24-year-old Ukrainian Anastasia Niklas before and after she burned herself alive near the Roman Catholic Cathedral of God the Merciful Father in the summer of 2020.
The story is a little murky, because initially there was a version that the girl wanted to convert to the Catholic faith, but her Orthodox parents forbade her.
It sounds quite crazy, so the version of the parents themselves looks much more plausible - problems in their personal lives and a broken heart.
According to them, one guy left Anastasia for her friend, another betrayed her, and with the third (a Catholic, by the way), the relationship reached a dead end.
