Can't stand how fucking sanitized everything is when it comes to war. Everyone from the news channels to history textbooks loves to talk a big game about wars but you never see a picture of a dismembered soldier or an eviscerated child. You never see Russians getting their intestines blown out by FPV drones on Fox News. I bet if regular people were shown what war actually looks like instead of just hearing "shooty shooty bad guys fall down," a lot fewer people would join the military or vote to go to war. Then again, that's probably the real reason why it's all sanitized for mass consumption.

There's a trend on TikTok that's been making teens WANT to go to war. So many teenage boys have been wanting Putin to start war on America. It's genuinely concerning. If they saw these, all their war boners would go down

Exactly, you said it well right there. Why would the politicians and educators teach us any different? People would actually not be pawns in their wars. It would be a catastrophe for the elite.

Why the US didn't just drop nukes like they to Japan and end the war in 30 minutes still eludes me. Oh, humanitarian rules of war. Well, if you're accused of it by the rest of the world, might as well do it. Even now. Do it.

Because the Soviet Union was allied with Vietnam. If they dropped the bomb, the Soviets would have retaliated meaning more people could have died and the war would drag on longer.
It wasn't worth that risk.
Most people don't realize how complex things and people really are. That everything affects everything.

I don't think the Soviets would've risked everything over this country. They let the US invade. If they had any interest, they'd have already stepped in. Wasn't worth it to them. Bigger fish to fry in the world.

That's why it's called a proxy war. But, yes the USSR would have absolutely responded to US use of nukes with a full attack. My dad (long gone) was going to be one of the first involved if it came to this and he was shitting bricks from '67 to '72.
