No.

Vannatter: ...take a look at it. Other than you, who's the last person to drive it.

Simpson: Probably Gigi. When I'm out of town, I don't know who drives the car, maybe my daughter, maybe Kato.

Vannatter: The keys are available?

Simpson: I leave the keys there, you know, when Gigi's there because sometimes she needs it, or Gigi was off and wasn't coming back until today, and I was coming back tonight.

Vannatter: So you don't mind if Gigi uses it, or...

Simpson: This is the only one I can let her use. When she doesn't have her car, 'cause sometimes her husband takes her car, I let her use the car.

Lange: When was the last time you were at Nicole's house?

Simpson: I don't go in, I won't go in her house. I haven't been in her house in a week, maybe five days. I go to her house a lot. I mean, I'm always dropping the kids off, picking the kids up, fooling around with the dog, you know.

Vannatter: How does that usually work? Do you drop them at the porch, or do you go in with them?

Simpson: No, I don't go in the house.

Vannatter: Is there a kind of gate out front?

Simpson: Yeah.

Vannatter: But you never go inside the house?

Simpson: Up until about five days, six days ago, I haven't been in the house. Once I started seeing Paula again, I kind of avoid Nicole.

Vannatter: Is Nicole seeing anybody else that you...

Simpson: I have no idea. I really have absolutely no idea. I don't ask her. I don't know. Her and her girlfriends, they go out, you know, they've got some things going on right now with her girlfriends, so I'm assuming something's happening because one of the girlfriends is having a big problem with her husband because she's always saying she's with Nicole until three or four in the morning. She's not. You know, Nicole tells me she leaves her at 1:30 or 2 or 2:30, and the girl doesn't get home until 5, and she only lives a few blocks away.

Vannatter: Something's going on, huh?

Lange: Do you know where they went, the family, for dinner last night?

Simpson: No. Well, no, I didn't ask.

Lange: I just thought maybe there's a regular place that they go.

Simpson: No. If I was with them, we'd go to Toscano. I mean, not Toscano, Poponi's.

Vannatter: You haven't had any problems with her lately, have you, OJ?

Simpson: I always have problems with her, you know? Our relationship has been a problem relationship. Probably lately for me, and I say this only because I said it to Ron yesterday at the -- Ron Fishman, whose wife is Cora -- at the dance recital, when he came up to me and went, "Oooh, boy, what's going on?" and everybody was beefing with everybody. And I said, "Well, I'm just glad I'm out of the mix." You know, because I was like dealing with him and his problems with his wife and Nicole and evidently some new problems that a guy named Christian was having with his girl, and he was staying at Nicole's house, and something was going on, but I don't think it's pertinent to this.

Vannatter: Did Nicole have words with you last night?

Simpson: Pardon me?

Vannatter: Did Nicole have words with you last night?

Simpson: No, not at all.

Vannatter: Did you talk to her last night?

Simpson: To ask to speak to my daughter, to congratulate my daughter, and everything.

Vannatter: But you didn't have a conversation with her?

Simpson: No, no.

Vannatter: What were you wearing last night, OJ?

Simpson: What did I wear on the golf course yesterday? Some of these kind of pants, some of these kind of pants -- I mean I changed different for whatever it was. I just had on some...

Vannatter: Just these black pants.

Simpson: Just these...They're called Bugle Boy.

Vannatter: These aren't the pants?

Simpson: No.

Vannatter: Where ar the pants that you wore?

Simpson: They're hanging in my closet.

Vannatter: These are washable, right? You just throw them in the laundry?

Simpson: Yeah, I got 100 pair. They give them to me free, Bugle Boys, so I've got a bunch of them.

Vannatter: Do you recall coming home and hanging them up, or...?

Simpson: I always hang up my clothes. I mean, it's rare that I don't hang up my clothes unless I'm laying them in my bathroom for her to do something with them, but those are the only things I don't hang up. But when you play golf, you don't necessarily dirty pants.

Lange: What kind of shoes were you wearing?

Simpson: Tennis shoes.

Lange: Tennis shoes? Do you know what kind?

Simpson: Probably Reebok, that's all I wear.

Lange: Are they at home, too?

Simpson: Yeah

Lange: Was this supposed to be a short trip to Chicago, so you didn't take a whole lot?

Simpson: Yeah, I was coming back today.

Lange: Just overnight?

Simpson: Yeah.

Vannatter: That's a hectic schedule, drive back here to play golf and come back.

Simpson: Yeah, but I do it all the time.

Vannatter: Do you?

Simpson: Yeah. That's what I was complaining with the driver about, you know, about my whole life is on and off airplanes.

Vannatter: OJ, we've got sort of a problem.

Simpson: Mmm hmm.

Vannatter: We've got some blood on and in your car, we've got some blood at your house, and sort of a problem.

Simpson: Well, take my blood test.

Lange: Well, we'd like to do that. We've got, of course, the cut on your finger that you aren't real clear on. Do you recall having that cut on your finger the last time you were at Nicole's house?

Simpson: A week ago?

Lange: Yeah.

Simpson: No. It was last night.

Lange: OK, so last night you cut it.

Vannatter: Somewhere after the recital?

Simpson: Somewhere when I was rushing to get out of my house.

Vannatter: OK, after the recital.

Simpson: Yeah.

Vannatter: What do you think happened? Do you have any idea?

Simpson: I have no idea, man. You guys haven't told me anything. I have no idea. When you said to my daughter, who said something to me today, that somebody else might have been involved, I have absolutely no idea what happened. I don't know how, why or what. But you guys haven't told me anything. Every time I ask you guys, you say you're going to tell me in a bit.

Vannatter: Well, we don't know a lot of answers to these questions yet ourselves, OJ, OK?

Simpson: I've got a bunch of guns, guns all over the place. You can take them, they're all there. I mean, you can see them. I keep them in my car for an incident that happened a month ago that my in-laws, my wife and everybody knows about that.

Vannatter: What was that?

Simpson: Going down to...and cops down there know about it because I've told two marshals about it. At a mall, I was going down for a christening, and I had just left -- and it was like 3:30 in the morning, and I'm in a lane, and also the car in front of me is going real slow, and I'm slowing down 'cause I figure he sees a cop, 'cause we were all going pretty fast. And I'm going to change lanes, but there's a car next to me, and I can't change lanes. Then that goes for a while, and I'm going to slow down and go around him but the car butts up to me, and I'm like caught between three cars. They were Oriental guys, and they were not letting me go anywhere. And finally I went on the shoulder, and I sped up, and then I held my phone up so they could see the light part of it, you know, 'cause I have tinted windows, and they kind of scattered, and I chased one of them for a while to make him think I was chasing him before I took off.

Lange: Were you in the Bronco?

Simpson: No.

Lange: What were you driving?

Simpson: My Bentley. It has tinted windows and all, so I figured they thought they had a nice little touch...

Lange: Did you think they were trying to rip you off?

Simpson: Definitely, they were. And then the next thing, you know, Nicole and I went home. At four in the morning I got there to Laguna, and when we woke up, I told her about it, and told her parents about it, told everybody about it, you know? And when I saw two marshals at a mall, I walked up and told them about it.

Vannatter: What did they do, make a report on it?

Simpson: They didn't know nothing. I mean, they'll remember me and remember I told them.

Vannatter: Did Nicole mention that she'd been getting any threats lately to you? Anything she was concerned about or the kids' safety?

Simpson: To her?

Vannatter: Yes.

Simpson: From?

Vannatter: From anybody.

Simpson: No, not at all.

Vannatter: Was she very security conscious? Did she keep that house locked up?

Simpson: Very.

Vannatter: The intercom didn't work appareny, right?

Simpson: I thought it worked.

Vannatter: Oh, OK. Does the electronic buzzer work?

Simpson: The electronic buzzer works to let people in.

Vannatter: Do you ever park in the rear when you go over there?

Simpson: Most of the time.

Vannatter: You do park in the rear.

Simpson: Most times when I'm taking the kids there, I come right into the driveway, blow the horn, and she, or a lot of times the housekeeper, either the housekeeper opens or they'll keep a garage door open up on the top of the thing, you know, but that's when I'm dropping the kids off, and I'm not going in. --- times I go to the front because the kids have to hit the buzzer and stuff.

Vannatter: Did you say before that up until about three weeks ago you guys were going out again and trying to...

Simpson: No, we'd been going out for about a year, and then the last six months we've had...it ain't been working, so we tried various things to see if we can make it work. We started trying to date, and that wasn't working, and so, you know, we just said the hell with it, you know.

Vannatter: And that was about three weeks ago?

Simpson: Yeah, about three weeks ago.

Vannatter: So you were seeing her up to that point?

Simpson: It's, it's...seeing her, yeah, I mean, yeah. It was a done deal. It just wasn't happening. I mean, I was gone. I was in San Juan doing a film, and I don't think we had sex since I've been back from San Juan, and that was like two months ago. So it's been like...for the kids we tried to do things together, you know, we didn't really date each other. Then we decided let's try to date each other. We went out one night, and it just didn't work.

Vannatter: When you say it didn't work, what do you mean?

Simpson: Ah, the night we went out it was fun. Then the next night we went out it was actually when I was down in Laguna, and she didn't want to go out. And I said, "Well, let's go out 'cause I came all the way down here to go out," and we kind of had a beef. And it just didn't work after that, you know? We were only trying to date to see if we could bring some romance back into our relationship. We just said, let's treat each other like boyfriend and girlfriend instead of, you know, like 17-year-old married people. I mean, 17 years together, whatever that is.

Vannatter: How long were you together?

Simpson: Seventeen years.

Vannatter: Seventeen years. Did you ever hit her, OJ?

Simpson: Ah, one night we had a fight. We had a fight, and she hit me. And they never took my statement, they never wanted to hear my side, and they never wanted to hear the housekeeper's side. Nicole was drunk. She did her thing, she started tearing up my house, you know? I didn't punch her or anything, but I...

Vannatter: ...slapped her a couple of times.

Simpson: No, no, I wrestled her, is what I did. I didn't slap her at all. I mean, Nicole's a strong girl. She's a...one of the most conditioned women. Since that period of time, she's hit me a few times, but I've never touched her after that, and I'm telling you, it's five-six years ago.

Vannatter: What is her birth date?

Simpson: May 19th.

Vannatter: Did you get together with her on her birthday?

Simpson: Yeah, her and I and the kids, I believe.

Vannatter: Did you give her a gift?

Simpson: I gave her a gift.

Vannatter: What did you give her?

Simpson: I gave her either a bracelet or the earrings.

Vannatter: Did she keep them or...

Simpson: Oh, no, when we split she gave me both the earrings and the bracelet back. I bought her a very nice bracelet -- I don't know if it was Mother's Day or her birthday -- and I bought her the earrings for the other thing, and when we split -- and it's a credit to her -- she felt that it wasn't right that she had it, and I said good because I want them back.

Vannatter: Was that the very day of her birthday, May 19, or was it a few days later?

Simpson: What do you mean?

Vannatter: You gave it to her on the 19th of May, her birthday, right, this bracelet?

Simpson: I may have given her the earrings. No, the bracelet, May 19th. When was Mother's Day?

Vannatter: Mother's Day was around that...

Simpson: No, it was probably her birthday, yes.

Vannatter: And did she return it the same day?

Simpson: Oh, no, she...I'm in a funny place here on this, all right? She returned it -- both of them -- three weeks ago or so, because when I say I'm in a funny place on this it was because I gave it to my girlfriend and told her it was for her, and that was three weeks ago. I told her I bought it for her. You know? What am I going to do with it?

Lange: Did Mr. Weitzman, your attorney, talk to you anything about this polygraph we brought up before? What are your thoughts on that?

Simpson: Should I talk about my thoughts on that? I'm sure eventually I'll do it, but it's like I've got some weird thoughts now. I've had weird thoughts...you know when you've been with a person for 17 years, you think everything. I've got to understand what this thing is. If it's true blue, I don't mind doing it.

Lange: Well, you're not compelled at all to take this thing, number one, and number two -- I don't know if Mr. Weitzman explained it to you -- this goes to the exclusion of someone as much as the inclusion so we can eliminate people. And just to get things straight.

Simpson: But does it work for elimination?

Lange: Oh, yes. We use it for elimination more than anything.

Simpson: Well, I'll talk to him about it.

Lange: Understand, the reason we're talking to you is because you're the ex-husband.

Simpson: I know, I'm the number one target, and now you tell me I've got blood all over the place.

Lange: Well, there's blood at your house in the driveway, and we've got a search warrant, and we're going to go get the blood. We found some in your house. Is that your blood that's there?

Simpson: If it's dripped, it's what I dripped running around trying to leave.

Lange: Last night?

Simpson: Yeah, and I wasn't aware that it was...I was aware that I... You know, I was trying to get out of the house. I didn't even pay any attention to it, I saw it when I was in the kitchen, and I grabbed a napkin or something, and that was it. I didn't think about it after that.

Vannatter: That was last night after you got home from the recital, when you were rushing?

Simpson: That was last night when I was...I don't know what I was... I was in the car getting my junk out of the car. I was in the house throwing hangers and stuff in my suitcase. I was doing my little crazy what I do...I mean, I do it everywhere. Anybody who has ever picked me up says that OJ's a whirlwind, he's running, he's grabbing things, and that's what I was doing.

Vannatter: Well, I'm going to step out and I'm going to get a photographer to come down and photograph your hand there. And then here pretty soon we're going to take you downstairs and get some blood from you. OK? I'll be right back.

Lange: So it was about five days ago you last saw Nicole? Was it at the house?

Simpson: OK, the last time I saw Nicole, physically saw Nicole...I saw her obviously last night. The time before, I'm trying to think...I went to Washington, DC, so I didn't see her, so I'm trying to think...I haven't seen her since I went to Washington -- what's the date today?

Lange: Today's Monday, the 13th of June.

Simpson: OK, I went to Washington on maybe Wednesday. Thursday I think I was in...Thursday I was in Connecticut, then Long Island Thursday afternoon and all of Friday. I got home Friday night, Friday afternoon. I played, you know... Paula picked me up at the airport. I played golf Saturday, and when I came home I think my son was there. So I did something with my son. I don't think I saw Nicole at all then. And then I went to a big affair with Paula Saturday night, and I got up and played golf Sunday which pissed Paula off, and I saw Nicole at...It was about a week before, I saw her at the...

Lange: OK, the last time you saw Nicole, was that at her house?

Simpson: I don't remember. I wasn't in her house, so it couldn't have been at her house, so it was, you know, I don't physically remember the last time I saw her. I may have seen her even jogging one day.

Lange: Let me get this straight. You've never physically been inside the house?

Simpson: Not in the last week.

Lange: Ever. I mean, how long has she lived there? About six months?

Simpson: Oh, Christ, I've slept(ital) at the house many, many, many times, you know? I've done everything at the house, you know? I'm just saying,...You're talking in the last week or so.

Lange: Well, whatever. Six months she's lived there?

Simpson: I don't know. Roughly. I was at her house maybe two weeks ago, 10 days ago. One night her and I had a long talk, you know, about how can we make it better for the kids, and I told her we'd do things better. And, OK, I can almost say when that was. That was when I...I don't know, it was about 10 days ago. And then we...The next day I had her have her dog do a flea bath or something with me. Oh, I'll tell you, I did see her one day. One day I went...I don't know if this was the early part of last week, I went 'cause my son had to go and get something, and he ran in, and she came to the gate, and the dog ran out, and her friend Faye and I went looking for the dog. That may have been a week ago, I don't know.

Lange: (To Vannatter) Got a photographer coming?

Vannatter: No, we're going to take him up there.

Lange: We're ready to terminate this at 14:07.

DISPATCHER: Has he threatened you in any way or is he just harassing you?

NICOLE: (Sighs) You're going to hear him in a minute. He's about to come in again.

DISPATCHER: OK, just stay on the line...

NICOLE: I don't want to stay on the line. He's going to beat the (expletive) out of me.

DISPATCHER: Wait a minute, just stay on the line so we can know what's going on until the police get there, OK? OK, Nicole?

NICOLE: Uh-huh.

DISPATCHER: Just a moment. Does he have any weapons?

NICOLE: I don't know. He went home and he came back. The kids are up there sleeping and I don't want anything to happen.

DISPATCHER: OK, just a moment. Is he on drugs or anything?

NICOLE: No.

DISPATCHER: Just stay on the line. Just in case he comes in I need to hear what's going on, all right?

NICOLE: Can you hear him outside?

DISPATCHER: Is he yelling?

NICOLE: Yep.

DISPATCHER: OK. Has he been drinking?

NICOLE: No.

DISPATCHER: He's in the back yard?

NICOLE: Screaming at my roommate about me and at me.

DISPATCHER: OK. What is he saying?

NICOLE: Oh, something about some guy I know and hookers and Keith and I started this (expletive) before and ...

DISPATCHER: Um-hum.

NICOLE: And it's all my fault and 'Now what am I going to do, get the police in this' and the whole thing. It's all my fault, I started this before. (sigh) brother. (inaudible)

DISPATCHER: OK, has he hit you today or...?

NICOLE: No.

DISPATCHER: OK, you don't need any paramedics or anything.

NICOLE: Uh-uh

DISPATCHER: OK, you just want him to leave?

NICOLE: My door. He broke the whole back door in.

DISPATCHER : And then he left and he came back?

NICOLE: Then he came and he practically knocked my upstairs door down but he pounded it and he screamed and hollered and I tried to get him out of the bedroom because the kids are sleeping in there.

DISPATCHER: Um-hum. OK.

NICOLE: And then he wanted somebody's phone number and I gave him my phone book or I put my phone book down to write down the phone number that he wanted and then he took my phone book with all my stuff in it.

DISPATCHER: OK. So basically you guys have just been arguing? (Simpson is yelling)

DISPATCHER: Is he inside right now.

NICOLE: Yeah.

DISPATCHER: OK, just a moment.

SIMPSON.: Do you understand me? (inaudible) Keith is a nothing. A skunk, and he still calls me. (inaudible)

DISPATCHER: Is he talking to you?

NICOLE: Yeah.

DISPATCHER: Are you locked in a room or something?

NICOLE: No. He can come right in. I'm not going where the kids are because the kids ...

DISPATCHER: Do you think he's going to hit you?

NICOLE: I don't know.

DISPATCHER: Stay on the line. Don't hang it up, OK?

NICOLE: OK.

DISPATCHER: What is he saying?

NICOLE: What?

DISPATCHER: What is he saying?

NICOLE: What else?

SIMPSON : (inaudible)

(Sound of police radio traffic)

NICOLE: O.J. O.J. The kids are sleeping.

SIMPSON: (More yelling)

DISPATCHER: He's still yelling at you?

(Nicole sobbing into telephone)

DISPATCHER: Just stay on the line, OK

(More yelling)

DISPATCHER: Is he upset with something that you did?

NICOLE: (Sobs) A long time ago. It always comes back. (More yelling)

DISPATCHER: Is your roommate talking to him?

NICOLE: No, who can talk? Listen to him.

DISPATCHER: I know. Does he have any weapons with him right now?

NICOLE: No, uh-uh

DISPATCHER: OK. Where is he standing?

NICOLE: In the back doorway, in the house.

DISPATCHER: OK.

SIMPSON: ... I don't give a (expletive) anymore.... That wife of his, she took so much for this (expletive) (inaudible)

NICOLE:: Please leave. O.J. Please, the kids, the kids (inaudible) please.

DISPATCHER: Is he leaving?

NICOLE: No.

DISPATCHER: Does he know you're on the phone with police?

NICOLE: No.

DISPATCHER: OK. Where are the kids at right now?

NICOLE: Up in my room.

DISPATCHER: Can they hear him yelling?

NICOLE: I don't know. The room's the only one that's quiet.

DISPATCHER: Is there someone up there with the kids?

NICOLE: No.

(Yelling continues in the background.)

DISPATCHER: What is he saying now? Nicole? You still on the line?

NICOLE: Yeah.

DISPATCHER: You think he's still going to hit you?

NICOLE: I don't know. He's going to leave. He just said that. He just said he ain't leaving.

SIMPSON: You're not leaving when I'm gone. Hey! I have to read this (expletive) all week in the National Enquirer. Her words exactly. What, who got that, who? (inaudible)

DISPATCHER: Are you the only one in there with him?

NICOLE: Right now, yeah.

DISPATCHER: And he's talking to you?

NICOLE: Yeah, and he's also talking to my, the guy who lives out back is just standing there. He just came home.

DISPATCHER: Is he arguing with him, too?

NICOLE: No. Absolutely not.

DISPATCHER: Oh, OK.

NICOLE: Nobody's arguing.

DISPATCHER: Yeah. Has this happened before or no?

NICOLE: Many times.

DISPATCHER: OK. The police should be on the way it just seems like a long time because it's kind of busy in that division right now.

(Yelling continues)

Dispatcher to police: Regarding Gretna Green Way, the suspect is still there and yelling very loudly.

DISPATCHER: Is he still arguing? (Knock at the door.)

DISPATCHER: Was someone knocking on your door?

NICOLE: It was him.

DISPATCHER: He was knocking on your door?

NICOLE: There's a locked bedroom and he's wondering why.

DISPATCHER: Oh. He's knocking on the locked door?

NICOLE: Yeah. You know what, O.J.? That window above you is also open. Could you just go, please? Can I get off the phone?

DISPATCHER: You want, you feel safe hanging up?

NICOLE: Well, you're right

DISPATCHER: You want to wait til the police get there?

NICOLE: Yeah.

DISPATCHER: Nicole?

NICOLE: Um-hmm.

DISPATCHER: Is he still arguing with you?

NICOLE: Um-hum.

DISPATCHER: He's moved a little?

NICOLE: But I'm just ignoring him.

DISPATCHER: Okay. But he doesn't know you're...

NICOLE: It works best.

DISPATCHER: Okay. Are the kids are still asleep?

NICOLE: Yes. They're like rocks.

DISPATCHER: What part of the house is he in right now?

NICOLE: Downstairs.

DISPATCHER: Downstairs?

NICOLE: Yes.

DISPATCHER: And you're upstairs?

NICOLE: No, I'm downstairs in the kitchen.

SIMPSON: (continues yelling)

DISPATCHER: Do you see the police, Nicole?

NICOLE: No, but I will go out there right now.

DISPATCHER: OK, you want to go out there?

NICOLE: Yeah.

DISPATCHER: OK.

NICOLE: I'm going to hang up.

DISPATCHER: OK

Before the advent of fingerprinting or criminal profiling, police departments around the world saw countless criminals slip through the cracks. That is until a French police officer named Alphonse Bertillon found an innovative way to do so. The work of Alphonse Bertillon was largely trounced by the introduction of fingerprint identification in the early 1900s. Nonetheless, his mugshot standard has remained virtually the same for the last 100-plus years.

Criminal identification for the Paris police department, developed the mug shot format and other photographic procedures used by police to register criminals. Although the images in this extraordinary album of forensic photographs were made by or under the direction of Bertillon, it was probably assembled by a private investigator or secretary who worked at the Paris prefecture. Photographs of the murder victims are assembled with views of the rooms where the murders took place, close-ups of objects that served as clues, and mug shots of criminals and suspects. Made as part of an archive rather than as art, these postmortem portraits, recorded in the deadpan style of a police report, nonetheless retain an unsettling potency. Among the traits Bertillon recorded was arm length, head length, and the distance between fingertips with arms outstretched.

Alphonse Bertillon the 'father of forensics', but really was given the proper name in 1954, the father of Scientific Detection.

Known also as the anthropometric system, criminal records also kept track of a suspect's height, ear size, foot size, arm length, eye color, skin tone, and any notable marks.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17121165082864494.webp

Within a few years, Bertillon's eponymous system allowed officers to scan their records by any category they desired — from foot size and hair color to birth marks and skin tone. He believed the evidence captured on film could serve officers during ongoing investigations. Taking photos also stopped officers from contaminating the scene.

Many of Bertillon's peers scoffed at the notion that photography would, in any way, help reduce the crime rate.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17121165085669622.webp

When Alphonse Bertillon joined the Prefecture of Police in Paris in 1879, the department had already collected 80,000 photographs of known criminals. They were captured under variable lighting, and at most, only accompanied by a name and address.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17121229738389554.webp

By 1883, Bertillon had collected 7,336 measurements and identified 49 repeat offenders. That figure reached 241 by the following year and kept growing as techniques got more practiced and more investigators began to started using Bertillon techniques.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17121165087070332.webp

It was a much more efficient system than the previous model, which forced police to rifle through stacks of photos with lacking details. Often heralded as the first forensic expert for his innovations, Alphonse Bertillon was also one of the first known people to identify a criminal by a fingerprint collected at a crime scene. He become well known individual within police and detective agencies while never working for then until Bertillon's father eventually got him work at the Paris police department, Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote in The Hound of Baskervilles that Holmes was "the second highest expert in Europe" — after Alphonse Bertillon. He also used compounds to preserve crime scene details like footprints. He also employed a dynamometer in his investigations, a tool which gauges just how much force was used in breaking into and entering a residence. Here are a few of many well known crime scene photos some taken by Alphonse Bertillon himself and others using his techniques.

Bertillon used floor grids to his advantage, standardizing their use in his crime scene photography to measure the size of victims and objects. He called this "metric photography.
