Suspected of being a victim of mutilation, a body was found on the side of Jalan Raya Cibalong, Garut.

Garut - An unidentified corpse, cut and mutilated, was found on the side of the Cibalong highway in Garut, West Java, on Sunday (30/6/2024) afternoon.

Residents found their legs and arms wrapped in sacks. Meanwhile, parts of the victim's body were still lying on the side of the road. The police are currently investigating the crime scene (TKP), including asking for information from a number of witnesses.

The body of the murder victim lay on the side of the Cibalong highway, precisely in Bantar Limus Village, Sancang Village, Cibalong District, Garut.

Local residents found the unidentified body already mutilated, with the hands and feet wrapped in sacks, and the body parts still lying on the side of the road.

Residents gathered to see the condition of the body, no one recognized the victim. Police from the Cibalong Police are currently conducting a crime scene investigation at the location where the body was found. A police line has also been installed, so that Inafis officers from the Garut Police are on their way to find the mutilated body.

"When you saw that the body parts were separated from the legs and arms, it looked like they had been put in a sack," said Nana, a local resident, Sunday (30/6/2024).

The police did not want to provide details regarding the chronology of the discovery of this mutilation victim. "The Garut Police are currently at the crime scene for the temporary investigation process, members are still at the crime scene," said Ipda Adi Susilo, Head of Public Relations for the Garut Police.

The Cibalong area is an area quite far from the city center, so it takes quite a long time for officers from the Garut Police to travel. The reason is that this area can only be accessed by land with a 4 hour travel time. So the Garut Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still heading to the location.
