I hate this video so much. It's just.. Eerie. How she's just all by herself as it gets darker and darker.. Fuck that man.

All she needed was one friend. Be that friend for someone else people and keep a close eye on your loved ones regardless of whether they seem fine.

This is gonna be such a weird comment I'm not sure anyone is ever gonna read it. I'm sure this isn't the place to say this but this has broken me. This beautiful little girl with her whole life ahead of her, putting on make up and recording, probably wishing someone would come and save her, and it just got dark and silent. Often in life I have wanted to take my own life, and then when things get better I always wonder how I could have ever wanted to not live. I'm so sad she never got to feel this. Life is so beautiful with all its pain and struggle. I feel so heartbroken over this beautiful girl, I hope there's a heaven and I hope someone got to tell her how pretty and lovely she truly is

Her name was Katelyn Nicole Davis, & she was barely 12 years old. Please try & remember her name; it's the least we can do - being alive, & witnessing her death in perpetuity, on the internet…

It's hard not to feel like this poor girl has been reduced to a cautionary tale for bullying & CSA. Katelyn went through a lot in her little life — & for ME, personally… the worst part / vibe I get from her in this video, is that she's hesitant. 🥺 I'm not even sure she really KNEW / could fully comprehend the consequences of this action; half of me reallyyy feels like she thought someone was gonna come save her, like the whole thing was a massive cry for help… & Something in me truly feels like she didn't know it would play out like this. At 12 years old, the finality of death is extremely hard to wrap your head around… When I was a kid, I think I always assumed someone would be there to save me. I was blessed with incredible parents … but this little girl wasn't so lucky 😞

She was an attentive & loving sister to her younger siblings, a loyal friend to the few she could trust, & a terribly abused & forsaken daughter; the people meant to love & protect her caused her irreparable harm, & there is a special place in Hell waiting just for them. I hope this girl is resting easy, wherever she is.

(& as an avid gore-watcher / supporter, this is one video I wouldn't mind getting scrubbed off the internet, entirely … but maybe that's my bias speaking)

Truly heartbreaking. Imagine being 11 and committing suicide. I truly hope she is resting well, she had a long life ahead of her and she decided to give it up. Truly one of the only suicides that made me sad

The fact that in the end it slowly becomes darker and darker makes it feel even more eerie

Katelyn, known online as Dolly, was a beautiful young girl who took her own life. She was a student at Cedartown Middle School and had two small siblings that she loved very much. She was a shining light of love and KiNDness.

∼Katelyn Nicole Davis (February 20, 2004 – December 30, 2016), known online by the username ITZ Dolly, was a 12-year-old American girl who committed suicide. She hanged herself from a tree in her backyard while live streaming the event to the application Live.me. The video was shared virally on the various websites, including social media and seen by millions of people.The resulting publicity brought an outpouring of online support and attention to the issues of youth suicide causes and prevention, child abuse and bullying, free speech and its limitations, and safeguards on social media.

Katelyn Nicole Davis was an active blogger on multiple social media sites and recorded dozens of videos in the last month of her life. The videos detailed insight upon the experiences in her life, leading up to the day of her death. In various videos, she sings, shares spiritual philosophy, or takes care of her two younger siblings. Davis also said that she had been bullied at school and that she had been a victim of catfishing by someone pretending to be of the opposite sex online.

In other videos, she argues with her mother, breaks down emotionally, and alleges criminal activity. More seriously, she claimed being neglected, claimed physical and sexual abuse, and that she was encouraged to kill herself. The allegations of abuse caused the Polk County Police to open an investigation.

Davis considered herself to be emo and struggled with depression. She had previous suicide attempts, most recently through medication overdose, for which she was hospitalized. She also engaged in self-harm, cutting her wrists and thighs, just a few days before her death.She also sought to help others overcome problems with both self-harm and depression.

i struggle to imagine the kind of hell she went through to convince her suicide was the only way out. it's horrible watching a kid with so much potential do something like this, if ur thinking of killing yourself please dont do it bros.

This video is so surreal and sad, reading up on her case and watching some of her videos before the suicide happened made me tear up a little. This video makes me feel a certain way i can not describe, the way it goes slowly dark and she just hangs there and no one is coming to the rescue. She was probably found the next morning. She is also so young and would have been 19 today (she was 12 in the video, she told she was 13 to people online). Watching this makes me feel like we have lost something here. Same as with the case of rorochan who commited suicide by falling live in 2013.

Poor girl to be so young and destitute. Too bad nobody saw the signs and tried to help her. Hope she found her peace

If there's ANY good from this, it seemed like it was quick at least. If I ever choose to go out by hanging, I hope it's as smooth and quick as this. Sometimes it seems really botched and they kick and swing for a while.
