There is a "Big Three" when it comes to shark attacks and those 3 are great whites, bull sharks, and tiger sharks. Due to them being such large species, they're capable of inflicting serious injuries to a victim, and are commonly found in areas where humans enter the water, and have teeth designed to shear rather than hold. The great white shark stands at the highest amount of shark attacks provoked on humans currently racking up around 354 unprovoked shark attack on human and boats

A shark attack occurred on Thursday 29th December in the east of Mauritius, near Flamingo Island. M.A.J.L., a 39-year-old Mauritian fisherman, was mauled by a shark, and only part of his body was recovered.

The pirogue that M. and four other fishermen were on capsized during the night. The other four managed to swim back to shore

Sharks often don't intend to eat humans, but they will if provoked or confused..sharks are very curious creatures and don't have the greatest eyesight which makes it hard for them to decipher certain figures from another..for example if you're laying on a surfboard with your arms or legs in the water, it may confuse the shark by it thinking you're it's typical prey, seals and such..this isn't tye only reason they may attack, they may simply want to know what you taste like :marseyslurpfast:

While rare, shark attacks do happen..if you're unfortunate enough to experience it you now know what to expect..i hope you enjoyed

if any of these are NOT shark attacks feel free to let me know, sometimes it's hard to tell.

Someone once told me that people are more than likely to be struck by lightning, than to be bitten by a shark.... Then why have i seen waaaay more shark attack videos then lightning strike videos. Definitely don't believe what i was told lol 😂

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

LOLL, well the odds of a shark attack are 1 in 3.7 million meanwhile the odds of a lightening strike is 1 in 15.3k so the statistic is correct

but the reason you see way more shark attacks than lightning strikes is because of how fast they happen. you have to either have security cameras pointing at it or someone pre recording.. meanwhile shark attacks are generally recorded on the coast where people are able to record pretty easily

That's actually a really good point, i didn't really think into it like that 🤔 lol

Wow ! That was great ! I personally wouldn't mind more.

But why do the sharks leave the best parts on the body ??

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

they don't really prefer humans it's usually a bite then go , hit and run lol, but yeah i think they just go for what they see first and generally let go after a chomp or two if they don't like what they tasted

Jump in the discussion.

I love the contrast of reading the odds of a fatal shark attack are 1 in almost 4 million then the first thing I see in the videos is a most definitely fatal shark attack

LOL RIGHT

Why tf would someone not wear anti-shark chainmail when getting in a tank to interact in a semi-violent way with big angry sharks

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

what are you on about? you do realize sharks can be in shallow waters? if you watched the videos you'd see that.

i can't rlly tell if it's a joke based off the chainmail but if you're not, you'll be pretty disappointed they have insane bite forced. it may help a bit but you're pretty protected by the cage and if you respect their waters and don't get overconfident you're more likely to be fine, now some sharks like the great white can be more violent than others and im assuming if they're feeling either, threatened, territorial, intimidated, or curious this could provoke an attempt at a cage to get bit up a bit..but honestly you also have to know shark behavior signs and they're generally pretty peaceful creatures but just don't fuck around and find out ya know also make sure to have signal cues to people on the boat to reel you back up incase things are getting more intense than needed...though some people will do anything for some clicks

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

... lmao tf are YOU on about? I'm talking about the shark stabber in the "clear video" clip. Getting an arm crushed through chainmail would be a much better outcome than an actual bite wound.

that's very true it would be better and i acknowledgd that.. thought you were talking about cage divers lol

Good effortpost, the stats that only 1 in 3,7 million shark attacks being fatal sounds really unrealistic. I can't imagine there being 3,7 million shark attacks in total and let alone only 1 dying if so

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

you can look it up if you don't believe me 🙃

shark attacks are VERY rare

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I know they are rare but for every shark attack death there would have to be 3,7 non fatal attacks for the statistic to make sense

got my info from here

also i don't think that's how it works.. pretty sure it means 1 person out of 3.7million has the chance of a fatal attack.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Okay the post was written a little misleadingly. I understand now, i for some reason thought that one in every 3,7 million shark attacks were fatal but its just 1 in 3,7 million chance that one will occur
