Five of the seven injured riders were critical. Sadly, one more person died the following year, an 18 year old female rider who suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a sort of assisted living facility at the time of her death. According to an article, the woman died of liver failure. Not directly caused by the accident, but due to the combination of her brain injury and the facility, those types of infections are more common and are more dangerous.
