JAKARTA – A video recording from a car CCTV, aka dashcam, shows an accident that occurred on the Lawang Toll Road towards Surabaya, East Java, on Friday (17/1) at around 14.54 WIB.
In the video, you can see the seconds before the accident occurred, when a Toyota Rush SUV skidded and hit the toll road divider until it was crushed.
The accident is thought to have occurred due to slippery roads. Naturally, the video shows that the weather at that time was pouring with rain, which made the roads slippery and the car lost control and hit the road divider.
It didn't stop there, the accident incident got worse after the already crushed car was hit by another vehicle coming from the same direction.
Based on information obtained by Holopis.com , the vehicle that hit the Toyota Rush was a Bagong Bus.
Even though the car was badly damaged, the Rush driver and bus passengers were reportedly still safe from the accident that occurred.
Meanwhile, netizens' responses to the uploaded CCTV video of the car that recorded the accident focused more on the cause of the accident, which was said to be due to aquaplaning.

The crash just after 1 a.m. on May 9, 2023 happened when Trenton Stewart was back in town after his freshman year playing defensive lineman for Stetson University.
Police said Stewart was driving east on Old St. Augustine Road when Monteagudo, who was going the wrong way, slammed his Mercedes head-on into Stewart's Trailblazer.
The arrest report said Monteagudo was speeding above 100-mph in a 45-mph zone, crashed head on into Stewart's SUV. (See above photo)
Stewart's SUV flipped and hit a tree 138 feet from the crash site; Jacksonville Fire and Rescue cut off part of the vehicle to remove Stewart from the wreckage. (Trenton's vehicle is pictured above after the roof was removed with the jaws of life)
Both men were injured from the crash and taken to a hospital. Stewart died in the hospital due to his injuries.

On November 9, 2023, the driver accused of killing an 18-year-old Creekside High School grad in a wrong-way head-on crash in May has been charged with vehicular homicide, jail records show.
Ariel Monteagudo was arrested Monday and is being held on $750,000 bond. Monteagudo, who served 10 years for a vehicular homicide charge in Broward County, now faces face 8 to 12 years in Florida State Prison followed by probation as part of the negotiated guilty plea
On January 17, 2025 Ariel Monteagudo was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by 3 years of community patrol with electronic monitoring, a curfew of 10pm-6am, a mental health evaluation with recommended treatment. His license was permanently revoked.
Monteagudo's had an extensive criminal traffic record. (Pictured above)
Trenton's father told Action Jax that the penalty is woefully insufficient, and that he's frustrated by the law's limitations.
"The fact that we're sitting in a situation where we know this person has killed multiple people, and the maximum prison sentence is 15 years, is a huge disconnect for me," Robert Stewart told the station.
According to the Florida Department of Corrections, he has five additional prior convictions and has served prison time for them.
Stewart's mother, Mandi Stewart, told News4JAX just after the crash that her son was just 2 miles away from home when he was killed.
As word of his tragic death spread, Stewart was remembered as a disciplined and determined natural leader with a promising life in front of him. He was majoring in cybersecurity and made the Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll after his freshman season.
"Trenton, first and foremost, was the absolute most incredible kid you could ever imagine," Mandi Stewart said.
Trenton's parents gave out a scholarship a couple of months ago to a student at Stetson University, and that day, the team ran out onto the field carrying Trenton's jersey -- an emotional tribute that touched his mother's heart.
