In the UK, in 2013, some anti-pedo vigilantes killed an autistic guy by beating and burning him alive in the street. He was innocent but he was harassed by his neighbours who spread a false rumour of him being a pedo.

One of the murderers said he was filming his daughter and a group of neighbors came up to his house, calling him a pedo. When the police was called to the disturbance, they basically blamed the guy and took him in before releasing him later. Then two of the neighbors took matters into their own hands and just killed him. The police was blamed for giving the appearance that the accusation was legitimate and not acting on the many calls he made to the police about the death threats.
