If you wish, my all time favorite movie is a beacon of psychedelic horror by absolutely hands down one of the most visionary uncompromising young directors in the game, Panos Cosmatos. His freshmen effort was a film called “beyond the black rainbow”. They’re all set in a shared universe but BTBR was a visceral look at what cult deprograming would look like if an institute had taken on a client with supernatural powers. Tedious and a true nail biting journey. His second film is my all time favorite movie, Mandy. The only movie I have ever seen thays a fult tilt (literal) lsd trip through the lens. one part testament to love and one part psychedelic fueled revenge flick it gives nic cage a chance to redeem himself for that movie about the Rapture he did for the Jehovahs.lol. Also tied for first on my list is a claustrophobic out of body Experience directed with some of the most advanced Camera rigging ever seen. Heavily influenced by the Tibetan book of the dead, Enter the Void by Gaspar Noe Is an uncompromising vision that’s best left without description as the viewer needs to draw their own opinions. Lastly “a dark song” a testament to Aliester Crowley is a must-see.
