Handcuffed woman who lost two front teeth after being Body Slammed by cop in a hospital after she insulted his wife sues for $500,000
The incident occurred in 2013 but was not widely reported until July 2015, when the Colorado Springs Independent newspaper posted surveillance video of the confrontation on its website. Alexis Acker filed a claim with the city in May saying she suffered injuries to her face, head, teeth and jaw - and continues to suffer from PTSD, migraines and cognitive difficulties.
Acker, then 18, had been arrested on charges of interfering with officers who were arresting her boyfriend. She was taken to a hospital but it was unclear why. According to the Daily Beast, William claims Acker yelled: ‘I hope you and your wife can never have any children… because you're a stupid f***ing cop'. In a police report, cop Tyler Walker said Acker kicked him in the groin.
Defense attorney Cindy Hyatt disputed that, saying Acker kicked something Walker was holding, possibly a computer.' There's no way she kicked him that hard in the balls,' Hyatt told the Colorado Springs Independent. ‘He wouldn't be standing. He'd be hunched over'.
Acker pleaded guilty to misdemeanor obstruction of a police officer, and in return prosecutors dropped two felony counts of second-degree assault on an officer, Hyatt said. Acker also received a deferred sentence on a menacing charge. If she stays out of trouble for three years, that charge is erased, Hyatt said.
I looked up whether he was punished but all I found was: “Authorities say discipline was imposed, but police declined to elaborate”.

Surveillance cameras at a county jail in San Bernardino County captured an inmate armed with a homemade metal knife launching out of a cell and attempting to stab a deputy.
The violence unfolded at around 2:45 p.m. on June 11 at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The inmate, 25-year-old Christopher Lommie Jackson, who has been in custody since 2019 on numerous violent charges, including the alleged murder of 51-year-old Subhi Baghdadi, 51, of Anaheim, had attempted to stab another inmate, prompting a response from jail-assigned deputies.
That's when footage shows Jackson, shiv in hand, fly out of a cell, make contact with a deputy and take him to the ground, where a vicious struggle ensued.
Other responding deputies are seen immediately intervening, and authorities say the 25-year-old inmate was eventually subdued.
Sheriff's officials did not identify the 45-year-old deputy, but said he suffered moderate injuries to his face and was treated and released from a local hospital.
It's unclear if the 28-year-old inmate attacked by Jackson prior to the assault on the deputy was injured.
Authorities say these types of violent attacks on deputies at correctional facilities present a significant danger to county employees working in the jails.
For the attack on the 45-year-old deputy, attempted murder charges against Jackson have been filed with the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office.
