Staff Sergeant David Bellavia earned the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during the Second Battle of Fallujah, Iraq, on November 10, 2004. As part of Operation Phantom Fury, Bellavia's platoon encountered fierce resistance while clearing a house that was heavily fortified with insurgents. Bellavia at the time was outside of the house watching through the window to make sure no insurgents ambush the platoon. During the clearing, his platoon became trapped under intense enemy fire.
Bellavia decided to enter the house alone and faced multiple insurgents, 2 of them, armed with an AK and a PKM, were fortified behind a sandbag on a staircase, while they were firing at Bellavia's squad they mocked the soldiers in english, further enraging Bellavia. He looked towards his best friend, Sgt. Fitz and saw him bleeding out, unnerved by the look of fear in Fitzs' face. The wall protecting his squad from enemy fire was slowly being shred apart by the PKM fire as they were stuck in the kill zone which Bellavia had to sit aside and watch, but he did not. As mentioned above he retrieved an M249 SAW, warned his platoon to peel out and leave on his mark, and rambo-style, stepped right into the kill zone and began shredding the sandbag position apart.
Due to the insurgents being caught off-guard by the bold move, his platoon got to evacuate the building and tend to the wounded, but Bellavia did not stop there, he continued the heavy fire and kept the insurgents down, during the gunfight he wounds an insurgent that after the gunshot ran away and eliminates a terrorist with an RPG prepared to fire at him. He then charges up the staircase all on his own, engages in combat with an insurgent in a bedroom, just to have the wounded insurgent pop back up along with another one that came down the stairs, both were swiftly eliminated by Bellavia. During this gunfight, the insurgent in the bedroom sprints upstairs and Bellavia runs right back after him, not considering if any more enemies were hiding up there, he threw a grenade in and pushed up the stairs, eliminating the bedroom insurgent, while going up he noticed the room was completely filled with propane tanks that thankfully did not blow him up as a result of the grenade, he kept his weapon down to make sure he doesn't detonate the entire house which is when an insurgent on the rooftop jumps down onto him, he put the insurgent in a chokehold, which is when the insurgent bit him and struck him in the face with the butt of his AK-47, Bellavia pulled out his knife and stabbed the insurgent to death.
When his platoon mates re-entered the house, all insurgents were already dead.
For his valor, Bellavia was initially awarded the Silver Star, which was later upgraded to the Medal of Honor after a comprehensive review. President Donald Trump presented the medal to him in 2019 at the White House.

Moner Mohammad Abu-Salha
Abusalha carried out a suicide bombing against Syrian government troops earlier this week, and he is from Florida, Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., told reporters.
In a statement, Seminole State College of Florida said Abusalha transferred and enrolled in their school in August, 2011, pursuing an an Associate in Arts degree. His last enrollment was for the "Spring/Winter Term 2012." He previously attended Keiser University and Indian River State College. He did not earn a degree.
The suicide attack is believed to be the first such attack since the start of the Syrian civil war in which an American has been involved.
al-Nusra Front said Abusalha's truck was laden with 16 tons of explosives to tear down the al-Fanar restaurant in Idlib, a gathering site for Syrian troops.
Asaad Kanjo, an opposition activist based in the town of Saraqeb in Idlib province, said he heard that Abusalha arrived in Syria a few months ago and tore up his American passport upon arrival.
Kanjo said even a local commander with the Nusra Front was surprised about Abusalha, quoting him as saying that people do all they can to try go to the U.S. to get an American passport, and this man came here and got rid of his.
"From what I heard, I believe he was an American of Arab origin. People said that he spoke Arabic with a foreign accent, and he used to speak classical Arabic," Kanjo said.
He added that Abusalha was a member of the Nusra Front but was not a commander. "Most probably he came to carry out this attack," Kanjo said.
The truck bombing was one of four by suicide bombers who attacked over the course of a day in the area in Idlib province.
A picture on radical Islamic websites shows a smiling bearded man holding a cat identifying him as a "cat lover", whom officials believe is Abusalha.

Earlier today, terrorists affiliated with the PKK and YPG, and war criminals of the Assad regime carried out a joint rocket attack targeting civilians in the city of Al-Bab, hitting a gas plant, a market, and the Al-Khairat Mosque. As a result, 2 civilians were killed and 14 were injured, including 3 women and 5 children. There are no known reports of any legitimate military target being struck as a result of the attack, indicating that it was a deliberate terrorist attack on civilian life.
At the time of this post, brave heroes of the Syrian Joint Special Forces' artillery and rocket divisions are carrying out retaliatory attacks on PKK-YPG terrorist strongholds in the Olive Branch Operations area, with the leader of the group, Saif Bulad Abu Bakr, stating the following message:
"We ask Allah to guide the fire of our heroes in the artillery and missile units who destroyed the terrorist strongholds from which the treacherous missiles that targeted our people in the city of Al-Bab were launched.
The blood of our people is a trust around our necks, and we will continue to avenge their pain, and we will strike with an iron fist anyone who attacks our liberated areas."
I personally request all of my viewers to pray for the rockets to hit the terrorists with great precision, and more importantly for the swift recovery of the civilians wounded in the terrorist attack as well as those affected by the murder of the civilian who was killed.

BACKGROUND INFO OF EVENT
The actions for which Bellavia earned a Silver Star Medal took place on his 29th birthday. As a member of Company A, Task Force 2-2, 1st Infantry Division, his platoon was assigned during Operation Phantom Fury to clear a block of twelve buildings from which insurgents were firing on American forces
Staff Sergeant David G. Bellavia distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty on November 10, 2004, while serving as squad leader in support of Operation Phantom Fury in Fallujah, Iraq.
While clearing a house, a squad from Staff Sergeant Bellavia's platoon became trapped within a room by intense enemy fire coming from a fortified position under the stairs leading to the second floor. Recognizing the immediate severity of the situation, and with disregard for his own safety, Staff Sergeant Bellavia retrieved an automatic weapon and entered the doorway of the house to engage the insurgents
With enemy rounds impacting around him, Staff Sergeant Bellavia fired at the enemy position at a cyclic rate, providing covering fire that allowed the squad to break contact and exit the house
A Bradley Fighting Vehicle was brought forward to suppress the enemy; however, due to high walls surrounding the house, it could not fire directly at the enemy position. Staff Sergeant Bellavia then re-entered the house and again came under intense enemy fire. He observed an enemy insurgent preparing to launch a rocket-propelled grenade at his platoon. Recognizing the grave danger the grenade posed to his fellow soldiers, Staff Sergeant Bellavia assaulted the enemy position, killing one insurgent and wounding another who ran to a different part of the house.
Staff Sergeant Bellavia, realizing he had an un-cleared, darkened room to his back, moved to clear it. As he entered, an insurgent came down the stairs firing at him. Simultaneously, the previously wounded insurgent reemerged and engaged Staff Sergeant Bellavia. Staff Sergeant Bellavia, entering further into the darkened room, returned fire and eliminated both insurgents. Staff Sergeant Bellavia then received enemy fire from another insurgent emerging from a closet in the darkened room
Exchanging gunfire, Staff Sergeant Bellavia pursued the enemy up the stairs and eliminated him. Upon entering the room, Bellavia discovered it was filled with propane tanks and plastic explosives. He did not fire his weapon for fear of setting off an explosion and instead then engaged in hand-to-hand combat
with the insurgent, which led to Bellavia killing the insurgent by stabbing him in the collarbone.
Acting on instinct to save the members of his platoon from an imminent threat, Staff Sergeant Bellavia ultimately cleared an entire enemy-filled house, destroyed four insurgents, and badly wounded a fifth. Staff Sergeant Bellavia's bravery, complete disregard for his own safety, and unselfish and courageous actions are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
