No one knows for sure, but I do know that in the 16 or 1700's there was a (I believe French) scientist who wondered the same thing about people put in guillotines, right? And he and his assistant carried out an experiment where the scientist asked his assistant to watch him (the scientist) after he guillotined himself. The scientist told his assistant that after he had his head chopped off he was going to blink as many times as he could for as long as he could, and if I remember correctly he got a good 13 or 14 blinks in before he finally stopped. Trouble is, because he couldn't talk or anything anymore no one is sure if he was really blinking, or if it was just a natural reaction. But there are other videos floating around even on this site of a guy getting his head chopped off and his head is still "breathing" afterwards. The human body is weird and wonderful.

I've seen two videos here where the eyes move after beheading. One where a woman looks around after her head is being lifted, and another one a guy got a quick and clean cut, and his eyes are in a state of shock and then he looks down. Eery shit.
