I would like to know how they captured the kid.. normally kids from Bosses are heavily guarded. But only one moment of negligence can be enough... and i think its really hard to watch every step of your family-members. But the kids are normally soemthing holy for higher ups in the cartels.
But in tiime of social-media, you can easily track people down when they post their locations all-day long. And on top of that i read an article about the spyware "pegasus"... normaly used by governments. The cartels got hands on that stuff, and they use that shit to track their targets down.
I really wanna know how they did it... in this case.
Edit: Turning yourself in? They will kill you in prison too. They just promise some inmates to take care ot their families and they kill you for that. Its so easy...

It's best to turn yourself in shit, the prisons are worse than being on the outside, me personally I probably wouldn't start a family or would just send them as far away as possible if I was in the bosses position, I mean to be fair if they were able to get to his son he wasn't to careful about his family as you said he left them to be murdered, it could also be a case of teenage rebellion, his son could've easily done something or been somewhere he knows he shouldn't have and got what was already coming.
