A car accident killed a woman and left four people injured at Aterro do Flamengo, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, in the late morning of this Saturday (19).
The car with five people in it crashed into a tree. M.A., 23, who was traveling in the passenger seat, died on the spot.
According to the Fire Department, L.M., 26, M.C., 25, L.G., 24, and N., 22, were injured and were taken to hospitals in the region. The health condition of the four are stable

I wonder if the people in the back were wearing seatbelts. It seems odd the front passenger was the only one to die, and there’s someone in the car behind her with a bloody face.
It reminds me of that road safety ad in the UK where the mother dies in a relatively low speed crash because her son wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and essentially crushed her when he was flung forward.
