A 17-year-old girl was found dead in the Sovetsky district of Novosibirsk. Signs of violent death were found on her body. The incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, July 26.
As reported by the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee for the Novosibirsk Region, the suspect in the crime has already been detained. After the massacre, he disappeared, but was found during the search. It is known that the man is 27 years old and has previously been convicted
According to investigators, the motive for the murder was jealousy. The attacker attacked the victim with a knife.
It was previously established that a verbal conflict occurred between the suspect and the victim due to jealousy. During an argument, the defendant in the case stabbed the girl at least 15 times in various parts of her body. The latter died on the spot from her injuries

I studied psychology for years, and the sad fact is that the crime rate would not go down as much as many people think it would if people clearly knew they would face torture for flagrantly violent crimes - because many of those crimes are committed by people who give absolutely NO thought to the consequences.
Some very violent crimes, including assassinations are planned, but the spur of the moment crimes wouldn't be greatly reduced, even if people know their torture would be broadcast on TV - although that might help too a little bit in reducing some terrible crimes.

I came across a case this morning, either on this website, or on the TV show Court Cam, about a guy who robbed, I think a cell phone store, and he killed the female store worker, despite the fact that she gave him everything she had.
I just seems that this kind of viscious hateful violence demands from some in the public a revenge sentence.
It might be because right wing conservative media has been lying to the (American) public in recent years - and news sources like Fox News and the worse OANN lie again and again and again claiming that crime is going up and everybody is in imminent danger of being shot as soon as they step out their door by immigrants who are streaming across the border like locusts.
When the FACTS are, most immigrants commit LESS CRIME than native born Americans.
But the news completely ignores the fact that almost all crime numbers have been going down since the highest crime rates in about the 1980's - and the news harps on a few rare cases to make people feel terrified.
And then when left media calls out right media about their lies, the right media says: "Well it FEELS more dangerous now." Which is BECAUSE the conservative media has been fearmongering and CREATING that feeling of being in so much danger now.
And the result of this fearmongering, and demagoguery is that much of the public becomes angry after they have been made to feel afraid, and they want revenge against criminals. They want to make them pay.
And watching a lot of videos on this website can tend to make people feel they are much more likely to be crime victims than the really are.
