Some people don't know that either gators or crocs or both have the habit of drowning their victim and then taking them under the water and wedging them under a submerged tree - and waiting until they rot enough that the gator/croc can easily break the bodies apart by snapping their heads back and forth. (the same way you see a dog kill a rat by shaking the rat in the dogs mouth)
