Call me a pessimist, but it seems to me that as long as there are children in the world there's never going to be a time when stuff like this doesn't happen to them.
Has there ever been a time in human history where one group/tribe/army/nationality wasn't slaughtering another group/tribe/army/nationality ? It's not in human nature to exist in a state of kindness, respect, and love for fellow humans. What does this mean ? There's plenty more content where this came from, I guess.

True but this is like saying because sickness and pandemics have been a thing since the beginning and is just a part of nature means we aren't going to find ways to counter it and prevent as many deaths as possible.
