Tragedy on Rua da Torre: Woman Dies After Being Hit by Truck
A tragic traffic accident that occurred late in the afternoon of today, the 18th, occurred on Rua da Torre, close to the old bus station. The victim, identified as Marlian, was fatally run over by a truck after an alleged push by his ex-partner.
According to witnesses who witnessed the incident, Marlian and her ex-partner were arguing on Rua da Torre when she was pushed onto the road by her ex-partner. At the exact moment, a truck was traveling down the street and, without time to brake, it passed over the victim's head. Marlian died instantly from the impact.
The place, which is quite busy, quickly filled with onlookers and people shocked by the brutality of the accident. The Military Police were called and isolated the area to carry out the necessary procedures.
Marlian's ex-partner was immediately arrested and taken to the police station to give a statement.

Two young women, identified as Karoliny R.A. and Ana E.N., died in an accident on Friday night (17), in the Sepetiba neighborhood, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
The victims were riding a motorcycle without helmets when they crashed into a bus that was making a left turn.
One of the victims, who was riding the motorcycle, died at the scene of the accident.

BALIKPAPAN - A traffic accident involving two four-wheeled vehicles occurred in the area of Jalan Soekarno Hatta on the Balikpapan-Samarinda axis (Bukit Soeharto) on Thursday (5/16) at around 2:45 pm.From the video footage circulating, the accident was caused by a white Grand Max car that drove off the road. Then from the opposite direction, a Pick Up car also drove and the collision was inevitable.
Police officers from the Bukit Soeharto area had shared video footage stating that both vehicle drivers were taken to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, the driver of the Pick Up car died.
"Info-info, does anyone know this car? The plate is KT 8178 MA. The driver died in an accident. Please help," he said.
Until now, the police are still waiting for the families of the accident victims. Meanwhile, the driver of the Grand Max with license plate DD 1828 SV was only seriously injured.
"The Grand Max driver did not die, but his hand was broken. Both have been taken to the hospital," he explained.
From Mediakaltim's investigation, the Pick Up car came from Balikpapan to Samarinda. On the other hand, the Grand Max car was traveling from Samarinda to Balikpapan. But unfortunately, this deadly accident occurred in the Kilometer 75 area.
"That Pick Up, the driver is my brother's friend, Min. He was going home to Samarinda. That's my brother's friend's car," said one of the social media accounts @kopidipagihari.
Another social media account, @hadiadi, said that at the time of the incident he and his colleague saw that the Pick Up driver was not moving in his vehicle.
"This was earlier. I saw for a while that the Pick Up driver had died after the accident. The Grand Max was still screaming," he said.
So far, this traffic accident case is still being investigated by the police.

Two men were travelling in VAZ 2107 in heavy rain on route Krasnodar - Kropotkin.
Near Ust-Labinsk the car driver lost control, skid to the oncoming lane and crashed into Mercedes truck.
Either driver or passenger were ejected from the vehicle (it was not specified).
Car driver died on spot. His passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Truck driver was not injured.

At about 11 p.m. on May 16, Mr. Pham Xuan M (born 1989, residing in Huong Vinh commune, Huong Khe, Ha Tinh province) drove a motorbike with registration number 38H4-8801 on Phan Dinh Phung street towards the shore of Binh Son lake. It's worth noting that the car, in which the Ahmedabad family was traveling, had the Government of Gujarat's board affixed to its front and a doctor's symbol on its rear window. In the aftermath of the accident, the elderly person's body, who lost his life, was taken to a government hospital for postmortem.
