Things to note about marriage:

• Currency is not shared, and upon divorce you both keep your own currency.

• You can propose to multiple users but only one can accept. No furry harem for me :(

• Similarly a person can receive multiple proposals but can only accept one.

• There are no refunds even if the person you propose to ignores it or rejects it or immediately divorces you.

Tagging users

Write a message that will always display next to the content of the tagged user (only you can see it). Identify your enemies! Praise your friends! However the tagged user receives a notification of what you tagged them with ;).

This feature only available to tier 1 or higher patrons!

If you lose patron status then you lose the ability to tag or see your already existing tags of other users. However when you gain patron status again your tagging ability and previously-created tags will return.

Hello. Welcome to this disgusting shithole of a website. Be careful not to click anything besides this thread because it's mostly, well, videos of terrible things happening to people.

We'd like to preface this by pointing out that the author of this article, Dana Kennedy, did not reach out to WPD in any way before publishing. This is despite there being a very large "CONTACT" button at the top of every page. And this sucks, because it could have prevented some bizarre statements in her article like:

The site lists "do not post anything illegal under US law" and, perhaps surprisingly, "do not post animal cruelty/abuse," among its rules.

...which isn't remotely surprising, because animal cruelty videos are also illegal under US law. Aside from that, the site name is pretty clearly "watch people die" but that's maybe a bit facetious of an observation. Beyond that, zoosadism is a far cry from the disappointingly common (but still oft-misguided) morbid interest people have in their own mortality. WPD hosts legal videos of people dying—whether that's from disasters, active conflicts, industrial accidents, whatever—and that's the extent of it. This is far from the only site of this nature (at odds with the "sick website" headline Ms. Kennedy chose), places like TheYNC and DocumentingReality have been going for decades. WPD is notable only in that it does not serve ads, does not also host pornography, and goes above and beyond trying to keep children and bad actors off of the platform to the best of our ability. WPD is not, however, a substitute for parental involvement in the lives of their children and we cannot catch every minor attempting to access the site.

Touching back on the headline:

School shooter Natalie 'Samantha' Rupnow linked to sick website showing beheadings, burnings and gruesome deaths

Rupnow was not "linked" to this site. She went through more steps claiming to be of-age than pornography websites have (we are not required to do this, we do this because it is right, and a single slipup will have the user locked out of the site permanently, unable to even view anything), she had an account that posted nothing remarkable (12 comments in over a year, none of which got any engagement), she did not participate in the chatrooms, she did not send direct messages to anyone. As Ms. Kennedy herself pointed out, WPD has over 3,000,000 registered users. One of them barely existing and barely using the platform does not make "linked to" WPD.

Furthermore, WPD proactively contacts law enforcement whenever anything seeming to warrant this presents itself. It does not simply ban users and wash its hands of it. It is, again, a very proactive thing. WPD also cooperates fully and enthusiastically with any and all law enforcement requests when anything on the platform gets their attention.

There really isn't much to say in response to this travesty masquerading as journalism. Rupnow also had a TikTok account. She had a YouTube account. I assume she had an Instagram account. According to less shameful reporting, she was much more active on these platforms than here (again, she averaged 0.6 comments per month, for a total of 12 comments in all).

In closing: WPD hosts nothing but legal content, WPD goes above and beyond to do what it can to protect children whose parents don't pay enough attention to their online activities by trying to locate and lock them out of the site, WPD admires, respects and works with law enforcement whenever possible. I generally like the New York Post, but the standards for reporting appear to be virtually nonexistent, at least in Ms. Kennedy's case.

Go sensationalize somewhere else.

Parents, check your kids' history. Regularly. Constantly. Contact your ISP, they can tell you exactly where they've been, when and how long, even if the kid deletes it from their device locally.

Palestine is truly a land of losers.

The funniest part is the Palestinians (and several friendly nations) waited until midnight on that date - quite literally the second that England ceded control over that little patch of land to the Israelis - and then launched a massive attack to eradicate them. Jordan tried to help out and gave them a place to stay. The Palestinians responded graciously by trying to kill their king, using Jordan as a staging ground for more terror attacks, killed the Prime Minister of Jordan and kicked off a civil war. This is SOP for Palestinians.

It even happens in Western states that take in smaller numbers, thinking they'll assimilate. In 1992, Denmark took in a paltry 321 Palestinian "refugees". They checked back in on them in 2019, and 64% of them had gotten themselves a criminal record.

This is obviously not a racial defect or anything like that, it's purely cultural. And contemporary Palestinian culture is one of nothing but savagery and violence. Recently, WatchPeopleDie was contacted by a government agency (it doesn't really matter which one, since they all work together).

The issue was the presence of videos on our platform that—in their determination—represented "material that encourages, promotes or glorifies terrorist acts or which otherwise incites or assists others to participate in such acts."

They provided a series of video links that they identified as clips from ISIS training and promotional videos, requesting they be removed and "that you treat this matter as a high priority."

Our policy is to follow US law. Current US Federal Law (18 USC § 2339A&B) states:

• It is unlawful for a person in the United States to knowingly provide material support or resources to any Designated Foreign Terrorist Organization
• Designated Foreign Terrorist Organization means anyone on the US State Department list:
  • https://www.state.gov/foreign-terrorist-organizations/
• Material support or resources includes any service (such as webhosting) or training
• Training means instruction or teaching designed to impart a specific skill (such as videos)

I hope you'll notice how incredibly vague and broad that law is and how the groups on the watchlist are predominantly from the MIddle East. This is what presents a problem for us in those categories. If we were to leave up a video that was recognized as coming from an ISIS training or recruitment video, it is not impossible for some federal prosecutor to make the case that we are providing "material support" to ISIS and then come after the site.

Therefore, in order to protect both the site and its userbase, we are now expanding and clarifying the rule on what kind of videos are allowed:

Rule 2: Do not post anything illegal under US law

Additional clarifications that will be put in the sidebars of /h/ISIS and /h/Sandshit and possibly other categories:

• 1) Post raw footage whenever possible
  
  (Without logos, subtitles, title cards, background music, narration, etc)
• 2) Do not post videos that:
  • Focus primarily on the logos/slogans of Designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations
  • Provide contact information (email addresses, Telegram/Signal, websites, etc)
  • Contain propaganda slides (recruiting messages, praise for martyrdom, etc)
  • Are "edits" in support of such groups (usually fast-paced with various clips set to music and mixed with visual effects)
• 3) If you discover older WPD videos that may be prohibited under these clarified rules, please Report them

Some examples of banned material not explicitly mentioned above are translated ISIS/Hamas/Hezbollah/etc "nasheed videos" and instructional videos on how to commit terrorist attacks (like the ISIS knife attack tutorial).

This isn't a departure from our previous policy so much as a clarification. Almost all of these videos were already not allowed, we're just giving everyone a head's up to help make enforcement more consistent. /H/ISIS and /h/Sandshit aren't going to go kaput any time soon.

Now, if you're a Saudi Oil Prince who will give us a million dollars to hire a top-notch law firm, then we would be happy to have them take a stand against government censorship on our behalf. Otherwise, we are going to do what is best for the site and be more restrictive towards certain videos than we may have been in the past.

Recording and disseminating images of violence

The act of knowingly recording, by any means whatsoever, on any medium whatsoever, images relating to the commission of these offences constitutes an act of complicity in the intentional attacks on the integrity of the person provided for in Articles 222-1 to 222-14-1 and 222-23 to 222-31 and 222-33 and is punishable by the penalties provided for in these Articles.

The act of disseminating the recording of such images is punishable by five years' imprisonment and a fine of €75,000.

These "attacks" specified above include both murder and mere manslaughter. So basically, posting anything other than pure accidents (and maybe suicide but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a law against that one too) is not okay according to the French government.

However, they don't specify exactly which part of the code we violated (sexual assault, murder, etc), nor do they provide any examples. This, I assume, is because they hate the site as a whole and think hosting videos of people dying is equivalent to condoning the actions taken in all the videos here, going off the legal code above.

We've had censor-happy governments get mad at us about specific pages before (usually about stuff concerning their own citizens). A couple third-world shitholes have even blocked our site without warning, but France is the first one that's been actively hostile towards the site as a whole (according to the letter, Google may block search results even outside France after further review).

The true irony? They claim that "communication to the public by electronic means is free." Then immediately after that they go into detail about all the ways it is decidedly not free. Thankfully, we have American hosting where we aren't beholden to the whims of doublethinking censor-happy Euros.

Hello! Good morning! It took nine hours of banging my head against the wall to implement (I am incredibly stupid and bad at things) but WPD now has a feature that I've wanted for nearly two years.

WatchPeopleDie.tv presents:

CATEGORY FILTERING

The "Pins" toggle was going to be replaced with just a Community Mode On/Off toggle. Instead, we now have full on multi-category toggling. Behold, the default!

All types of content are on by default. But say you're only here for the community and to keep tabs on Ukraine or Israel:

Bam, normal death and gore content gone. Or what if you're some psycho who comes to WatchPeopleDie and you only want to see people dying for some weird reason? Don't worry, I've got your back!

Note that by default, the non-death throttling is still in effect to avoid a repeat of the experiment a few weeks ago: only five non-death posts will trend. You can, of course, just disable Community and/or Gore and/or Active Conflicts to remove these entirely.

This is persistent (per device; you can have a different default setting on, say, desktop and mobile), not limited to a single session or pageview, and my God was that a headache to do. But it's done. Seemingly very minor at face value, but this is actually hugely significant and one of the most long-term beneficial changes in ages.
