This incident ocurred in May the 3rd 2014, in the capital city of Santiago, Chile.
Erasmo Henríquez Pontillo was a 26-year-old Chilean man; There's very little information about him online and no pictures of him available.
In the afternoon of May the 3rd the young man made his way to the Costanera Center building complex and then onto the top of one of the 4 buildings, the building he was on top of had 26 stories. Erasmo stood on the ledge covered in a sort of flag that had the words 'love' and 'peace' written on it while reportedly saying "anticapitalist" phrases, this could lead us to think that he was probably left-leaning. Reports say that he stood there for 2 hours before he did some signs with his hand and jumped off the building, his last words before jumping were "i'm against all the capital system".

Aftermath
His clothes were removed here for some reason
After jumping first responders reportedly did their best efforts to save the young man's life but it unfortunately wasn't enough and he was pronounced dead right there and then. The PDI (Chilean investigation police) concluded that he there were no third parties involved. The reason why Erasmo killed was never known as he apparently did not leave a suicide note.
THE COSTANERA CENTER AND ITS REPUTATION CAUSED BY SUICIDES
The Costanera Center was known for a while as a place for suicidal people to kill themselves, the suicide of 26-year-old Erasmo Henríquez Pontillo wasn't the first suicide nor only suicide that ocurred at the place, oddly enough, it wasn't the even the first suicide that week; the Costanera Center have had in a span of 10 years 73 attempts of suicide, 24 of which were unfortunately successful. The first suicide occurred in 2013, months after the inaugaration of the Costanera Center. 34-year-old Lorena Perez Queulo was informed that his 4-year-old child that was battling againts Leukemia passed away at the hospital he was in, Lorena went to the hospital to give his final farewell to his deceased son, after this she went to the Costanera Center's mall in a lot emotional pain and made her way to 7th floor thru an emergency starecase to then jump off mere hours after being informed of his son's death. She was sent to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead, she left a bible and a farewell note.
Almost all the suicides at the Costanera Center were done via jumping off a very high place, except for one that was done via cyanide poisoning.
Why do people choose to kill themselves at Costanera Center? We can only guess, but we have to also have in mind that Chile has a fairly high suicide rate. According to an statistic from 2019, Chile had a suicide rate of 9,9 suicides for every 100.000 people, being the 4th highest suicide rate in South America, the 2nd Latin American country with the most suicides just behind Uruguay. At the time the amount of people killing themselves was higher than the the amount of people being murdered, 2.1 people killed themselves for every 1 person that was murdered, and there were about 5 suicides every single day that year (this was in 2019, these statistics have probably changed since then).
In 2022 the Costanera Center decided to finally prevent any more suicides from occurring after a 40-year-old man jumped and fell over woman, killing himself and seriously injuring the woman (she survived). They placed 2.50 meter tall (about 8 foot 2) fences on the floors 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of the mall and put so-called "SOS Totems" there aswell. Their measures proved to be effective as there were no more suicides at the building complex.

Eugene, Oregon, USA
https://apnews.com/article/washington-police-officer-two-killed-cd799e47f38c89177339e973aee131b6
SEATTLE (AP) — A former Washington state police officer wanted after killing two people, including his ex-wife, was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound following a chase in Oregon, authorities said Tuesday. His 1-year-old baby, who was with him, was taken safely into custody by Oregon State Police troopers.
The troopers began chasing the ex-Yakima officer, Elias Huizar, when they saw him driving southbound on Interstate 5 near Eugene, Oregon, at about 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Oregon State Police Capt. Kyle Kennedy said at a media briefing Tuesday evening that Huizar fled after a trooper tried to pull over his vehicle.
Troopers pursued Huizar's vehicle at high speeds and at one point exchanged gunfire with him, according to Kennedy. The pursuit, over about 25 miles (40 kilometers), ended when Huizar's vehicle hit a commercial vehicle that was stopped on the interstate because of an unrelated crash.
Huizar's vehicle spun and became immobile in the median, and when troopers tried to make contact with him, he shot himself and died at the scene, Kennedy said. The 1-year-old was uninjured and removed from the vehicle, Kennedy said.
He additionally said he didn't believe anyone was hurt during the exchange of gunfire with police.
"All day our thoughts have been how to rescue this young boy and we're thankful for the outcome that occurred," Kennedy said.
Huizar went on the run Monday afternoon after killing two people, including his ex-wife, Amber Rodriguez, 31, whom he shot eight times outside a West Richland elementary school in front of their 9-year-old son and other witnesses, police said. Rodriguez had recently obtained a protection order against Huizar.
Rodriguez worked at the school, while Huizar had recently worked as a substitute teacher in the Richland School District, the district confirmed in a Facebook post Tuesday.
Police did not identify the other victim, whose body was found later Monday at Huizar's house, except to say she was Huizar's girlfriend.
According to court records, Huizar, 39, had at least until early this year been living with a 17-year-old girl whom he met when she was 11 and he was a middle school resource officer in Yakima. He impregnated her when she was 15; their baby recently turned 1, Rodriguez wrote in seeking a protection order against Huizar.
The Yakima Police Department said in a Facebook post Tuesday that Huizar left the department in 2021 "after receiving discipline." It did not provide any other information.
In February, the 17-year-old girl reported to police that Huizar sexually assaulted a 16-year-old friend, who had passed out at their house. Huizar was charged with rape of both the teen and her friend. He was out on bail pending trial, authorities said.
Rodriguez wrote in her petition for a protection order that her divorce from Huizar became final last year and that she had not been aware that he was having a relationship with the same teen he had met as a resource officer until he was charged with rape.
She said she feared for the safety of her children and that she would be seeking a modification of their parenting plan. She filed for the modification last Friday, court records show. The protection order was issued in February and was to remain in effect for a year; under it, Huizar was barred from possessing firearms.
The Richland School District said it terminated Huizar's employment following his arrest in February. It said it had received recommendations from the Yakima School District before hiring him in 2022, and that he had passed background checks.
"We are extremely disheartened that information about Mr. Huizar's past was not disclosed to us through the various processes we have in place to vet RSD candidates for employment," the district said. "It is the expectation for individuals who apply for employment with RSD to be forthcoming and truthful in their applications."
In addition to the videos, investigators also released 85 pages of police reports. The documents indicate that prior to the chase along Interstate 5, police and the FBI had tracked Huizar to the Portland area after he used his bank card at an ATM. A convenience store clerk also spotted him.
The police reports indicate Huizar swapped out license plates with stolen plates to avoid getting caught. Local police and the FBI did not want the Amber Alert updated with the stolen plate information, fearing Huizar would just steal another plate, preventing law enforcement from tracking him down.

On Monday, April 22 around 3:20 p.m., Huizar allegedly shot and killed his ex-wife outside Wiley Elementary School in West Richland. The school went on lockdown. According to an arrest warrant issued by Benton County, Huizar's nine-year-old son reportedly saw him kill his mother. Officials say she collapsed yet Huizar kept shooting her.
When police learned of the shooting outside the school and learned the identity of the suspect, they executed a search warrant at his home.
Huizar was not in the home, but another woman was found dead inside.
She is believed to be his 17-year-old live-in girlfriend and the mother of the 1-year-old who was abducted by Huizar. It's unclear at this time how she died.
Information is still coming to light, but FOX 13 has confirmed that Huizar was a former Yakima Police officer and a school resource officer (SRO) at Washington Middle School in Yakima.
In early February, Huizar was arrested for the rape of a child.
According to legal documents, his 17-year-old girlfriend had a friend over. Huizar is accused of giving them both alcohol, and both fell asleep. The documents say the girlfriend woke up to Huizar sexually assaulting her unconscious 16-year-old friend.
The other teen woke up during the assault and the pair took the then 10-month old and left (that child is the 1-year-old who was abducted).
He followed them in another car while the teens drove around, looking for police. When police went to arrest him for that, he ran back into the home and barricaded himself inside. A SWAT team was called in. After three hours, he was arrested.
Huizar posted bail.
The legal documents said that Huizar had met his girlfriend while he was a school resource officer at her middle school. He got her pregnant at the age of 15, while he was still employed at the school.
That teen was 11 when the pair first met. She reported the inappropriate contact with Huizar, but charges were dropped. She claims they reconnected after he reached out via Facebook. They initiated a sexual relationship and their child was born a year later.
Huizar worked for the Yakima Police Department previously, but "left the department after receiving discipline in late 2021," the department said in a statement. It's unclear what that discipline was for.
Just days after Huizar was arrested for the child rape charges, his ex-wife filed for a protection order against him. She told the courts that this was the second time she applied for one, and that she "believed our children are in danger if the respondent [Huizar] is allowed visitation" of their two children.
The filing called for an immediate protection order and immediate weapons surrender from Huizar.
The ex-wife wrote in her filing that during their marriage, he was emotionally and verbally abusive.
She also said that on multiple occasions, Huizar would have sex with his ex-girlfriend right in front of their shared children while the kids were at their dad's house. She alleges that Huizar and the girlfriend would have explosive arguments, which sometimes ended in violence that the kids saw and reported back to their mother.
His ex told the courts that Huizar took their two children in 2021 and enrolled them in a school without her permission. She didn't see them for three weeks.
According to her, Huizar suffered from PTSD, major depressive disorder, insomnia, alcohol use disorder and an unspecified personality disorder.
It's unclear if the protection order contributed to the shooting, which took place about two weeks after it was filed.
A 5-year-old and 9-year-old were also left orphaned back in West Richland because of Haizur. According to charging documents for Haizur, the oldest child witnessed his father gunning down his mother outside of Wiley Elementary.
It's unclear where the three surviving children will go.

(Photo of Douglas's dead body after shooting himself)
Douglas de Jesus Vieira was a soldier in the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro (PMERJ), assigned to the 24th Battalion (Queimados), who committed suicide at the age of 28 during a live broadcast on Facebook, conducted at his residence on Rua Jacuí, in Brás de Pina, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, on January 29, 2017. Prior to the act, Douglas had publicly expressed his despair due to delays in the payment of salaries and benefits, such as the Additional Service Regime (RAS) and the State Program for Integration in Security (Proeis), as well as the 13th salary, which had not yet been paid to state public servants at that time.
Three weeks before the incident, Douglas made a post on his Facebook profile, satirizing the critical financial situation he was facing, using the lyrics of a popular funk song. He also had a history of depression and had already been removed from duty four times by the corporation's psychiatry department. On one of these occasions, he was hospitalized for a week at the Central Hospital of the Military Police (HCPM) in Estácio, after attempting suicide by ingesting medication and alcoholic beverages. Despite this, he was cleared to return to work without proper medical follow-up.
On the night of the suicide, Douglas began a live broadcast on Facebook, briefly interacting with viewers. He appeared lying on his bed and made comments such as: "What's up, everything cool? We're together! I want to see who has the guts to watch live stuff. If you can't handle it, get out. Things are about to get crazy now." He then pointed a gun at his head and fired. The camera fell, and the broadcast was interrupted. Douglas's Facebook account, along with the original live video, was removed.
Friends and family reported that Douglas was going through an extremely difficult time, not only due to the salary delays but also because of personal issues, such as an ongoing divorce and the need to work in private security to supplement his income. He was described as a responsible man who deeply cared about his bills and the well-being of his 1-year-and-3-month-old daughter, Luísa. Rayane Cristina dos Santos, his ex-wife, stated that Douglas had called her about 20 minutes before the act, warning her of his intentions, but she did not believe him, as he had made similar threats before.

A Facebook user shared a video of when the man was addressing some onlookers and the moment he jumped into the river.
In the post, the user alleged that the man committed suicide because he was framed for stealing a huge amount of money, which he denied knowledge of.
In text accompanying the video, the user wrote: "He was saying in oyinbo that they framed him that he stole a huge of money which he did not and they said they give him 24 hours to refund the money and he did not steal and for him to eat once in a day is a problem that where did he want to get that kind of money from within 24 hours so he is tired of life and he jumped down the bridge, it happened yesterday night at Idumota bridge in Lagos island. I am tired of this country the man just wasted his life".
The man in one of the videos explained to onlookers that he decided to give up his life because he was frustrated after being accused of stealing money he cannot afford to pay back.
The man lamented that despite going to the Police station to prove his innocence, he was still asked to look for a way to repay the money.
The man was captured to have said, "Where I was living, they accused me of stealing, I told them I am not the one that stole it. I was arrested by the police and I was asked to say my side of the story. Despite that, they still threatened to kill me."
All pleas by onlookers to discourage the man from committing suicide failed, as he dived into the river
