That girl on the phone is heart breaking, 10 years old in that situation and still remembers manners when speaking to the dispatcher,"thank you, yes ma'am".
She seems so brave and on top of things ca and clear calling 911, "my daddy taught me what to do" and he clearly taught her well as shes staying quiet AND telling her friends to do the same.
She did everything right and was shot because the 15+ cops who are 3 or 4x her age and wearing body armour and AR's couldn't muster up 1% of that little girls courage.

I always hear or read this 'argument' (platitude), 'not all cops are bad', and then I think about how there are never any whistleblowers within the police force. None of them ever call out corruption within their own ranks. It's also far too common for all the underlings to just sit back and watch fellow officers apply excessive force and kill people; like officer Francine Martinez who has been convicted for failing to intervene during a police beating.
As a Canadian, the one thing that got me was how brutal 'pandemic police' were. Government officials kept creating more elaborate and creative schemes to fuck with citizens, basically destroying people's lives, and there were no officers who stopped and thought 'this is too far; we won't be enforcing that'. Zero. In fact they took joy in brutalising anyone who was opposed to their employers, like during the Trucker Ottawa protest in the winter when they trampled people with horses, tried freezing them out by confiscating fuel they used to keep warm, trying with all their might to stop monetary and food donations. Even members in the EU parliament said Canada looked like a scene from Iran.
Good cops? Look, these people are not your friends. They are securing a paycheck. To them, beating your face in, because their ego was threatened by you, was simply a Tuesday.

This was so frustrating to watch. Cops arrived just 2 minutes after the shooter entered the building yet it took them an hour to kill him. Can't they just blow the door to smithereens, throw a flashbang in there then storm inside the room? was friends with sal . wasn't really shocked to hear the news when i found out . he was a very violent and verbally abusive person . he often talked about rape fantasies with me and it made me really uncomfortable but i found him attractive so i just kinda went along with it . to this day i still get very dark thoughts about the shooting . i wish he would have taken my life instead . i deserve it more than those kids . they were just kids , they hadn't even lived their life . i've already done everything i want to do in life , so if it were to of happened to me i wouldn't even care . i also wish i would have done more when he was still alive . i wish i would have reached out more . wish i would have been more persistent with him getting help or even opening up about how he was feeling . he was very mentally disturbed . some of the things he would talk about i had had intrusive thoughts about but i had never once wanted to act on them . he constantly talked about how he wanted to act out on his fantasies and basically said if the opportunity presented itself he would take it . i often wonder if things would have played out differently had i done more . but i think i know deep down that it wouldn't have been any different and that's what upsets me the most . sorry for the rant , i don't ever really talk about this and i haven't had a stable therapist in over 2 years so i guess this is kinda the only place i can comfortably talk about this and know i won't freak anyone out .

i don't lack empathy . i saw a lot of myself in him and that's why i wanted to help him so bad because i saw a lot of my struggles in him . i saw a person that had potential and just need guidance . i had too much hope in him and i realise that now , though i never thought he would have done what he did . it's a very touchy subject for me to this day , especially with the one year anniversary of the shooting coming up , it's bringing up a lot of emotions right now . i know what he did was bad , but before then i didn't think of him as a bad person , i saw someone lashing out and saying extreme things for attention . i know now that i was wrong about him , but i don't know if i would go as far as saying i wish i had told him to kill himself . would that have been a better solution than what happened ? sadly , yes . i hate to say that someone ending their own life would be a better thing to happen but it's just the truth . i wouldn't want it to be on behalf of me though . i would not be able to handle the guilt if he had killed himself because i told him to . that's very serious . i understand your feelings though and where you're coming from .
