I once watched this bull torture live. The bulls are kept in dark rooms with no food or water for days, draining them of energy and when they come out into the arena they are confused as fuck Then the matador sticks these little things with barbs in the bull to weaken it, driving them more in every move the bull makes, until the final coup de grace which is a sword through the back into the heart i suppose.
