It’s just sad honestly. They’re probably afraid, thinking “Oh shit this is it. I’m gonna die. Why me? Who’s going to take care of my family?” Etc. Maybe praying, or cursing a God or lack thereof. Could be filled with anger and hatred toward their captors or feeling that toward themself for getting into this situation, be it their fault or not.
Maybe they’re desperately trying to think about a happy memory or loved one to make their final moments easier.
Then probably they’re hyper focused on the pain, panic and anxiety until they pass out and die.
