If they knew the alligator ate the guy, why not just let the thing have its meal. It only did what its instincts told it to. And you're killing a beautiful animal just to fish out a half digested non recognizable corpse. If I was the dead guy, just eat me and shit me out, at least I did something to contribute in the end lol
