Monster High Girl Shot Dead on the Street

Rua Quixadá, Planalto Ayrton Senna, Fortaleza

18 yar old girl (name not disclosed by the authorities) was murdered on the public street on Thursday evening. According to witnesses, she was walking on the sidewalk when a motorcycle with two riders pulled up alongside her. The passenger on the back fired several pistol shots from a distance of a few feet. She took a grazing shot to the calf and two shots to the chest. The motorcycle sped off and she fell to the ground. Scene reports included testimony that she was not instantly killed, but agonized on the ground for several minutes, trying to breathe as blood ran from her nose and mouth. It is likely that at least one of the chest injuries caused her to aspirate blood.

No one on the scene was able (or willing?) to provide any sort of life saving measures and she was pronounced dead when the ambulance arrived a bit later.

The murder was not solved and no motive was ever presented to the public. There were more than 70 women confirmed murdered in Fortaleza in the first four months of that year. 15 of them were under the age of 20. RMF authorities issued a report stating that the majority of the deaths were a result of gang faction war over territory or drugs.

Note: The top attached photo was taken by bystanders before the police arrived. The latter two photos were taken by reporters once the police secured the scene. I believe she is probably dead in all three, but you can note the passage of time because the large puddle of urine that she left when her bladder contents were evacuated runs from her denim shorts to the street in the first image, but is partially dry in the second and third.
