“On October 1, 2017, Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old man from Mesquite, Nevada, opened fire on the crowd attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. From his 32nd-floor suites in the Mandalay Bay hotel, he fired more than 1,000 bullets, killing 60 people and wounding 411. The ensuing panic brought the total number of injured to 867. About an hour later, he was found dead in his room from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
Police speculate Paddock acted alone and have not determined a motive.

People seem to forget that the US citizens being armed has stopped attacks/invasions during wartime and an immeasurable amount of other attacks. You don't have to go back to WWII Japan to highlight the reason, importance, and practical applications of the 2A while silencing the "what will your AR do against military firepower" narrative. I am old enough to remember when the US scrambled and the anti-gunners cheered as Ukrainian citizens were handed busted ass second hand rifles out of a truck bed to defend themselves from the military firepower of Russia...
