A fatal traffic accident happened in the early afternoon of Saturday (02), more specifically at 2:01 pm, at a crossroads near BR-242, right on the border between the São Pedro and Vila dos Funcionários neighborhoods in Barreiras.Information gathered at the scene and security camera footage showed that the motorcyclist, identified as Alex Gomes dos Santos, 24, a native of Barreiras (Ba), was driving along João Cândido de Oliveira Street towards BR, when he was surprised by a truck that was crossing the intersection, being on Alberto Amorim Avenue.
Alex was unable to stop and hit the middle of the truck, which ran over the victim and his motorcycle. The young man died on the spot. SAMU was called, but was only able to confirm his death.

A 20-year-old man was killed in a car crash on Thursday night in Couva.The police identified him as Isaiah Alexander of June Street.
They said at around 11.25 pm on Thursday, Alexander's 16-year-old brother was driving a Nissan Wingroad along Perseverance Road, Couva, when he hit a speed bump and lost control of the car.
It crashed into a utility pole and two nearby houses.
Alexander was in the front passenger seat and died at the scene. DMO Dr Indarsingh viewed and ordered the removal of the body.
Emergency health personnel took the driver to the Couva hospital.
Insp Mungroo, Sgt Haitool, WPC Funrose, and other Central Division police gathered evidence.
There were no reports of any other injuries.
Investigations are ongoing.

A crash at a busy Denver intersection left a disabled man dead. Denver Police report a man crossing an intersection in a wheelchair was struck by a large truck late Thursday morning. The crash is still under investigation, and the name of the victim has not yet been released. Police say the driver of the truck stayed at the scene.

A fatal accident occurred in the morning hours on San Cristobal Boulevard, in front of 16-53 zone 8 of Mixco, reason for which traffic is complicated in the sector.According to Bomberos Municipales, a motorcyclist of approximately 35 years of age died after apparently losing control and crashing into a pole.
The man was left lying on the scene and died immediately due to the polytrauma he suffered.
Authorities of the National Civil Police (PNC) and Municipal Transit Police (PMT) went to the scene to process the accident.
