So according to the Santa Monica Mirror Newspaper, he was rushed immediately to the hospital and had been given first aid on scene as well as on the way to the hospital, but the paper also says the authorities refused to answer any questions by the public regarding whether or not he survived. This leads me to believe he passed at some point while in care and the authorities are simply trying to keep people calm, or save face, or both.
