It may not necessarily be karma, but at least that little dummy will get a detailed description of the results of his actions. He’ll probably never let someone ride passenger with him while doing dumb shit ever again.

He won't be able to. This dude is set to spend a lot of time inside. Hopeully he will never drive again if he makes it out of prison.

Nah, he's only 16, he won't do any time. You can literally kill multiple people in a wreck as a "juvenile" and get a slap on the wrist.

Shit man, I know that feel. Here in my country minors get away with a lot of shit because of their age.

Yeah... and this happened in New York City, and the driver is black... he won't do any time. He might be placed on probation and required to do community service and take some kind of dumb class.

Despite what you may hear across the world, black folks get treated very nicely by courts in the USA, some would say too nicely. This will be another case of that.

I doubt it. The transferable age for manslaughter is 14 in New York. Not only was it criminally negligent, he’s 16 years old. You make a good point, but I think it can go either way depending on the prosecution and the judge.

I think it depends on the US state you're in entirely. I live in a US state where this is taken very seriously. You'd have to have a good lawyer and no criminal record to even have a chance. I had a couple of buddies locked up in high school for the same kind of shit, they are still serving a prison sentence. It wasn't life, but about 10-20 years. The amount of time they took from their classmates I suppose...
