On June 2, 2024, at the Rades Stadium in Tunisia, violent incidents occurred between fans of the Tunisian Club Africain and the police during their match against rivals Esperance Sportive de Tunis. As a result of these events, 60 police officers were sent to intensive care along with an unspecified number of fans. The damages were estimated at $34,000, with no fatalities reported.

Officer Rick Gandee pursues a suspected drunk driver through narrow residential streets. When the suspect suddenly stops and bails out on foot, Officer Gandee briefly manages to wrestle the man to the ground. In the rush to make the arrest, the officer forgets to put his car on park.
The car begins to roll forward, and as the suspect manages to break free, the officer is run over by his own squad car. Officer Gandee sustains 5 broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a deep gash on his right arm, but survives and makes a full recovery.
