While sharpening my karambit I wasn't paying attention and was going a little to fast and ended slicing in about a quarter inch deep.

The radial artery goes through the anatomical snuffbox, covered only by skin in this area, so it is easy to feel its pulse.

I was trying to eat an avocado and while attempting to remove the pit, the knife I was using slipped and went through the avocado, and through a part of my hand.

The doctors had a hard time believing me and one of them thought I was pretty stupid (I agree but still), and they had a harder time believing it didn't hurt much.

After soaking for a few minutes in water and iodine. Stung like shit when I first put it in then stopped hurting all together after a few minutes.

I had to go to the bathroom after sitting there with my hand in the iodine bath for over an hour and instead of one of the nurses wrapping it up so I could go, one of them just took my hand out and tossed a rag to me and then said nothing, so I just had to sit there bleeding everywhere.

A different nurse wrapped it for me after 15-30 minutes so I could go, then I waited another 30 minutes to get it stitched. I look like a burn victim with the way they wrapped it.

They cleaned it again with iodine and saline before finally stitching it.

I just wanted to eat a fucking avocado, this shit hurts like hell now. I was in the hospital for almost four hours. I have to keep the wrapping on for two days and I have to leave the stitches in for two weeks. Luckily the nurses doing the stitches said I can have anyone I know who is a certified nurse take them out for me at home, and I know at least four people who are, including my mom and roommate, so after the two weeks are over I can get the stitches out without having to go back to the hospital.

Screw to the eye.

An accident of a 3 year old boy with a screw penetrating his left eye after lawnmower spits out bolt!!

His dad was using the petrol-powered tool which was slung over his shoulder when the accident happened.

As he mowed the grass, the blade struck a one-inch long metal screw hidden in the lawn.

The piece of metal flicked into the air and flew straight into the toddler's eyeball.

Doctors found that miraculously the screw missed the cornea and retina. X-rays also reveal just how deep the piece of metal became lodged into his eye socket - almost reaching the skull.

Doctors performed successful surgery to remove the screw.

The ophthalmologist that did the operation said that they will check the wound over the coming days but they are confident the boy will be able to see again.

He said: "Fortunately, the screw struck his eyeball but did not go into the lens, which thankfully has spared his sight.

"However, due to the accident his eye bled badly and now is still bloodshot so there will be follow up treatment to help the boy see again.

"We're pleased with the outcome of the surgery. If the screw had been slightly to the left he would have been blinded."
