Goa -A male motorcyclist with the initials AM (52) and his female passenger HA (49) were involved in an accident in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi (Sulsel). The victim HA died on the spot after being run over by a passing truck.
"There was a traffic accident (between) a Hino truck and a Yamaha Mio motorbike on Jalan Poros Malino," said Head of the Gowa Police Traffic Unit's Gakkum Unit, Ipda Heri Siswanto to detikSulsel, Tuesday (1/10/2024).
The incident occurred on Jalan Poros Malino, Buttadidia Environment, Mawang Subdistrict, Somba Opu District, Gowa, at around 07.45 WITA this morning. Heri explained that the incident began when the motorbike ridden by AM was about to overtake the truck ridden by DW (30).
"From the opposite direction from west to east came a motorbike whose identity was unknown so the Yamaha Mio motorbike driver braked and skidded so that the motorbike and the driver fell," explained Heri.
Heri continued, the motorbike and victim AM then fell to the right. Meanwhile, victim HA fell in the opposite direction so that she was run over by the truck that was about to be overtaken.
"HA suffered injuries and died at the scene of the crime (TKP)," he said.
The police have conducted a crime scene investigation. Meanwhile, the victim has been taken to the hospital.

"To authorize a preventive measure in the form of detention for Sergei Vasilyevich Kamaev for a period of two months. The period of detention is calculated from September 2 to November 2, 2024. This decision can be appealed by the participants in the process within three days," announced the decision of the specialized investigative court of Karaganda, judge Erlan Seksenov.
Earlier, the prosecutor, speaking in court, noted that the suspect should be taken into custody. He also reported that the detainee, according to the criminal article under which the investigation was launched, faces a sentence of up to 5 years in prison.
"The actions of the suspect caused serious harm to the health of the victim, who, being in her last month of pregnancy, is now in intensive care. I represent the interests of four victims, therefore I support the prosecutor's motion and believe that a preventive measure in the form of detention should be chosen for the suspect," the lawyer for the victims said during the consideration of the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect.
The suspect's lawyer said during the hearing that at the time of the accident, Sergey Kamayev felt ill and did not remember the circumstances of the incident.
"He has chronic diseases, participated in military operations in Afghanistan, had injuries, constantly takes medications, has repeatedly undergone treatment both in Kazakhstan and abroad. He does not remember anything about the moment of the accident, the car was not under his control," the suspect's lawyer said.
It should be noted that at the trial, Sergey Kamayev apologized to the family of the deceased driver and the victims and asked not to take him into custody.
