I hate those elevators. I had to use one in an old hotel I worked in. Was terrified of the fucker.

If it's in a third world country, maybe they could anly afford the cheap and unsafe stuff- or the builder could afford the good stuff, but pocketed the rest by buying cheap

From what i remember, it was fairly safe for the most part and had sensors between the door and gate to detect if a person was there, but the sensor didnt account for children or small people or something along those lines. I could be wrong, it was a while ago.

These elevators are mostly used in apartments esp in building that has maybe just 4-5 floors here in the city I live where this incident occurred. They're fine as a cheaper version compared with standard elevators. This was one of those moments of kid being kid.

I had my pinky finger cut into 2 when I was 4-5 years old while playing when another kid closed the door on me while my finger was in between the hinges 🤣

Yep! Can't recall exactly when but I remember getting this info & video. but definitely before Covid struck in India in March or 2020. I'm guessing 2019 or early 2020.

Do you remember what happened after the accident?

Naa man. I didn't follow up since noone covered it & it was pushed as an accidental death. It was also a small apartment meaning media wouldn't cover it much. If it was something like Prestige Group or Salarpuria Sattva or any other well known builders in the country then it'd have had a wider coverage.

It’s sad that some deaths are considered more important than others. A little kid from a poor neighborhood doesn’t matter in any country :(
