CARROLL — An Illinois man who sped away from a western Iowa traffic stop in 2021 with an officer on top of his car claims the officer was partly at fault for the incident for pointing a gun at him and stepping onto the hood of the vehicle.
The officer suffered a broken back when he was flung from the car.
Dennis James Guider Jr., 29, of Chicago Heights, pleaded guilty to serious injury by vehicle, a felony, and was recently sentenced to up to five years in prison. A felony eluding charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

A homeless man with a history of mental illness and criminal convictions killed a New Mexico cop — seconds before he was gunned down by a witness, police said Tuesday.
Las Cruces Officer Jonah Hernandez, 35, was responding to a trespassing call at a business around 5 p.m. Sunday when he was pounced on by repeat offender Armando Silva.
When he arrived, Armando Silva immediately attacked him with a large kitchen knife,” Police Chief Jeremy Story said at a press conference.
“For no reason whatsoever, Silva killed Officer Hernandez.”
Silva, 29, then turned his ire on a bystander who had grabbed a firearm from their car after witnessing the “unprovoked attack,” Story said.
The witness fired at least one gunshot, killing Silva.
They then used Hernandez's radio to call for help. The cop was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Hernandez's death marks the first of an officer in the line of duty for the Las Cruces Police Department.
The homeless man's criminal history included a 2015 conviction for kidnapping and aggravated battery with great bodily harm against a household member, which resulted in a prison sentence. Silva violated his probation multiple times and was sent back to prison in the following years, Story said.
Hernandez was a two-year veteran of the Las Cruces police force, having graduated from the academy in June 2022 with the department's largest graduating class.
Police do not plan to recommend charges against the witness, who has not been identified, for gunning down Silva.

Guy who was getting punched is called Hernandez. According to witnesses, the guy was just cleaning his car when police jumped him. In response, the deputies of LASD said that they saw him conceiling something by his waist while walking. Due to him resisting arrest, they tackled him and found he had a gun. So far, Hernandez is in jail and no bail is set. (Btw, Hernandez has a criminal record.)

Atlanta, Georgia — On May 18, 2022, Atlanta Police Officers were called to the Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse on the 3100 block of Piedmont Road after a 911 caller reported an unruly man armed with a gun. Officers arrived at the restaurant about 26 minutes later and found 22-year-old Nygil Cullins, sitting at the bar.
Cullins was reportedly a former employee of the business. Officers attempted to escort him out. Cullins was not cooperative and the encounter escalated to a physical altercation. An officer deployed his taser. However, the taser was not effective.
Cullins began heading toward the door of the business when he was tackled by a security guard. At that point, Cullins produced his gun and fired one round, striking the security guard. At least one of our officers then discharged their weapon, fatally striking Cullins.
The security guard was taken the the hospital in stable condition. No one else was physically injured during the incident. A federal lawsuit filed by Cullins family, stated that Cullins suffered such pain from the Taser that he tried to leave but was tackled by a security guard.
The family claims that the restaurant's security guard falsely portrayed Cullins as a physical threat, which led to the shooting. They are alleging inappropriate use of deadly force, negligence, and civil rights violations. They are suing the police officers who killed him, the city, the restaurant, the security guard, and the company the guard worked for.

Guy had argument with suspect. Suspect ran, the police chased him and got him down. There's no news (from what I could find) if anyone was charged with a crime.
Also that guy was defo resisting, you can see him trying to stand up while getting handcuffed.
