1. Gun buy back was mandatory. Good thing too, it worked and a lot of people got $2k for a rusty old farm 22. No more mass shootings since (bar the nutter New Zealander.)

It was a 2 week lock down where you could not go anywhere where groups were at eg nightclubs, parties. etc. Was still ok to go out shopping, play sport, buy drugs etc. Other than the 2 weeks, it was as normal, use handwash, wear masks. Media reported on one hotel in Melbourne that was totally locked in for a month! This is where your notion comes from. It was a housing trust building full of losers that all had covid. Granted though, this was over the top. But it was one building in a gigantic country.

I lived in USA for 3 years. I can tell you, your country is fucked. I am thankful every day that I live here. Best country in the world. And no, I have never needed a gun and I get up to a whole lot of stuff. When there are no guns, shit gets settled with fists, or maybe knives... but rarely. That said, as much as I think there needs to be gun control, I would (and did) arm myself when in USA because every other fucker does have a gun. And there-in lies the problem. The thing is that even when the guns are illegal, they're coming from somewhere (in US's case it would most likely be Mexico) and you can see that even in Europe. Even swedes and Finns have had firearm incidents and they are probs one of the most non-gun wanting people which means that only the criminals have guns.
