There is a "Big Three" when it comes to shark attacks and those 3 are great whites, bull sharks, and tiger sharks. Due to them being such large species, they're capable of inflicting serious injuries to a victim, and are commonly found in areas where humans enter the water, and have teeth designed to shear rather than hold. The great white shark stands at the highest amount of shark attacks provoked on humans currently racking up around 354 unprovoked shark attack on human and boats
A shark attack occurred on Thursday 29th December in the east of Mauritius, near Flamingo Island. M.A.J.L., a 39-year-old Mauritian fisherman, was mauled by a shark, and only part of his body was recovered.
The pirogue that M. and four other fishermen were on capsized during the night. The other four managed to swim back to shore

Sharks often don't intend to eat humans, but they will if provoked or confused..sharks are very curious creatures and don't have the greatest eyesight which makes it hard for them to decipher certain figures from another..for example if you're laying on a surfboard with your arms or legs in the water, it may confuse the shark by it thinking you're it's typical prey, seals and such..this isn't tye only reason they may attack, they may simply want to know what you taste like

Good post, gore enough for me to get my daily dopamine spike, upvoted.
Reminder : If you encounter a shark try to hit his nose, he will be disoriented and keep punching him until he give up (it unironically works) and calmly get back without losing eye contact.
Running away won't work he will see you as a prey and you will die a gruesome death.

glad you enjoyed!
though with hitting it is likely situational tbh. i feel like it could anger them more which will lead to more brutal attacks. it does work sometimes though

They doesn't think like we do, if you hit them in a sensitive spot such as nose tip or even better the eyes (much more effective but a bit harder to hit) they will think "Ok not worth it" and usually leave.
Eyes are way too critical for them (same for nose), this is why there a many account of people surviving shark attacks due to them hitting their eyes or nose.

aye you still never know, some sharks might go rogue on you.. but that's not to say hitting doesn't work. only downside is if you're underwater your punch speed is like nothingggg so it's harder to do that sometimes, that and you're in shock of like ... im literally being munched on by a shark rn and you're also confused and not sure what's happening (well you probably do but are just in shock) or where the creature is..

Sure but if you keep that in mind and do your best to at least poke on of his eyes your odds of surviving are much higher than if you start swimming as fast as you can (this is probably what most people in this thrread tried to do).
