Another theory is Dianna was killed in a case of mistaken identity as the two looked alike .

The case against George was largely circumstantial, centered around the discovery of a single firearms cartridge in his home and his history of mental illness and obsession with celebrities. After a highly publicized trial, George was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.

However, the conviction was not without controversy. Many observers felt that the evidence against George was weak, and in 2008, after serving eight years behind bars, he was finally exonerated and released. The true killer of Jill Dando has never been identified, leaving the case one of the most high-profile unsolved murders in British history.
