The reserve corporal of the Ceará Military Police, identified as José Hélio Ribeiro, aged 69, died this Tuesday (21), after being shot during a robbery in the Conjunto Ceará neighborhood, in Fortaleza. No suspects were arrested as of early Wednesday morning (22). Security cameras caught the crime.

In the images, it is possible to see the victim sitting in a chair on the sidewalk, in front of a store, on Av. D, when he is approached by a pedestrian, who allegedly tries to take the gun that the elderly man was carrying at the time, but he reacts.

Then, a second suspect approaches, on board a motorcycle, and helps his accomplice. The three engage in a physical fight, but the first man appears to be able to disarm the former security officer and shoot him, who falls to the ground. The two criminals escape in the vehicle.

José Hélio was taken to a health unit in the region, but he succumbed to his injuries and died.

On social media, the establishment where the victim was sitting in front published a note lamenting the murder. Preliminary information indicates that it was the custom of the reserve corporal to visit the site.

The Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (SSPDS) reported that the Military Police were called to the crime of robbery followed by death, in the Conjunto Ceará neighborhood. According to the Ministry, no suspect has been arrested so far, and the case remains ongoing.

The soldier joined the Military Police of Ceará in December 1975. He was currently in the Remunerated Reserve (RR). In the note, the SSPDS highlighted that it deeply regrets the death and that it sympathizes with the pain of family and friends, "while making the institution's apparatus available".

Man shoots a father and son over an argument about loud music.

A liquor businessman, S.M., was shot outside a roadside restaurant, or 'dhaba', in Sonipat, Haryana state. It is believed the shooters fired over 35 rounds of bullets.

Reportedly, S. had recently been arrested for murder and attempted murder, and had recently been released on bail. He was formerly a sharpshooter in the gang of Neetu Dabodia.

Claiming responsibility for the attack was Himanshu Bhau, a gangster whom Interpol issued a red notice last year. He is believed to be residing in Portugal. Police, however, dismissed speculation that S.'s murder took place due to a gang war.

Two shot dead in Sangre Grande, Venezuelan woman wounded

A shooting at a popular club in Sangre Grande on Saturday morning claimed the lives of two persons while two others were shot. A female Venezuelan national was wounded.

Reports reveal around 3 am, the three persons were at a club 69 on the Eastern Main Road Guaico, Sangre Grande when the shooting took place.

Shot and killed were Ricky Roopnarine and Kendall Hodge.

Police officers attached to Sangre Grande Police and Homicide Officers Region 2 visited the scene.
