backstory:

a woman (60) was going to get her grandchildren from school. at some point she encountered a closed road at the railway crossing due to construction works. instead of taking a different route, the woman removed the construction zone fences on one side of the road and kept on driving. after this she encountered another construction fence on the other side of the railway. it is at this point that the video starts.

as the woman wants to remove the second set of fences. the bell for the oncoming train goes off. this strikes fear into the woman. it also doesn't help that the construction worker is telling her that she will be fined for this. this increasing panic puts the woman in a shock like state. the construction worker removes the second set of fences so the woman can pas. (it is believed) when the woman opens the car door, the car puts itself in park brake mode. when she closes the door again and wants to get away she has the instinct to put the car in drive, but the parking brake wont allow the car to move (hence the revving engine). it is moments later that the woman is hit by the train as she is still too shocked to think clearly and get out in time.

the woman survived.

however there exists another video of her removing the first set of fences. this video seems to be removed from the internet. without the first video it would seem like the woman casually drove in to the construction zone. the video used here (the second video) is also the "go to" video that the media uses as it seems to shift the blame to the construction worker for not helping her.

4 teens named Snezhana, Victoria, Evgeny and Maxim were apparently going swimming on the river Samara. For some reason, they all decided to stand on the train tracks on a crossing named "Tolevaya-Kirkombinat". While doing so, they didn't notice the electric train coming towards their way. The train operator tried to stop and honk, but they didn't hear anything. Eventually, the electric train hits the 4 teens. 3 have died while 1 survived with major injuries. They were all 14 years old.

Karachayevsk, Russia

October 25, 2022

On October 25, an accident occurred on the main street of Karachayevsk, as a result of which an eight-year-old girl died, and a seven-year-old boy was taken to the republican hospital with injuries.

"On October 25, at 13:35, the duty station of the Inter-Municipal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Karachayevsky" received a message about an accident with victims in the city of Karachayevsk. Upon departure to the site, it was established that at 53 km 400m of the Cherkessk-Dombai FAD, the driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser car, while driving from the city of Cherkessk towards the village of Dombai, allowed two minors to hit," said a member of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

She noted that as a result of the accident, the girl died in the Central Hospital of the city of Karachayevsk, and the boy with a diagnosis of TBI, concussion of the brain, closed fracture of the humerus with displacement, left clavicle, was sent to the Central Hospital of the city of Cherkessk," L.Gogusheva stressed.

A motorcyclist died from injuries he sustained when he collided into a minibus while performing a stunt on the St Margaret's Bay main road in Portland on Saturday.

A video of the two-vehicle bang-up has gone viral on social media.

The deceased is Rushawn Miller of Black Hill district, Portland.

Police reported that about 3:15 pm on Saturday, Miller was driving the motorcycle when he attempted to do a 'wheelie' and lost control of the unit, which slammed into a white minibus that was being driven in the opposite direction.

Miller was flung from the motorcycle upon impact, and sustained multiple injuries. He died at hospital.

In the viral video that appeared to have been recorded by another motorcyclist, Miller can be seen driving on both sides of the roadway.

He then attempted to drive the motorcycle on one wheel across the median into the opposite side of the roadway, where he was hit by the oncoming minibus.

"No fadda Gad (God), no!" shouted the videographer after the collision occurred.

Miller was seen lying on the side of the road before the video ended.

There have been mixed reactions to the video on social media, with some persons blaming the motorcyclist for causing his own death, while others insisted that the minibus driver should have slowed down.

"I'm praying for him (the motorcyclist) and his family. We all did silly stuff when we were young. It's not the time to play blame game," said a man on Facebook.

"The bus driver could have slowed down when he saw him (the motorcyclist) from afar," a woman suggested.

"Young people do crazy things. Prayers for his family," she added.

Another woman disagreed with that view, arguing that the bus driver should not be blamed.

"He (motorcyclist) was the one who swerved into the bus. Watch the video again," she stated.

MARAN: Another motorcyclist died as a result of an accident while in a convoy to attend the RXZ Fighter Gathering 2024 program in Kuantan, today.

The victim, Mohammad Sharfie Sukri, 21, died after his motorcycle collided with a lorry and was thrown into the middle of the highway.

Maran District Police Chief DSP Mohamad Zamri Mohamad Zaber said the accident happened at about 8.10am at kilometer 156.9 of the East Coast Highway (LPT) Satu, towards Kuantan near Maran.

He said the initial investigation found that when the incident occurred the victim joined a convoy involving 10 motorcycles from Petaling Jaya, Selangor to attend the "RXZ Fighter Gathering 2024 program in Kuantan.

"The accident is believed to have occurred when the motorcycle the victim was riding in the left lane of the highway collided with a lorry also coming from the same direction and as a result of the accident the victim was thrown onto the road and died at the scene," he said in a media statement here today.

He added that this case was investigated in accordance with section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Yesterday, a night market trader in Kuala Kangsar, Perak was killed after the motorcycle he was riding skidded and crashed into a highway barrier at Kilometer 166.6 of the East Coast Highway (LPT) 1 near the Maran exit at about 10.55am.

Police in a Texas border city announced manslaughter charges Monday against a local resident who allegedly plowed his SUV into a crowd at a bus stop killing eight men, including several Venezuelan migrants.

Brownsville Police Chief Felix Sauceda said George Alvarez, 34, ran a red light and lost control of his car in the southern US city, leaving 10 others injured, some of them in critical condition.

Sauceda said authorities were still awaiting a toxicology report on Alvarez, who had a history of run-ins with the law, and had not ruled out any motive for the incident.

"George Alvarez is a Brownsville local with an extensive rap sheet," Sauceda said, displaying a long list of previous charges including assault, burglary and driving while intoxicated.

In addition to the eight counts of manslaughter, Alvarez was charged with 10 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon -- his vehicle.

Sauceda did not provide details on the victims, other than confirming that "several" were migrants from Venezuela.

He said police were in touch with the Venezuelan government and with foreign embassies with regard to the victims.

Victor Maldonado, the executive director of the Ozanam Center, a homeless shelter across the street from the crash, said there was a crowd of about 25 people waiting at a bus stop at the time.

Maldonado said the group included Venezuelans who had just eaten breakfast at the facility.

He described a grisly scene, with body parts strewn along the street.

It was unclear if the crash had been accidental or deliberate.

Witnesses were "really shocked," Maldonado told AFP. "It was pretty intense."

North Bergen, NJ, USA - Dec 09, 2022

The driver of a tractor trailer who crushed a 76-year-old woman crossing Tonnelle Avenue in North Bergen and then drove 22 blocks before stopping may not face charges in the gruesome crash.

J.J. Cortes Garcia, 37, of Texas, told police he “never saw the pedestrian or knew he struck her until an unknown motorist stopped him at 69th Street and informed him,” the crash report for the Dec. 9 incident said.

The victim, whose identity has not been released while authorities search for her next-of-kin, was walking west across the state highway in the crosswalk, with the light, when Garcia made a right turn onto the roadway, a video of the crash posted on Twitter shows.

Cortes Garcia struck the woman with the right front side of the tractor trailer and the vehicles rear wheels crushed her as he continued south on the four-lane state highway also known at Route 1&9. This incident was the fourth death on Tonnelle Avenue this year.

Local safe streets advocates are stunned that Garcia has not been charged, especially since the video of the noontime crash clearly shows the victim in the middle of the crosswalk when Garcia begins his turn from 91st Street.

Cortes Garcia has not been charged criminally or cited with any motor vehicle violations, but the prosecutor's office said the crash investigation is active “to determine if it is criminal in nature.”
