Uttarakhand news: The superstition of a seven-year-old child's parents that a dip in the Ganga River could cure their son of cancer cost a child his life in Haridwar on Wednesday (January 24), police said. The boy's parents kept chanting mantras on the banks of Har ki Pauri while his aunt allegedly dipped him repeatedly in the Ganga ignoring his loud cries, until he suffocated and died, they added.Bystanders tried to stop the woman but she refused to listen to them, the police said. Eyewitnesses reported the incident to the police, SHO of the Har ki Pauri police station Bhavna Kainthola said. The child's parents and aunt have been held for interrogation, the SHO said.
The boy was suffering from blood cancer and resided with his parents in Delhi, she said. He died of drowning, the SHO said, adding that further inquiry into the case is underway.

Rescuers found the fucking body of a fucking woman who drowned in an ice hole near St. Petersburg. The fucking search for the fucking poor fellow lasted for 9 days and only now they were fucking able to find her. Divers and underwater drones were fucking involved in the fucking search. The fucking body was fucking found 150 meters from the fucking Rozhdestvensky Bridge downstream. This is fucking approximately one kilometer from the fucking ice hole into which the fucking deceased dived.

Apparently the kid did die. A bystander jumped in and tried to save the kid. He performed CPR, but the kid still died. The mother told police that she was just trying to teach her kid how to swim. She was charged and sentenced to 15 years in prison. While she was in prison an inmate stabbed her 34 times, but she survived. She is unable to walk again, because of the stabbing.

Their deaths were slow and torturous. And most importantly she jumped into hazardous conditions without realizing there was nothing to pull yourself out of the violent sea, nothing but wet rocks and the water, the sea is literally folding over itself causing a suction like effect, constantly pulling their body under. This is one miserable way to die.

In October 2023, two migrants, a Venezuelan named Carlos N. and an unidentified Haitian, tragically drowned while attempting too cross the Rio Grande from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, too Brownsville, Texas.
The incident occurred when both individuals, struggling too reach the U.S. shore due too a large amount of mud, decided too return too the Mexican side but unfortunately sank. Carlos was with his wife and two children at the time; one child, aged 15, managed too cross the river, while the other, aged 8, did not. The Haitian migrant tried too rescue Carlos but was unsuccessful.
Both Carlos and the Haitian drowned in an area with a lot of accumulated garbage and water lilies.

Tragedy struck at a swimming pool in Zhengzhou, China, when a 25-year-old swimming coach drowned while practicing holding his breath underwater. Colleagues filming the session failed to recognize the emergency and continued to record even as the coach's condition deteriorated, leading to his eventual death.
Initially, everything appeared normal. Swimming instructor Li signaled OK with his hand before submerging. However, within minutes, signs of distress became evident. Li's body flipped from prone to supine, and bubbles started to emerge around his nose and mouth, indicating breathing difficulties. Despite his attempts to resurface for air, he eventually sank to the bottom of the pool.
Shockingly, those filming did not perceive any irregularities and continued filming even as Li descended helplessly to the pool floor. It was only when another gym client realized something was amiss that an attempt was made to rescue Li. Li's sister shared the harrowing footage online, questioning why the onlookers failed to act sooner.

- A young girl is filming her dad swimming in a lake. When he tries to get back out, he suffers some sort of health problem and ends up drowning. EDIT TO ADD SINCE YALL GET PRESSED WAY TOO EASY: apparently there was no medical condition blah blah, I went off the info provided to me when I came across the video, blah blah.
