after you fucking shoot your close one in the head, I don't think the first thought she had was "am I going to prison"? she definitely killed herself afterwards because of the guilt. I've had a friend's dad tell me, that when he was in the military, something similar to his happened, and the first instinct of the guy was to kill himself, but as he was in a crowded place, he was fastly stopped

She wouldn't even have gotten life in prison. She would have gone to juvenile in a case like this. It was beyond stupid and an obvious danger but it looked like she didn't intend for it to fire. She probably thought a safety was on. She would have likely done time but I doubt it would have been life. The parents might have gotten more time than her assuming it was their gun. I have no idea about other details of the case.
