“On October 1, 2017, Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old man from Mesquite, Nevada, opened fire on the crowd attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. From his 32nd-floor suites in the Mandalay Bay hotel, he fired more than 1,000 bullets, killing 60 people and wounding 411. The ensuing panic brought the total number of injured to 867. About an hour later, he was found dead in his room from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
Police speculate Paddock acted alone and have not determined a motive.

Bullets are kinda hard to spot at 2500ft/s in the dark. He didn't use tracers. Why would sources even say that? It's not hard to guess where they came from when you find an arsenal of freshly used weapons and a whole in the window plus people with bullet holes all pointing to that hotel.

He was so far away and at such a height that was it extremely difficult to pinpoint his location. The gunshots were also echoeing leading people to report to the police presence of multiple shooters in multiple hotels throughout the area. His location was only determined because he unintentionally left a secure door open in his room, and the door ajar alarm alerted security at Mandalay Bay.
