Mumbai: In a most chilling scene of suicide, 24-year-old Arjun Bharadwaj took his life by jumping from his 19th floor room of a posh Bandra hotel, but not before posting videos of his activity prior to the act. Bharadwaj went live on Facebook, informing the world that he was about to end his life. The police have asked TV channels not to telecast the video.

Cool and composed, the Narseemonaji College student was seen sipping wine straight from the bottle. He said he would first drink his favourite wine and eat bacon pasta. All through, Bharadwaj was constantly smoking. Then, he got emotional and admitted that he had lost count of the steps he would take next. He then switched off the link, saying he obviously couldn’t record what he was about to do.

The police later found Bharadwaj lying in a pool of blood below, the glass panes of his room’s window shattered. The cops later learnt that Arjun Bharadwaj is from Bangalore and his father is a businessman from the tech city.

The cops have found a suicide in his hotel room. “I am a drug addict and I don’t want to live anymore,” the note said. After which he is believed to have taken the fatal leap after breaking the glass panes of the window.

Security guards at the hotel heard a loud thud. Rushing to the site, they found the boy lying in a pool of blood. “The security guard informed the management of the hotel. They went on the 19 floor and saw that Bhardwaj had broken the window glass before taking the extreme step,” said a senior officer from Bandra police station.

“Bharadwaj had checked in the wee hours of Monday. No one saw his exit the hotel after that. We indentified the boy from the documents he had submitted during check-in. We have contacted his parents in Bangalore,” the police officer added. The cops took the body to Leelavati Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

November 21, 2008 the live suicide of Malevo Ferreyra

Ferreyra was an Argentine police chief. Being a police officer during the last Argentine Dictatorship, he participated in State terrorism campaigns, repressing left-wing guerrilla groups in Tucuman province. After the return of democracy, he would become the chief of Tucumán Provincial Police. In this position, Ferreyra became involved in the murder of guerrilla members and civilians. He would later be prosecuted and discharged from the force. He shot himself in 2008, when facing his imminent arrest, and his suicide was broadcast live on national TV.

Thousands of passengers come and go at Trichy Central Bus Station every day. In this situation, a 45-year-old man wearing a yellow shirt and a checkered black khali was hanging around for a long time at this bus station on the Thanjavur road yesterday morning.

Later, the investigation conducted by the police revealed that he was from Perambalur district and came to Trichy after saying that he was going to work and took his life by falling under the wheel of a bus. After this, his body has been kept at Trichy Government Hospital for post-mortem.

Why did the person take his own life? Mentally ill? Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the suicide.

Background:

Cerna was stopped by Sheriff's Deputy Michael Parham for a traffic violation on December 19, 2003. He attempted to escape in his car and then later on foot. During the pursuit, he shot Parham twice in the abdomen, but the wound was not fatal. Cerna was arrested shortly afterward. The San Bernardino Police, the County Sheriff's Department, and the California Highway Patrol were all involved in the chase, but during his apprehension, no one ensured he was properly searched.[3][4]

Video surveillance footage showed that Cerna entered the interrogation room and asked head of homicide investigation Officer Bobby Dean for a bottle of water. When Cerna received the water, he started drinking and Dean walked out of the room. Now alone, Cerna reached under his pants and retrieved a .45-caliber handgun that he had concealed. He then put the gun up to his head and shot himself in the left temple.[5] Cerna died on the scene.[1]

The County Sheriff's Department showed the security camera footage to the media the next day. To avoid sensationalism, only a limited number of selected reporters were permitted for viewing. Although the police tried to control access, the footage was leaked.
