i do not, aside from the fact that family suicides are rather common in India.

Wouldn't say family suicide/mass suicides are common here but suicides definitely are. People from all age bracket commit suicide here & that tells you about the social pressure they put upon since a very young age which begins from academics & then goes onto jobs/careers/marriage etc etc. People care about what others think/say alot here & that relates to everything in life.

the only reason i say family suicides are "common" is because i've seen 10s maybe 100s of videos of what i mentioned above.
i know that's not many in comparison to the population of India, but the sheer amount of videos depicting what i said above is shocking.
so, with all of that i've begun to think they must commit suicide a little differently in India, but insight from someone whom actually lives in India helps much more, thanks.

suicides in general in india are common, there are over 1 million yearly suicides and that number has been steadily increasing since 2019.
https://pomf2.lain.la/f/q2d1zau.pdf government spreadsheet on suicides in India from 2019.
but for some reason, people tend to take their families with them in India, there are tons of videos on the internet depicting Indian people coming home to find that their s/o had killed themselves and their children.

I used the read the times of India here and there for just how wild some of the stories are. I read two separate stories about entire families that killed themselves by walking off cliffs. One was a family of 11. Indian lemmings.

It's very unfortunate. I remember watching the docuseries on that one family (burari i believe?) who all killed themselves over the manipulation of the son, sad but also interesting.
