These ones always make me kinda sad - Just a guy doing his job to survive and in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It's possible he was tryna hit another button and hit the one to start it instead. It looks like he's trying to start something else to the left of the frame and may have hit the button to start the part he was standing on. Bad place to be standing regardless.
