humans need to realize how scary we can be to animals. Think about baboons. A 50 pound adult male baboon is terrifying. Being surrounded by a troop of baboons is terrifying. Now imagine being surrounded by a troop of baboons except they're all 3x bigger and more cunning, and have a history of slaughtering animals. The elephants are justified in trying to protect themselves.
