When I was in college there was a kid who had a bootleg TI-84 that saved cheatsheets even when the RAM was cleared. They were stored in a ROM file that normal Ti-84s don't have. So in certain classes he would show the “RAM CLEARED” screen to the instructor and then have a cheat sheet. For good measure he got himself registered for ADHD with disability services so he could take the test at a testing center instead of in a classroom/lecture hall where a professor might catch a glimpse of the screen.
It didn't actually make that much of a difference because in most classes the tests were either open note, or only basic scientific calculators were allowed. But it made a couple of bad weed-out classes much easier and allowed him to have a 4.0 GPA while still having a social life.
